00:02:29Alleluia.
00:02:30Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people, and has raised
00:02:37up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, as he spoke by the mouth
00:02:44of his holy prophets from of old, that we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand
00:02:49of all who hate us, to perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant,
00:02:56the oath which he swore to our father Abraham, to grant that we, being delivered from the
00:03:02hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him
00:03:08all the days of our life.
00:03:10And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the
00:03:15Lord to prepare his ways, to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness
00:03:21of their sins, through the tender mercy of our God, when the day shall dawn upon us from
00:03:27on high, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide
00:03:33our feet into the way of peace.
00:03:35Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
00:03:39And very early in the morning after the Sabbath, they came to the sepulchre at sunrise.

00:05:56Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass

00:06:04And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
00:06:09Amen.
00:06:09Let us pray.
00:06:11O Lord, who does gladden us by the yearly feast day of our Lord's resurrection,
00:06:16deign to grant that we, who celebrate these solemnities in time, may reach heavenly joys
00:06:22in eternity.
00:06:23We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with thee in
00:06:27the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, forever and ever.
00:06:33All right.
00:06:35Well, good morning, everyone.
00:06:38So, a few announcements.
00:06:40Thank you for being here on this Low Sunday.
00:06:42I say this every year.
00:06:44The old joke among clergy is that they call it Low Sunday because nobody shows up for church
00:06:50after everyone was here for Easter.
00:06:53But I think that's not the thing we do here.
00:06:57We always have a great turnout for Low Sunday as well.
00:07:01Number one, please keep inviting people to join us in meeting the Lord in worship and fellowship.
00:07:08Thank you to all who participated last Sunday for the Solemnity of the Resurrection, Easter
00:07:14Sunday.
00:07:14It was just such a joy to be together, to share that time and that worship as well as our
00:07:21fellowship
00:07:22with our Easter repast.
00:07:25Remember that Easter is more than a day.
00:07:27It is an entire season of 50 days.
00:07:31So, we're just kind of at the beginning.
00:07:33And you'll see in the Gospel, we're still in the first day of Jesus' resurrection.
00:07:39So, you know, it goes for those days so we may reflect on the great goodness that our God
00:07:46has brought us in his Son's resurrection.
00:07:50There's flyers on the back table for the men's retreat.
00:07:54Please take note of those.
00:07:56Basket Social Prep, thank you for all who came and made pierogi the other day.
00:08:02We have got guumki making upcoming for the Basket Social.
00:08:06And we also have two weeks left.
00:08:10It's going to fly by fast.
00:08:12So, if you have baskets, number one, thank you for your creativity, for your artistry and
00:08:17your generosity in making those baskets.
00:08:20And please bring them in as soon as you can so we can get a proper program set up and
00:08:28all
00:08:28the details marked down.
00:08:32A little bit of a change.
00:08:34Make sure you have one of these.
00:08:37So, some people had come to me, more than one, and they talked about our proliferation of books.
00:08:45If you look in your pew, you've got a blue book, you've got a red book, you've got a pew
00:08:50missile,
00:08:50you've got the sung ordinaries, and all these books are nice, they're wonderful, and they've been generously
00:08:59given to us, and that's why we have the license to use the music.
00:09:03But, it's tough when you're trying to worship God, and you've got to go, oh, which book now?
00:09:09Where am I?
00:09:10What page do I have to turn to?
00:09:12So, we put everything in one program.
00:09:15So, we'll have one program.
00:09:17We're going to use this for all the Easter season, except Good Shepherd Sunday, because
00:09:20the music will change, you know, to be reflective of the Good Shepherd.
00:09:25So, everything is, all the music is in here, the entire liturgy is in here.
00:09:31And, so, you know, and plus this will kind of help us in a way to, you know, using the
00:09:38same music over and over will not be boring, but it will help us learn that music even better
00:09:44so we can sing with joy.
00:09:45I listened to Bluegrass on the way here, and they have a program Sunday morning, it's called
00:09:50The Gospel Train, and the one song this morning was about a guy in church who could never sing
00:09:58on key until he got to heaven, but he always sang, because God's people sing, and we do
00:10:04that here, which is wonderful.
00:10:06So, if you don't have one, raise your hand, and someone will grab one for you.
00:10:10They're on the back table there, and just follow along, and you don't have to switch books.
00:10:14So, I thank people for those suggestions.
00:10:18Also, give me, give Paul, give us feedback on this.
00:10:26Does this work for you?
00:10:27Could it be better?
00:10:29So, we'll do this, and we'll see what happens.
00:10:37Which means I have to have this with me so I can sing.
00:10:47Wonderful.
00:10:48So, because it is the Easter season, we begin our worship on Sundays with the Easter asperges.
00:10:54I saw water flowing, so with that, please rise for the Easter asperges.
00:11:12I saw water coming forth.
00:11:39Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
00:11:46Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
00:11:51Praise God, from whom all blessings flow.
00:11:56Praise him, all creatures here below.
00:12:03Alleluia, alleluia.
00:12:06Praise him above the heavenly host.
00:12:11Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
00:12:18Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
00:12:30Show us your mercy, Lord.
00:12:32Alleluia.
00:12:36Lord, hear our prayer.
00:12:38Let our prayer come to you.
00:12:40The Lord be with you.
00:12:42And also with you.
00:12:44Let us pray.
00:12:46Father, we call upon you to abide with your people who are assembled here.
00:12:51Cleanse us of our sins and make us aware of the promise of your Son that where two or three
00:12:56are gathered together in his name, he is with them.
00:12:59Through this holy Eucharist we celebrate, make us worthy to sit at his table in the kingdom of heaven.
00:13:06We ask this with the same Jesus Christ, our Lord.
00:13:10Amen.
00:13:25Jesus Christ is risen today.
00:13:34Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, our triumphant holy name, alleluia.
00:13:46For it once upon the cross, alleluia, suffer to redeem our loss, alleluia.
00:14:07Hymns of praise and let us sing, alleluia, unto Christ our heavenly King, alleluia.
00:14:28Who endures the cross and praise, alleluia, sinners to redeem and save, alleluia.
00:14:59Again, good morning, my dear brothers and sisters, and welcome on this low Sunday.
00:15:04This Sunday which completes the octave of Easter and carries us into this wonderful season of Easter.
00:15:14That we may, through this season, give thanks and glorify our Lord for all he has done for us.
00:15:21Today's holy mass is offered for our sister Marlon on this anniversary.
00:15:26We especially remember our dear sister Marlon.
00:15:32She was a member of the ANS.
00:15:34She was very generous to the parish, Liz and Mike's mom.
00:15:38And we remember her fondly, so let us keep her in prayer, especially on this day.
00:15:45Today's holy mass is in the contemporary rite, which is found in your program pamphlets.
00:15:51I don't have to say it's on page 63 anymore.
00:15:55So let us begin.
00:15:56In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
00:16:00Lord, bless us with the wisdom to praise you in spirit and in truth,
00:16:04so that by following your holy will, we may gain eternal salvation.
00:16:09My dear brothers and sisters, let's now pause to confess our sins to God
00:16:13and prepare ourselves so that we may worthily participate in this holy sacrifice.
00:16:19Please now complete your examination of conscience, confessing your sins privately to God
00:16:24and seeking his forgiveness.
00:16:44Have we called our sinfulness in seeking reconciliation with God and each other?
00:16:48Let's now recite the confitier found in your program.
00:16:52I confess to Almighty God in the presence of the Blessed Virgin Mary, all the saints and you,
00:16:59my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned through my own fault in my thoughts, in my words,
00:17:05in what I have done or failed to do.
00:17:08I ask the Blessed Virgin Mary, all the saints and you, my brothers and sisters,
00:17:13to pray for me to the Lord our God.
00:17:16As an act of penance for our sinfulness, before we go to bed tonight,
00:17:21let's offer up a prayer of thanksgiving,
00:17:24just a word of praise to our Lord and God who has redeemed and saved us.
00:17:31May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.
00:17:36May our Lord Jesus Christ absolve you.
00:17:38With his authority vested in me, I absolve you from all your sins.
00:17:42In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
00:17:45Amen.
00:17:54I waited, waited for the Lord, who bent down and heard my cry,
00:18:00drew me out of the pit of destruction, out of the mud of the swamp,
00:18:04set my feet upon rock, steadied my steps, alleluia,
00:18:09and put a new song in my mouth, a hymn to our God.
00:18:13Many shall look on in awe, and they shall trust in the Lord.
00:18:18Alleluia.
00:18:19Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
00:18:22Where word?
00:18:22And to the Holy Spirit.
00:18:30Alleluia.
00:18:36Alleluia.
00:18:50Alleluia.
00:18:56Glory to God in the highest.
00:19:21The Lord of the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit and the glory of God the Father. Amen.
00:20:12The Lord of the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit and the glory of God the Father.
00:20:21Let us pray.
00:20:23Heavenly Father, you redeemed us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
00:20:30Grant that we may benefit from the graces merited by our Savior.
00:20:36We ask this through the same Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit, one God,
00:20:44forever and ever.
00:20:48Amen.
00:20:51Let us now be seated and attentive to the Lord's Word.
00:21:24A reading from the Acts of the Apostles.
00:21:27They devoted themselves to the teaching of the Apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of bread and
00:21:37to prayers.
00:21:37All came upon everyone, and many wonders and signs were done through the Apostles.
00:21:46All who believed were together and had all things in common.
00:21:52They would sell their children, and they would sell their property and possessions, and divide them among all according to
00:22:00each one's needs.
00:22:02Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area, to break bread in their homes.
00:22:12They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart, praising God and enjoying the favor with all the people.
00:22:24And every day the Lord added to their numbers, those who were being saved.
00:22:31The Word of the Lord.
00:22:33Thanks to you, God.
00:22:36Our response for our psalm today is,
00:22:39Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
00:22:43His love is everlasting.
00:22:46Give thanks to the Lord.
00:22:48He is good.
00:22:49His love is everlasting.
00:22:52Let the house of Israel say,
00:22:55His mercy endures forever.
00:22:58Let the house of Aaron say,
00:23:01His mercy endures forever.
00:23:03Let those who fear the Lord say,
00:23:06His mercy endures forever.
00:23:09Give thanks to the Lord.
00:23:12For he is good.
00:23:13His love is everlasting.
00:23:17It was hard-pressed, and I was falling.
00:23:22But the Lord helped me.
00:23:25My strength and my courage is the Lord,
00:23:28and he has been my Savior.
00:23:32The joyful shout of victory in the tents of the just.
00:23:37Give thanks to the Lord.
00:23:40For he is good.
00:23:41His love is everlasting.
00:23:42The stone which the builders rejected
00:23:46has become the cornerstone.
00:23:50By the Lord has this been done.
00:23:53It is wonderful in our eyes.
00:23:57This is the day the Lord has made.
00:24:00Let us be glad and rejoice in it.
00:24:05Give thanks to the Lord,
00:24:07for he is good.
00:24:08His love is everlasting.
00:24:13A reading from the first letter of St. Peter.
00:24:17Blessed be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
00:24:22who in his great mercy gave us a new birth
00:24:26to a new living hope.
00:24:29Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
00:24:33to the inheritance that is imperishable,
00:24:38undefiled, and unfading,
00:24:41kept in heaven for you,
00:24:44who by the power of God are safeguarded through faith
00:24:49to a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the final time.
00:24:56In this you rejoice,
00:24:59although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials,
00:25:06so that the genuineness of your faith,
00:25:10more precious than gold,
00:25:13that is perishable even though tested by fire,
00:25:17may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor
00:25:24at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
00:25:27Although you have not seen him,
00:25:32you love him.
00:25:33Even though you do not see him,
00:25:36now yet believe in him.
00:25:38You rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy
00:25:44as you attain the goal of your faith
00:25:48in the salvation of your souls.
00:25:51The word of the Lord.
00:25:53Thanks be to God.
00:26:13Please rise.
00:26:16Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
00:26:35I praise you, Lord, for you raised me up
00:26:39and did not let my enemies rejoice over me.
00:26:42Lord, you brought me up from Sheol.
00:26:45You kept me from going down to the pit.
00:26:53Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia.
00:27:12The Lord be with you.
00:27:13And alleluia.
00:27:15A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. John.
00:27:18Glory be to you, O Lord.
00:27:20On the evening of that first day of the week,
00:27:23when the doors were locked where the disciples were
00:27:26for fear of the Jews,
00:27:27Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them,
00:27:31Peace be with you.
00:27:32When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side.
00:27:36The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.
00:27:41Jesus said to them again,
00:27:43Peace be with you.
00:27:44As the Father has sent me, so I send you.
00:27:48And when he had said this, he breathed on them
00:27:51and said to them,
00:27:52Receive the Holy Spirit,
00:27:54whose sins you forgive are forgiven them,
00:27:57and whose sins you retain are retained.
00:28:00Thomas, called Didymus, one of the twelve,
00:28:02was not with them when Jesus came.
00:28:04So the other disciples said to him,
00:28:07We have seen the Lord.
00:28:08But he said to them,
00:28:10Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands
00:28:13and put my finger into the nail marks
00:28:15and put my hand into his side,
00:28:18I will not believe.
00:28:20Now a week later,
00:28:21his disciples were again inside,
00:28:23and Thomas was with them.
00:28:25Jesus came,
00:28:26although the doors were locked,
00:28:28and stood in their midst and said,
00:28:30Peace be with you.
00:28:31Then he said to Thomas,
00:28:34Put your finger here and see my hands,
00:28:36and bring your hand and put it into my side,
00:28:39and do not be unbelieving,
00:28:41but believe.
00:28:42Thomas answered and said to him,
00:28:45My Lord and my God.
00:28:47Jesus said to him,
00:28:49Have you come to believe because you have seen me?
00:28:52Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.
00:28:55Now Jesus did many other signs
00:28:57in the presence of his disciples
00:28:59that are not written in this book.
00:29:01But these are written that you may come to believe
00:29:04that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,
00:29:07and that through this belief,
00:29:09you may have life in his name.
00:29:12This is the Gospel of the Lord.
00:29:15Praise be to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
00:29:24Amen.
00:29:29Amen.
00:29:31Amen.
00:29:33Amen.
00:29:34Amen.
00:29:40Amen.
00:29:56Amen.
00:30:21Amen.
00:30:54Grant that we may benefit from the graces merited by our Savior.
00:31:01In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen.
00:31:05Christ is risen, alleluia.
00:31:09He is truly risen, alleluia.
00:31:12One more time, Christ is risen, alleluia.
00:31:15He is truly risen, alleluia.
00:31:18The little verse I began with today is taken from our colic, or our opening prayer,
00:31:26a sort of hint for us about what today is all about.
00:31:31When you piece together the colic, the opening prayer of the Mass,
00:31:36the secret, which is also called the offertory prayer,
00:31:39and the post-communion prayer, and you take them all together,
00:31:43you get a tour of the themes that the Holy Church is offering to us today
00:31:50through the work and the word of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
00:31:55Indeed, these prayers are important because in them we pray to gain understanding,
00:32:03and we pray to receive the grace to carry out what we pray for.
00:32:09Also, in case you didn't know this, the propers, which are all those prayers pieced together,
00:32:15it's the official name for those prayers, the propers,
00:32:18used in our church are unique each Sunday.
00:32:23It is a three-year cycle of prayers,
00:32:26so those prayers always match the readings and the gospel of the day.
00:32:31As a matter of fact, we're the only church in the entire world
00:32:34that has a three-year cycle of propers.
00:32:38They match up, and again, important for our understanding
00:32:43and our reception of the graces that we need to do as Jesus asked us to do.
00:32:50So today we pray that we may benefit from the graces Jesus won for us
00:32:56by his obedience to the Father's will.
00:33:00We need that prayer.
00:33:02Think of the apostles, think of the disciples,
00:33:05think of those women who were so very faithful
00:33:09in the weeks after the resurrection.
00:33:12Jesus kept showing up.
00:33:15He kept showing up.
00:33:17And for the most part, they didn't recognize him.
00:33:22You know, you would think if you came across a resurrected individual,
00:33:26somebody who had risen from the dead,
00:33:28you'd be like, oh my goodness, he's risen from the dead.
00:33:31No, they sort of sat there like this.
00:33:34What's going on?
00:33:36Right?
00:33:38As Scripture tells us, they were incredulous for joy.
00:33:42They didn't know how to deal with it.
00:33:47They just didn't get it.
00:33:52Jesus meets Mary in the garden.
00:33:55Mary Magdalene's in the garden.
00:33:57She doesn't recognize him.
00:33:58She thought he was the caretaker.
00:34:00He was the gardener.
00:34:02Hey buddy, where'd you put my friend Jesus?
00:34:04He's not in his tomb anymore.
00:34:08Peter and John encounter the empty tomb,
00:34:11but they don't quite understand.
00:34:15Jesus meets the disciples on the road to Emmaus.
00:34:19And they're talking about what had happened.
00:34:22They don't recognize him.
00:34:24Not until the breaking of the bread.
00:34:27Then they run.
00:34:28They run back to Jerusalem.
00:34:33He appears in the upper room.
00:34:36They think he's a ghost.
00:34:39He says, I'm not a ghost.
00:34:41A ghost doesn't have flesh.
00:34:43A ghost doesn't have bones.
00:34:44A ghost doesn't have blood.
00:34:47And a ghost won't eat.
00:34:50So give me some fish.
00:34:52Do you got anything to eat here?
00:34:53And they give him fish.
00:34:56Thomas won't believe.
00:34:58He won't believe the witness of his friends.
00:35:01And he demands that Jesus show up
00:35:05and prove that he's alive.
00:35:11Jesus merited graces for them.
00:35:15Just as we pray today,
00:35:17Jesus merited graces for us.
00:35:19He merited those same graces for them.
00:35:22And those were the greatest people
00:35:24in the entire history of the world.
00:35:27Peter, James, John,
00:35:29Mary Magdalene,
00:35:31the other women,
00:35:33the other disciples,
00:35:34the greatest people
00:35:36in the history of the world,
00:35:38surpassed by none
00:35:40except Jesus.
00:35:42He merited graces for them.
00:35:46And they faced Jesus' reality
00:35:49with difficulty.
00:35:52They had difficulty
00:35:54getting it,
00:35:55understanding what Jesus had done.
00:36:00because they were stuck
00:36:02in their troubles.
00:36:04They were stuck in their troubles.
00:36:06Remember those disciples
00:36:07on the road to Emhouse?
00:36:09Did you hear what happened?
00:36:10Did you hear what happened to Jesus?
00:36:12Let's talk about all the horrible things
00:36:13that happened.
00:36:14Because you know how we are
00:36:16as people, right?
00:36:17We like to talk about the bad stuff.
00:36:20Did you hear about that procedure I had?
00:36:22I wasn't good.
00:36:24We like to talk about that.
00:36:25Well, they were talking about
00:36:26all the bad stuff.
00:36:27They were caught up
00:36:29in their troubles.
00:36:31We need the graces
00:36:34that we are praying for today
00:36:37to relieve our doubts,
00:36:39to overcome our burdens,
00:36:42to set aside our troubles,
00:36:46to get rid of all that stuff
00:36:48that blocks our vision
00:36:50of Jesus resurrected
00:36:52so that we can get up
00:36:55and run around
00:36:55and be happy
00:36:56and be joyful
00:36:57and full of His life.
00:37:02He's given us
00:37:03a wonderful gift.
00:37:04It's a wonderful gift
00:37:06of true freedom.
00:37:07We are free
00:37:08to be joyful.
00:37:10We are free
00:37:11to be happy.
00:37:12We are free
00:37:13to set aside our troubles
00:37:15because in the long run,
00:37:16they don't matter.
00:37:18They don't matter.
00:37:22Lord, by Your grace
00:37:25help us to benefit
00:37:26fully
00:37:27from what You
00:37:28have merited for us.
00:37:30In the name of the Father,
00:37:31and of the Son,
00:37:31and of the Holy Spirit.
00:37:44Let us now rise
00:37:46and together profess
00:37:47our faith.
00:37:48I believe in one God,
00:37:51the Father,
00:37:51the Almighty,
00:37:53Maker of heaven and earth,
00:37:54of all that is seen
00:37:55and unseen.
00:37:56I believe in one Lord,
00:37:58Jesus Christ,
00:37:59the only Son of God,
00:38:00eternally begotten
00:38:02of the Father,
00:38:03God from God,
00:38:04light from light,
00:38:05true God from true God,
00:38:07begotten,
00:38:08not made of one being
00:38:09with the Father.
00:38:11Through Him
00:38:11all things were made
00:38:12for us
00:38:13and our salvation.
00:38:14He came down
00:38:15from heaven
00:38:16by the power
00:38:17of the Holy Spirit.
00:38:18He was born
00:38:19of the Virgin Mary
00:38:20and became man.
00:38:24For our sake
00:38:25He was crucified
00:38:27under Pontius Pilate.
00:38:28He suffered death
00:38:29and was buried.
00:38:30On the third day
00:38:31He rose again
00:38:32in fulfillment
00:38:33of the Scriptures.
00:38:34He ascended into heaven
00:38:36and is seated
00:38:37at the right hand
00:38:38of the Father.
00:38:39He will come again
00:38:40in glory
00:38:41to judge the living
00:38:42and the dead
00:38:42and His kingdom
00:38:43will have no end.
00:38:45I believe
00:38:46in the Holy Spirit,
00:38:47the Lord
00:38:48and giver of life
00:38:49who proceeds
00:38:50from the Father
00:38:50with the Father
00:38:52and the Son.
00:38:53He is worshipped
00:38:53and glorified.
00:38:54He has spoken
00:38:55through the prophets.
00:38:56I believe
00:38:57in one holy,

00:39:03of sins.

00:39:05of the dead
00:39:06and the life

00:42:17the movements of me
00:42:17to come for us.

00:42:38the day of Christ,
00:42:39our homeless son,

00:46:17He is the true Lamb
00:46:20who took away the sins of the world.
00:46:24Through his death he conquered death for us,
00:46:27and by his wondrous resurrection
00:46:29he restored eternal life to us.

00:48:04especially for all of our parishioners,
00:48:06all of our seminarians,
00:48:08and cardinates,
00:48:09and those wishing and desiring
00:48:11to serve the Lord as priests and deacons,
00:48:14and for all those who find
00:48:15their home of faith here with us.
00:48:17Remember all of us who are present here,
00:48:19who truly believe and are devoted to you,
00:48:21we offer this sacrifice of praise to you,
00:48:23our living, eternal, and true God,
00:48:25for ourselves and all those we love,
00:48:27for the redemption of our souls,
00:48:28and hope for our salvation.
00:48:29Together with the whole church,
00:48:31we honor the Virgin Mary,
00:48:32the mother of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
00:48:34We also honor the apostles and martyrs,
00:48:36as well as all those who have lived and died,
00:48:38confessing your name.
00:48:40Remembering them,
00:48:40we desire to follow their example,
00:48:42and so gain your love and help.
00:48:44Father, accept this offering
00:48:45from your whole family,
00:48:46grant us your peace in this life,
00:48:48preserve us from spiritual damnation,
00:48:51and count us among your chosen people.
00:48:57Bless, accept, and approve this offering
00:48:59we now make to you,
00:49:00and let it be pleasing to you.
00:49:02Fill it with the power of your Holy Spirit,
00:49:04and let it become for us
00:49:06the body and the blood of your Son,
00:49:08our Lord, Jesus Christ.
00:49:10The day before he suffered and died,
00:49:13our Lord desired to make his love
00:49:14known to his disciples
00:49:16and all who would follow him.
00:49:18He therefore instituted these sacred mysteries
00:49:20by which he joined himself with them
00:49:23spiritually and bodily
00:49:24in his whole being
00:49:26and abides with us forever.
00:49:28At that moment,
00:49:30so sacred for all of humanity,
00:49:32Jesus took bread into his holy hands,
00:49:35and looking up to heaven,
00:49:36to you, his Almighty Father,
00:49:39he gave you thanks.
00:49:40He blessed the bread,
00:49:42broke it,
00:49:43and gave it to his disciples,
00:49:44saying,
00:49:46Take this, all of you,
00:49:48and eat it,
00:49:49for this is my body,
00:49:51which is given for you.
00:50:06When supper had ended,
00:50:08he took the cup.
00:50:09In the same way,
00:50:10he gave you thanks,
00:50:11blessed it,
00:50:13and gave it to his disciples,
00:50:14saying,
00:50:16Take this, all of you,
00:50:17and drink from it.
00:50:19For this is the cup of my blood,
00:50:21the blood of the new
00:50:22and everlasting covenant,
00:50:24which shall be shed for you
00:50:25and for many
00:50:26for the forgiveness of sins.
00:50:28As often as you do this,
00:50:30do it in remembrance of me.
00:50:46Father,
00:50:47in celebration of the memory
00:50:48of Jesus Christ,
00:50:49your Son,
00:50:49we are people who recall
00:50:50his passion,
00:50:51resurrection from the dead,
00:50:52and ascension into glory.
00:50:54From the many gifts
00:50:55you have given us,
00:50:56we offer this pure,
00:50:57holy,
00:50:57and spotless offering,
00:50:59the holy bread of life,
00:51:00and the holy cup
00:51:01of eternal salvation.
00:51:03Look favorably
00:51:04on these offerings
00:51:05and accept them
00:51:06as you once accepted
00:51:06the gifts of your servant Abel,
00:51:08the sacrifice of our Father
00:51:10in faith, Abraham,
00:51:11and the bread and wine
00:51:12offered by your priest,
00:51:13Melchizedek.
00:51:14In humility,
00:51:15we ask, Father,
00:51:17that these offerings
00:51:17be carried by your angel
00:51:19to your high altar in heaven
00:51:20so that we who receive
00:51:21the sacred body
00:51:22and blood of your Son
00:51:23from this altar
00:51:24may be filled
00:51:25with your grace
00:51:26and blessing.
00:51:28Remember, Lord,
00:51:29our brothers and sisters

00:51:42find happiness,
00:51:43light, and peace,
00:51:44and we who trust
00:51:45in your love
00:51:46also ask me to include
00:51:47in the fellowship
00:51:48of your holy apostles,
00:51:49martyrs, and saints
00:51:50who offered their lives
00:51:51to you.
00:51:52They were filled
00:51:52with your justice
00:51:53and mercy,
00:51:54and because they lived
00:51:55in accord with the teachings
00:51:57of Jesus
00:51:57gained eternal joy.
00:51:59Count us among them,
00:52:00Father,
00:52:01not because of what
00:52:02we truly deserve,
00:52:03but because you are
00:52:04willing to forgive us.
00:52:05We ask this in the name
00:52:06of your Son,
00:52:07Jesus Christ,
00:52:08by whom you give us
00:52:09all these gifts.
00:52:10You fill them
00:52:11with life and goodness.
00:52:12You bless them
00:52:13and make them holy.
00:52:17Through him,
00:52:19with him,
