00:00trees and great to see him get that win and especially here for a hometown race and that's
00:05special. Here's his teammate who is still remaining a championship hopeful and that
00:11is Seth Hamaker. This is Ken Rockson's bike back in the pit area and Rockson rides very
00:18well in the muddy wet conditions. Yeah you see those things wrapped around the fork
00:25legs that's to keep the pork legs warm. Keep that oil warmed up. Suspension works
00:31better. Just got a quick shot there of Daxton Benick aboard his Rockstar Energy
00:37factory Husqvarna. He was pretty speedy today as well but very different
00:41conditions. They will have watched that first heat very closely. See what they've
00:46learned. See how they handle it. Here's heat two. 250 East. Hamaker on the inside. Bike 10. Can he
00:54squeeze his way through? Not quite. Rider Floyd got away to a nice start. Isaiah Clark in the mix.
01:04Here comes Hamaker on the inside. A rider down. I think that was Landon Hartz. Yep.
01:13Oh man. He got really lucky. Especially going down there early on the first rhythm lane.
01:20So many riders behind him. Great heads up riding by all these great racers in these gnarly
01:26conditions. Sometimes when the track is muddy like this it opens up opportunities for someone like
01:33Ryder Floyd and other riders in this race to come out and get some potential personal bests.
01:40Great opportunity for some.
01:42Seth Hamaker makes his way past Ryder Floyd. Ryder aboard his tie loop Honda. Got off to a terrific start.
01:51But the man who sits second in the points leads this second heap.
01:55You can see right there Seth Hamaker messing with his goggles. A lot of these riders electing to use
02:01roll-offs and what those roll-offs are built to do is it has a string and the canisters on
02:06the
02:06side of the goggle. You pull the string and it gives you a quick
02:10as a little vision. Clear vision there.
02:14Isaiah Clark. He leaps his way into second place very effectively past Ryder Floyd.
02:19And then Jeremy Hand's in the mix. Henry Miller is there. Marshall Welton who showed plenty of speed
02:26earlier today also. And Hayes Edwards is in the top seven. That's a great start. He narrowly missed
02:33out last weekend on making it through to do the three races of the Triple Crown. He missed out by
02:38one
02:38position. So close. It was Nick Romano who won 81, got that last position in the LCQ last week.
02:47There's Hayes Edwards in that bottom box. Daxton Bennett has just got by the youngster from Texas.
02:52The son of multi-time Superbike World Champ and former MotoGP rider Colin.
02:57You know sometimes when you're in these mud races and it's hard to do it takes a lot of discipline
03:03diff but race your own race. I mean I know everybody says hey I just want to go out there
03:09and
03:09and just take care of myself. But especially in the mud I feel like it's very very important.
03:15And before you know it if you're able to keep that motorcycle upright you'll pick up quite a few
03:19positions from other people going down or maybe having motorcycle issues, mechanical failures.
03:26So it's super super important to just be extremely focused on not hitting the deck JT.
03:33Yeah Rick and just to kind of follow what you're saying there you know you saw Landon Harts go down
03:38you saw Nate Thrasher go down. It's so difficult on the back side of that because you have three
03:42contact points with the motorcycle. You're holding on with your hands and gloves. The inside of your
03:47legs are gripping the motorcycle and then your boots of course. But when you crash your hands and
03:51the inside of your legs are often covered in mud and water. So you lose that traction. You're not able
03:56to
03:56hold on to the bike or better yet manipulate the motorcycle to where you want to go to turn into
04:01a lot
04:02more of a passenger to the motorcycle than you are determining the course of it. So like you're
04:07saying it's so important you have to go a little slower to avoid going down and then the main event
04:12also protecting the motorcycle will come into play as well.
04:20We were talking about young Hayes Edwards earlier. Here he is trying to make the main event.
04:31You can see the base again very slick but at the same time when that base is slick like that
04:37it gets to where the mud isn't super deep and sometimes I think that's a little bit easier.
04:43Oh there he goes. See I was talking about how slick it was. Oh the bike stopped. There you can
04:49see
04:50he's trying to get it back fired up. And it wasn't a major mistake. Oh well that's the thing it's
04:55so slick
04:56he went to come out of that corner. He just touched the throttle. The rear end slipped around
05:01and it was game over. I hate to see that man. He was in a perfect spot to transfer.
05:07He sure was. Daxton Benick is the man on the move aboard his Husqvarna. There he is
05:13the left of your screen. So that is fifth place now as he got by Jeremy Hand.
05:18So he's nicely positioned at the moment but there's still a minute and a half plus a lap to go
05:22in this second heat of the 250 East. Well remember I talked about that first
05:27250 heat race when Romano and Thrasher were battling. I'm like this is about as good as the
05:32track's going to be all night long. Now you can see what I was talking about. I mean this place
05:37is
05:37absolutely destroyed. The ruts through the rhythm lanes are long. The faster you can go the easier it is to
05:45navigate that but at the same time man it is so slick and these conditions are so difficult.
05:53Henry Miller there on the left of your screen aboard the MX-6 Kawasaki. He's doing a really nice job
06:00this
06:00year. He's in the top 10 in points. In fact he's eighth as he leaps his way past Ryder Floyd
06:06and that's
06:06for third place. And we've seen a lot of guys this season both in the 250 West Division and East
06:12Division
06:13have some personal best. Simonson one of those guys breakout years as I like to call it and
06:18it's a testament to the hard work that they put in not only the riders themselves but the teams as
06:24well.
06:29This is where these leader lights on these motorcycles on the front forks you'll see the
06:35green signifying that that that is the leader. It's super helpful. There is a crazy
06:43kind of battle going on for that ninth and final transfer position. CJ Bernard holds it at the
06:50moment. Nice is 10th. Luke Clout was there just a matter of a moment ago. It is changing crazy and
06:57look at poor old Hayes Edwards has dropped all the way to 19th and no longer in the lead lap
07:03after
07:03just a little spin and then the bike stalled. Well yeah once the bike stalled it's so hard to get
07:09back
07:09going because your clutch is compromised as well. Not good. You often hear us talk about how important
07:15the start is especially in these conditions. Well guess what you can now bet on the 450 main event
07:21whole shot winner. Do it now. Prop market is open and it is live right now. Scan that flow code
07:27or visit
07:27nxtvets.com slash play smx to claim a bonus and make your whole shot pick. Good luck. I talked about
07:36you know just just racing your race and staying on two wheels. I mean it's going to become more
07:43crucial and more important to be able to do that as these conditions continue to worsen throughout the
07:49night here. Final lap. CJ Bernard it's worth saying by the way aboard that gizmo racing Yamaha. Bernard is
07:57in ninth. He has never transferred directly out of a heat to the main. It's a huge night. Well we
08:02saw
08:02we saw three do that in the first heat plus Nick Romano's first win. There's lots of personal bests
08:08happening here. Yeah that's what we yeah we were talking about that a little earlier. It's like that's
08:12what I'm excited to see some of these riders know potentially have their best finishes and
08:17great opportunity. What about Hammacher though keeping the keeping the hopes alive for this
08:24championship right here. Keeping the pressure on. Hey you're the one who always says anything can
08:29happen. That's right. Anything can. Especially in the mud. He comes from Bainbridge PA. Might be a local
08:34race for Nick Romano but it really is a home race for this man here. Heat to winner. He comes
08:41from two hours
08:42northwest of here. And Seth Hammacher gets the victory. So it's Kawasaki. Kawasaki on the top of the
08:50time sheets from the first two heats. Binnick's done a great job here. I mean he was flirting with
08:56not uh being in qualifying position. He's marched all the way up. That was the second. Yeah that's second.
09:02This is going to be huge for his gate position in the main event. Way to fight back for Dax
09:07and Binnick.
09:08There it is. It might be a big time gap. Huge time gap from Hammacher back to Dax and Binnick.
09:14But second
09:14helps a lot. There he is there. A 30 second winning advantage. That is a monstrous victory for Seth Hammacher.
09:24We'll hear what he thinks about this home track.
