00:00Andrew Barry, he's excited about the draft. A lot of people excited about the draft.
00:03Casey Concepcion, he's excited about him and what he brings to the offense.
00:07You know, it's hard to pick a favorite player. You're seeing it all over the board.
00:11Andrew Barry was on the draft review show last night and was asked about Casey Concepcion
00:18and told Nathan what he brings to the offense.
00:21Yeah, so for us, or at least the way I think about receivers is, you know,
00:25there are three areas where they can create playmaking.
00:29And it's before the catch, at the catch point, after the catch.
00:31And I think a lot of the elite guys in the NFL, they can really do two of the three
00:35or one of them at a rare or exceptional level.
00:39With Casey, we felt like he was among one of the best separators in the class,
00:45really top two in that regard, you know, really him and Jordan Tyson.
00:48And then, you know, we thought he was, you know, arguably the best ball-in-hand guy,
00:52you know, after the catch.
00:54You add that into the makeup, the returnability, his ability to play inside, outside,
00:59and separated all three levels.
01:01And we just felt like he was a, you know, high-odds prospect for us,
01:05someone that we felt like we could utilize real well in our offense.
01:08So you have a guy like that, and again, there's always going to be concerns
01:12about the quarterbacks he played with, the amount of drops, this, that, and the other.
01:15But when you go to this draft, there are, I thought, four guys that you would have as starters
01:21that would be penciled in here.
01:23And doing the show with Nathan last night, he's like, actually, there's five.
01:27They believe Parker Brailsford can be their week one starter at center coming up this year.
01:31I mean, that's a fifth-round guy, if I'm not mistaken.
01:32But it is the one thing about bad teams that are bad, you know, consistently,
01:36is there are opportunities to start.
01:38There you go.
01:38And the offensive line was not good last year, no matter what anybody says.
01:41I think people can tell with their eyes about what the offensive line was and wasn't in 2025.
01:46So that being pointed out, there were a lot of people going, yeah, they love the draft,
01:50they love everything, but, Lima, you want to say the quiet part out loud
01:53for a lot of folks out there that seem to be questioning a few things?
01:57Which is?
02:00Was the draft too good?
02:02Too good?
02:05I, you brought this up.
02:06Don't you, don't you turn this around on me.
02:08I was like, where is this going?
02:09No, no, don't you, no, no, fine.
02:10You want to stonewall me, buddy?
02:12No, I'm not stonewalling.
02:15I was like, where, I have no idea where you're going with this.
02:16It was a question that was brought up that I did not want to bring up that was brought up.
02:19So don't stonewall me and think that I'm bringing up the question.
02:22I don't want to be the one to bring up the question about the 2026 draft being too good
02:26and what takes us out of the quarterback running for 2027.
02:29Well, this is, this is the whole thing.
02:32Well, sometimes Ken leads me down a path and I'm like, I have no idea where he's going.
02:35And that was definitely one of those.
02:36Yeah, it's amazing that we didn't talk about it before the show and said exactly what you
02:38wanted to talk about coming up at seven o'clock.
02:39That's amazing.
02:40The, um, the, the question is, and I haven't seen Vegas change their number at all.
02:45When it comes to the Browns win total, they're still predicted to be one of the worst
02:48teams in the NFL, but do you think that there is so much talent in this draft and then paired
02:56up with last year's draft that they are out of the running for a quarterback really high
03:01in next year's draft?
03:01Two reasons.
03:02One, I, I don't think every team that's going to be near the top is going to need a quarterback
03:07that bad.
03:07I know it seems like it's going to be a really good class and maybe there's a couple of
03:10teams that talk themselves into needing quarterback.
03:12I don't think that every team that's going to be not good is going to be doing that.
03:15So you might be out of the running for the biggest of the big names.
03:18And maybe there's some people out there that are truthers about the biggest name out there.
03:21Maybe there are, but if you're out of the running for him, you can get into the running
03:26for a lot of other guys.
03:28I mean, goodness gracious.
03:29There's about, there's people saying there's seven, maybe eight guys that are a first round
03:34picks.
03:34We'll talk about Brennan Sorsby coming up in about last night.
03:36Maybe he's out of the, uh, running for a lot of Browns fans already before they even get
03:40rid of all the spring football or done with all the spring football.
03:45Um, I don't think it takes you out of it.
03:49I don't think that we should be thinking that way.
03:51This is a team that desperately needed talent.
03:52They needed solid talent.
03:53And let's put it out this way.
03:55You can make trades.
03:56And if your talent is that good with this young football team, you can, even though it's going
04:01to be tough to do, you can rob Peter to pay Paul.
04:04And if you want to, you can move up in 2027 by taking from 2028 and even 2029.
04:09If you really want to now they've done that before with disastrous results, but that was
04:14for a different guy who people are counting down the days until next June where he, we
04:18can be done with him.
04:20But that brings me to the second point of it.
04:22As good as this class is, and there are so many people just lavishing the Browns with praise
04:28as good as this class is.
04:31Um, how much faith do we have in the quarterbacks?
04:34I mean, not we're, we're out of excuses now for, I mean, Deshaun Watson, I don't want to
04:38see him start.
04:39I want to see Shador Sanders start, but guys, we're out of excuses now for all the other
04:43stuff.
04:43All the things that were brought up last year, these guys are good done.
04:47That's what I'm saying.
04:48Even Andrew Barry just said, uh, when talking about, you know, a few of these players, like
04:53he called them prospects, you know, these high probability prospect, he's admitting
04:58that they're draft picks, but they're still, they might be terrible, but if you're taking
05:01guys that we think are still four, four, four first round talent guys that happened
05:05in this draft, let's be careful in, in one of the worst drafts in 25 years, one of the
05:09worst teams in all the NFL for sure.
05:11These guys, if it's not like you took a risk on any of these guys, these are seen as solid
05:15players.
05:16The biggest risk I can really see are the wide receivers just because they're wide receivers,
05:21but the other ones, but at the other ones, it's like, no, I think Spencer Fano is going
05:26to come in.
05:26He's going to start for a long time.
05:28And I think Emmanuel McNeil Warren's going to be a good player for you for a long time.
05:30And I, I'm a little bit hesitant on just making Parker Brails for the starting center in week
05:36one, but fine, put them out there if you want to.
05:38And let's see how she floats.
05:39Well, he's got to earn it through Georgia Warhop, but if he does it fine, I'm going to
05:42trust him on that with the two wide receivers.
05:45It's just because of history of wide receivers.
05:47Maybe they'll be great.
05:48Maybe they won't be so great.
05:50Maybe one will be great.
05:51One won't be that great, but I'm just talking about the excuses that have been made for any of the
05:56quarterbacks out there that we've had where it's like, nah, you can't Stefanski's gone.
06:00Can't blame it on him.
06:02The wide receivers are better.
06:04Can't always blame it on that.
06:05There was a bad wide receiver room.
06:06They've addressed the offensive line like crazy.
06:09They have certainly addressed it.
06:11Now, will it be much better?
06:12We got to find out.
06:13That's why they got to put on the helmets and go out there and practice and everything.
06:15But you've addressed all these things that were considered needs and talent to get those guys.
06:20We're done with that.
06:21So you could very well go out there and still be like, people are looking at their win totals.
06:26Okay, how many wins do you think they're going to have this year?
06:28They had five this last year.
06:29Can they get six?
06:30Okay, after the draft, can they get six?
06:32Can they get seven?
06:32Could they get eight?
06:33And if they get eight, maybe it takes them out of the running for it.
06:36But if they get eight, you could still be looking and going, yeah, you got eight because
06:40you have a lot of good players around your quarterback, but your quarterback still ain't that excellent.
06:44Yeah, like you could always do that.
06:46And if you feel that confident about your other players, you can go into next year's draft
06:51and use that if you want to.
06:52Now, obviously, we got to set aside the potential of a Miles Garrett trade, which there are still
06:58people around the league that are convinced the Browns are trading him after June.
07:01And obviously, that throws everything.
07:03It wouldn't have mattered how much talent.
07:04You could have had 30 picks in the first round.
07:07If you trade Miles Garrett, you're going to be a bad team.
07:10You're almost assuredly going to be a really bad football team.
07:14So that would have changed the calculus on a lot of the conversations we're having.
07:17So we're setting that aside and assuming for the sake of this argument that he is on the team.
07:23And then, yeah, I mean, the easy schedule, the moves they made in free agency.
07:28You know, I keep saying they've addressed the offensive line.
07:30Have they fixed the offensive line?
07:31I mean, we're all going to be sitting there waiting week one, hoping that that's the case
07:35and not really ultimately knowing.
07:36Do you believe that this draft has taken them out of the running them in 2027?
07:40No, not at all.
07:41Because obviously, if you have really bad quarterback play again, it doesn't matter what your roster
07:46is.
07:46Really bad quarterback play, you know, you top out of five wins and you could be worse.
07:52That's what really bad quarterback play does.
07:53Well, then we'll ask the folks.
07:542-1-6-4-7-4-0-92.
07:56Does this draft take the Browns out of the running for a 2027 quarterback?
07:59Or is this where you're going, A, I think the quarterbacks are that good.
08:03We ain't got to have to worry about 2027.
08:04Or B, and you could say that about Shedore Sanders if you want to.
08:07Or B, no, you just don't have that much faith in the quarterbacks.
08:10And that's what's going to hold this team back from being a serious contender to make
08:12the playoffs in 2026.
