02:35mean it's defensive player of the year candidate to finish third and and really well last night
02:42after three quarters Asar Thompson's plus minus number was plus 31 wow Duncan Robinson was plus 30
02:50at the after three quarters now Duncan played 22 minutes Asar only played 16 minutes after three
02:57quarters and he was plus 31 in 16 minutes of play that's amazing that is amazing yeah

03:44Piston game last night guys who are under the microscope Jalen Duren, Danis Jenkins, Duren had a better game
03:55still wasn't quite the best version of him at least on the offensive end uh but he did I thought

04:03some teammates and I thought the attention they paid to him opened up some things for Tobias opened up some
04:09things for Asar and you know when you get into the postseason throughout any series whether it's hockey
04:17baseball basketball seven game series there are going to be games where guys who were good all year
04:24you know what happened to where is this guy where is that guy you can always think about like the
04:29Stanley Cup playoff runs of Red Wings went on and you're hey what happened to so and so why aren't
04:34they doing anything and right now it feels like Duren and Danis are those guys and I don't I don't

04:41the way Danis Jenkins is playing here in the postseason I still felt like last night he was dribbling the

04:46out of the ball and trying to make things and not letting the game come to him and there was
04:50a little bit
04:51more success um I didn't think it was as bad as it was in game one and then Duren you
04:56know the Duren lob
04:57which is such a huge part of their offense during you know the 82 has not really been a big
05:02part of the two
05:03no it hasn't they they were they attempted it a few times last night I think they were successful
05:08I don't think we saw one that was like perfectly executed but here's what we did see and you brought

05:14is the adjustment was all right you feed it into Duren and then he was able to find other players

05:19don't know if he had five assists last night something like that um and one of those was
05:24a lob to Asar which was was great to see the guy who stepped up last night was Tobias yep

05:31on both ends of the floor I mean he was harassing the jick uh and trying to get it to
05:38pass it's terrible
05:39it's terrible but um but he was he was you know causing problems for them all night long getting
05:45up in the face of players and just really being a pest defensively while also offering up a lot
05:51offensively now it's it's strange like when you look at the overall stats in this game and you see
05:57the Pistons got outshot at the free throw line that their three point percentage was less than the
06:04Magic and the Magic shot only 25 percent Pistons knocked down three uh six three pointers for 23
06:11percent clip that's awful you see that you see 22 turnovers right yeah how how did this team win
06:17well this team won with smothering defense and one outstanding quarter of basketball they got it done
06:24there's so much more for this team to give that has me really encouraged about the the rest of this
06:29series and that quarter did all the heavy lifting the Magic won two quarters the Pistons won two
06:34quarters and but the Pistons were so dominant in the third quarter that did all the heavy lifting
06:40that they needed in that game um so hey it was that start of the third quarter Tobias hit like

06:48footer Cade hit a jumper Duren had a dunk Cade had an and one a Sarr had a dunk Duncan
06:52hit a three
06:53timeout they were getting stops that was the other thing right in game one they couldn't string together
06:59stops you know I know that different teams track different things some teams track three
07:04consecutive stops they call those defensive kill shots where you take a game over when you put
07:09together three consecutive stops in that third quarter it was like seven consecutive stops it was
07:14eight consecutive stops they just kept getting the stops on the defensive end and that's those are the
07:20types of things that we've grown so accustomed to that weren't there in game one now as excited
07:27as Detroit is about the way they played last night game three is going to be a whole different animal
07:32because if you the magic are going to go back and say hey we did our job we went to
07:36Detroit and we
07:36split we know we can play with these guys and we've got home court if we hold serve the rest
07:41of the way
07:42we're winning this series and so they're still going to be a confident group they're still a talented
07:46group I don't think this series is over by any stretch of the imagination but Pistons got work to do
07:52they now know that they they can do what they did last night if whatever they did that really led
08:00to
08:00that and there was JB didn't want to talk a lot about what was said at halftime Tobias opened the
08:06window a little bit and we'll play that before the show is done but something happened in the halftime
08:11locker room maybe it was after six quarters and they're like we've lost game one we're tied at the
08:17half a game two you know they probably felt very challenged because that game at half
08:25it wasn't a foregone conclusion the Pistons were winning that game even though I thought they
08:29outplayed the magic in many ways in the first half boy did they respond no it's one of those games
08:33you're like how is it tied and actually the the opposite feeling came in it was that feeling of
08:38dread like oh great they played so well defensively and then here they are tied this isn't going well
08:44and then the third quarter starts and they just get off on this run or Orlando didn't have a field
08:50goal through the first I think eight minutes of of the third quarter it was it was incredible just
08:56awesome destruction from the Pistons over the magic last night and like I said they have so much more
09:03to offer offensively the Pistons do we haven't seen the offense really click yet so I'm excited about
09:08that and now we're going to have we set up for a Saturday afternoon at one o'clock game in
09:13Orlando
09:14I'm not sure how that's going to work but um what do you mean you're not sure I just I

09:18fan of of day games for hockey and basketball I just it always seems not day games but you know
09:25one o'clock starts something about it just seems weird and unnatural okay it's just a feeling okay
09:31my guess is they're going to play it when you say you don't know how it's going to work I
