National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah intervened to resolve growing internal discontent within the party following the recent cabinet expansion in Jammu and Kashmir. Accompanied by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Farooq Abdullah held a meeting with disgruntled party legislators to address their grievances. Speaking to the media afterwards, he dismissed claims of an internal rift or rebellion, stating that the party remains united and that the issues raised by the legislators were genuine and would be addressed in a phased manner. Senior leaders reiterated their loyalty to the party, rejecting speculation that the government was at risk of collapse. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ravinder Raina reacted to the development, stating that the dissent and resignation of parliamentarian Aga Ruhullah are strictly internal matters of the National Conference and that the BJP has no involvement. Sources indicated that the rebel MLAs are seeking changes within the cabinet, while party leadership works to maintain stability.

00:00Let me now take you from Mumbai to Jammu and Kashmir.
00:03Has Cyclo National Conference come to a pause right now?
00:07Dr. Farouk Abdullah's intervention at the residence with Omar Abdullah where other MLAs,
00:12who were the rebel MLAs, did come in a meeting was organized.
00:15But what happened in return was interesting.
00:17Farouk Abdullah came out and speaking to the media persons after that meeting,
00:21very clearly said that for now he has heard the grievance of the rebel MLAs.
00:26There is no internal rebellion. He basically dismissed all the charges
00:30and said that he would look into the issues in detail.
00:33Also dismissing that there is no rift within the party, reiterating Parties United.
00:38Remember it was India Today's exclusive scoop and news break that was confirmed.
00:41We broke it yesterday, exactly 24 hours ago, that there has been a secret huddle earlier,
00:46four meetings since October 27th, cabinet reshuffle and then the plan to meet Farouk Abdullah.
00:52The demand is to remove the ministers who have completed two years,
00:56and that their performance has not been good enough
00:59and that Omar Abdullah either meet their residence or face consequences.
01:04So what triggered the reward?
01:06We were October 27th, there was a cabinet expansion in Jammu Kashmir.
01:10Four new ministers were inducted, council strength went to nine.
01:13But senior ministers felt excluded.
01:15A six-time MLA, Mubarak Gula, senior leader, triggered the resentment, was very vocal about it.
01:21And then even, it appeared, repeated humiliation was mentioned by these MLAs
01:27and that soon turned into open dissent.
01:30You would think that the BJP has nothing to do with it, but it has jumped in to clarify.
01:36On the Operation Lotus charge, if it's happening here, I mean, the Raina of the BJP has said,
01:40this is NC's internal rift. It has nothing to do with us.
01:51The national conference in Daru has been dropped.
01:57It's wrong.
01:59It's wrong.
02:00It's wrong.
02:00It's wrong.
02:02It's wrong.

02:55. . . . . .
03:23We have seven questions from national conference.
03:27But there will be some grievances.
03:29There will be some grievances to address.
03:33I don't like that there is a thing that the media is running.
03:39National conference is running.
03:41The national conference will be starting.
03:46The national conference will not return.
03:48We will not return.
03:50Assemblée Resolution Passed is a big deal.
03:56If you have asked me to say that you have a national conference will not return.
04:03People will have an agreement with you.
04:06That is why we are here, people who are here,
04:09we are in trouble with the people who are here.
04:13They will not return.
04:19that he didn't do it, but he didn't want to do it.
04:24If you have a relationship with him, I will say that we always say that this BJP is a
04:31priority which is a nation conference which is trying to do it. And as soon as he
04:35Rahaulah has resigned, he has resigned from his side to his side. And Rahaulah has said that
04:41Rahaulah has said that the program has all of us, all of us, all of us. So my brother,
04:46then why do we ask our question? You can ask the BJP. You can ask the people.
04:50You can ask the people who are looking for. You can ask the people who are looking for.
04:54Then you can tell the people who are looking for.
04:58In the national conference, when some people have been minister and some people who are
05:03probably going to be a minister, it's not going to happen. Because it's a lack of
05:08will be the case of this party.
05:13My friends will work with my work,
05:18and their guests will be the same.
05:23They will also be the same way to get their own practices.
05:29I will find a way to go ahead and move forward.
05:35Look, there are the members of the national conference,
05:39who are members of the parliament.
05:43They have the same feeling and the parliament,
05:48if the parliament did not hurt their government,
05:52they have said their government.
06:17I'm reporting from the location in the morning
06:20was my colleague Mir Fareed tracking the latest from Srinagar.
06:23Fareed, can we say that the matter is settled for now?
06:25Is it only temporary?
06:27And I wonder what was really discussed in that meeting
06:29if you have insights go.
06:33Well, Pooja, for sure.
06:36I mean, the day this internal strike started
06:39in the National Conference,
06:40it was clear that the crucial moment will come
06:43when these MLAs will meet party patron Faruk Abdullah
06:46because everyone thought that
06:47that is going to be the decisive moment
06:49and that's exactly what has happened.
06:51They went, met Faruk Abdullah today
06:54and after that, as both parties came out,
06:57the rebels as well as Faruk Abdullah,
07:00they spoke to the media and said that all is well.
07:03Yes, they have grievances
07:04and the party high command has said
07:05that they will take care of them.
07:07Some immediately means the next few days
07:09and some are long-term issues.
07:11But our sources say that definitely all is not well
07:15within the National Conference.
07:17Now, the crisis may have been averted
07:18due to Faruk Abdullah's intervention right now.
07:22But one thing is clear that the party rebel group,
07:26which is considerable numbers,
07:2920 people have put the party high command on notice.
07:32While they've also said that they'll wait,
07:34they have been assured.
07:35Now, sources who were part of the meeting say that Faruk,
07:39in fact, Umar Abdullah even told these MLAs
07:42that he will not come under pressure
07:44and if they want, he'll resign.
07:46He can even resign after Diwali,
07:48to which these people said that,
07:50no, that is not their target.
07:52What they want is to save the party.
07:54There are people within the party,
07:55especially in the cabinet,
07:57who need to be taken care of.
08:00There needs to be a reshuffle,
08:02specifically naming Deputy Sian Surinder Chodhury
08:05and advisor to the CM, Nasir Aslamwani.
08:07Now, we'll have to wait and see
08:08what are these short-term measures,
08:09whether there'll be a reshuffle,
08:11whether R&B portfolio will be taken away
08:12from the deputy CM
08:13and whether Nasir Aslamwani will be there.
08:16Eventually, you know, what I can say is,
08:17as Farid is telling us,
08:18Dr. Faruk Abdullah is a quintessential politician,
08:22a veteran.
08:22He's been able to at least restrain the MLAs for now.
08:25But this is short-term.
08:26This is temporary.
08:27They will be waiting for those assurances
08:29to be implemented
08:30and we'll see how that goes for Jammu Kashmir.
08:33I have more news coming in, Farid.
08:34Thank you very much.
08:35Thank you very much.
