00:00That began my journey of homelessness. So I just started couch surfing. I was also going to nursing
00:05school. So sometimes I would stay at my friend's dorm and my partner, who's like now my fiance,
00:11he would look out for me. And eventually, like I had finally graduated with my bachelor's in
00:16nursing. During nursing school, I had found like the culture of backpacking and like traveling. So
00:22I went on my first solo trip to like Guatemala to like work on myself. And it was during my
00:26spring
00:26break. And that one trip changed the course of my entire life. I was able to like really socialize
00:33and I was able to see the beauty of the world. And after that trip, I had come back and
00:38I told my
00:39partner that I'm going to go to Asia with or without him. And he was working a job at the
00:43time
00:44to which he just decided to quit. And it just like changed our lives. And so we kind of like
00:48just made
00:49this a routine. As time went on with social media, like I began telling my story and like being
00:53comfortable sharing it. And I was able to build a community online on all my platforms to be able
00:59to create like a safe space for other people to feel heard and feel seen with everything that
01:03they've dealt with in their life and to be able to share their experiences openly and authentically.
01:08I really appreciate that even though everything that I've gone through, it's not fair and that it
01:12was like hard to go through. I was able to make something good out of it. And I hope to
01:17continue
01:18like spreading awareness about these issues. And I hope to continue like making a safe space for
01:22other people to talk about their stories and to build community because I believe that communities
01:28are very important.
