00:11Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we're taking a look at 10 of the toughest bosses to appear
00:17in New Game Plus playthroughs. Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long,
00:22so be sure to subscribe to MojoPlays and ring the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:28LAVENZA – Persona 5 Royal Accessing this fight is already a pain in the
00:42butt because it can only be accessed on New Game Plus, and is only available during the
00:47third semester. Hopefully you've buffed out everybody as much as you can because LAVENZA
00:52is harder to defeat than the Reaper himself. You will need to defeat her within 5 turns,
00:58or else she will wipe the entire party, instantly ending the fight. Your best means of getting
01:04through this fight is by continuously using skills that counter hers and know who you
01:10should be passing the baton to. Easier said than done though.
01:17The Dreamborn Terror – Grime
01:28The Dreamborn Terror is a lot like LAVENZA in that you can only find it when playing under New Game
01:34Plus, and it serves as the ultimate test of your skill. However, you'll only be able to fight it
01:40once you've gone through all of the child's memories during your initial run. Talk to the child during
01:45New Game Plus, and the fight will commence. Should you attempt this, be prepared for a long fight,
01:51as the Dreamborn Terror boasts 3 health bars and reaches new stages whenever half of the health
01:57bar is gone. So, stay on your toes, and try not to get discouraged on your 4th or 5th or
02:036th death.
02:14Simone – Nier Automata
02:17What the hell?
02:19Our records don't say anything about a machine like this!
02:22Sure, Nier Automata doesn't technically have a New Game Plus, but the routes you go down after the
02:27main story are essentially just that. Between Route A and B, Route B contains the harder fight against
02:34Simone. Not only does he have way more health than your initial encounter with him, some of his moves
02:39here can either put you at death's door, or even just outright kill you in a single hit. It doesn't
02:45help that on this route, you are playing as 9S, who has a completely different playstyle compared to 2B.
03:11It might seem a tad silly at first putting a game like Luigi's Mansion on a list
03:17about New Game Plus stuff. There aren't a lot of Nintendo games that do this kind of thing in the
03:21first place, but the funny thing about Luigi's Mansion is that the New Game Plus version of
03:26Bulacus is only accessible in the PAL version. Here, Luigi rides the Poltergust around the balcony's
03:33icy surface, and yes, the controls are much more tricky to get ahold of here. It's pretty easy to
03:40accidentally run into Bulacus and misfire ice blasts. As if Hidden Mansion couldn't get any harder in this
03:46version, am I right? IBIS, Armored Core 6, Fires of Rubicon.
03:57Funny thing about IBIS is that, unlike the other entries we have here, there really isn't anything
04:02different about it under New Game Plus. So why is it even on here? Well, no matter how many playthroughs
04:08you do, IBIS is an incredibly difficult boss every single time. This menacing machine forces you to
04:16always be on the move, and if your mech isn't reaching a certain speed, you're going to wind up
04:21taking a ton of damage. Hopefully you have an idea on how to approach it on your second or third
04:26run.
04:36The Red Apocalypse Dragon. Re-Fantasio.
04:46We had to throw another Atlas game in here, yes. Have you played any of them on hard difficulties?
04:51They can be grueling, and the Red Apocalypse Dragon is no different. To fight him, you will have to
04:57start New Game Plus on any difficulty that is above Storyteller. Then, go find the Book of Apocalypse
05:04somewhere within Academia. You need to be extremely careful here with this beast, because if you repel or
05:10absorb any of its attacks, it will counterattack with a move that can wipe the entire party.
05:15Potentially. That alone is enough to put most players on edge, and it's enough for some of us
05:20to go and watch somebody else fight it. It's just not worth the stress.
05:30Mr. Freeze. Batman Arkham City.
05:40One of the reasons we rave about Mr. Freeze in Arkham City so much is because of how well designed
05:45he is.
05:46He is difficult in perhaps the best way possible, in that his boss fight demands you memorize every
05:52possible type of takedown in the game. In a normal playthrough, you only need to execute a handful of
05:59them. But on New Game Plus, his fight requires you execute all 12 possible takedowns against him.
06:06And once you've done one of them, you cannot do that same takedown again. Better study up, son. Or,
06:13I dunno, keep a YouTube video up. Fine, Nora. She's all I have left.
06:20The Ur-Dragon. Dragon's Dogma.
06:35Of the bosses on this list, the Ur-Dragon is honestly the most forgiving when it comes to New Game
06:41Plus
06:41boss fights. Still tough as nails, but also a bit more forgiving. You won't be able to tackle the
06:47beast until after you have beaten the game, after which it will become available to take on at any
06:52point in New Game Plus. Now, you can fight it solo and do so in different intervals if you feel
06:59so
06:59inclined to do so. You can go in, do some damage, get out, go level up, come back, do even
07:05more damage,
07:06etc. However, if you want the really good gear, and I mean the really really good gear,
07:13you will have to fight the online version where you can have up to seven other players to help you.
07:19Just know that this Ur-Dragon is way more of a threat than the offline version.
07:32The Ceviche Sisters. Another crab's treasure.
07:41Yes, you do fight the Ceviche Sisters already in the main campaign, but should you tackle New Game Plus,
07:47you will find an almost entirely different boss fight. Under New Game Plus, the Ceviche Sisters come
07:53bearing some new moves to throw you completely off. A third sister joins the fray, and all three
07:59receive a major boost in attack power and speed, making the entire fight way more overwhelming
08:05than the original encounter was. Hope you got those parries down and try to go ham on one the
08:11second they're all separated.
08:28Before we continue, check out this single from Sound Mojo's album, Balance. Classical music reimagined as
08:34rock, hard rock, and metal. Check out the full track and album below.
08:51The Summoned Savior. Hollow Knight, Silksong.
09:03The Summoned Savior is one of several reasons why people say Silksong is way, way harder than the
09:10original Hollow Knight. After beating the main game, you will unlock a new difficulty setting called
09:15Steel Soul Mode, which activates permadeath. Well, guess what? This setting is also the only way you'll get
09:23to access the Aveso Lost, which you will need to complete in order to fight the Summoned Savior.
09:30And if you die at any point, well, have fun doing all of that nonsense all over again.
09:38Have you defeated any of these bosses yourself? Let us know down in the comments,
09:42and don't forget to subscribe to MojoPlays.
