Ooty is located in the Nilgiris or blue mountains in the state of Tamil Nadu. Known for its colonial history, scenic beauty, lakes, gardens, tea plantations and the stunning 8,652-foot Doddabetta peak, Ooty is often called, "the queen of the Nilgiris." Since I moved to Pondicherry in 2017, I always wanted to visit this place and during the summer this year while planning a weeklong break from my clinical psychology practice, I could only think of Ooty. The road trip from Pondicherry to Ooty via Salem and Erode was just amazing.
