00:00My first memories are from when I was three years old.
00:03She made some breakfast for me one morning.
00:05She made me hot cereal,
00:07and I could never get hot cereal down, made me sick.
00:10And I kept telling her I had a stomach ache,
00:12and I can still see her standing in the door
00:15as I'm trying to eat this.
00:17So I threw up in my little green bowl.
00:19Didn't miss it, right?
00:20So I ended up eating an entire bowl of vomit,
00:23and one morning she decided out of the blue
00:26I should do my ABCs,
00:28and I think I was maybe four,
00:29and I couldn't remember the next letters.
00:32And she got angrier and angrier and more sound,
00:36say it again!
00:37And she wouldn't help me get past that spot.
00:42And I had to go to the bathroom,
00:44and I told her,
00:44Mommy, I have to go to the bathroom.
00:46No.
00:47And I kept going back over,
00:49and I kept getting stuck in the ABCs at the same place.
00:52Say it again!
00:53And finally, my urine all just, you know,
00:56my little, it all came out,
00:58and I wet my pants.
00:59Mommy, I wet my pants!
01:01She beat me all the way down the hall,
01:03opened the cellar door,
01:04and threw me down the stairs.
01:06I was terrified every day of my life.
01:09She threatened me with a knife.
01:11My father was also very cruel.
01:14They both beat me from time to time,
01:17and I didn't know at that time
01:19I had a life that I could live the way I wanted.
01:22And I had no concept of that.
