00:00Let's get over some Major League Baseball today, Joe, particularly in the afternoon today.
00:04Kansas City on the road to take on Detroit.
00:06Don't look now.
00:07Detroit's actually won five games in a row.
00:09The lefty on the mound for Kansas City is going to be Bubich.
00:12Keiter Montero, the right-handed pitcher, is going to be on the mound today for those Tigers.
00:15Overnight, roughly a pick-em, Joe.
00:17Minus 115s, minus 116s, minus 112s out there in the betting landscape.
00:21Still currently sits at that respect right now.
00:23Eight for the totals today, Joe.
00:25Kansas City in a red-hot Detroit Tigers team.
00:28Yeah, well, listen, Bubich is a guy that can stop you, that's for sure.
00:33And they're going to need him to do just that because the Royals are hemorrhaging.
00:37But Montero, listen, kind of a fifth starter, guy that didn't start the year on the roster, got called up.
00:44But certainly in two starts already, Donnie, he's been pretty decent.
00:49And the way the Royals are swinging the bat, there's no reason to think that Montero can't dominate here.
00:54It does feel like, in a getaway day, Donnie, this is definitely an under and a, looks like it's going
01:01to be a cold day at Comerica.
01:03So I wouldn't be expecting a ton of runs in this game.
01:06Take a look at Baltimore and Cleveland.
01:08Bolls will be on the mound taking on Messick, the left-handed pitcher.
01:10Overnight, we're looking at around a minus 135 price as the favorite to the home team, Guardians, Joe.
01:15Slightly less now, 125s and 126s here in the sports landscape, but a total that's listed at eight.
01:21Weather conditions for 6 p.m. tonight in Cleveland, 65 degrees with a light wind blowing out to right field.
01:27Guardians and the Orioles, Joe, any spread line for you in this one?
01:31Well, the advantage, Guardians here, Donnie, because the O's, I mean, emptied the bullpen yesterday.
01:38Another extra inning game they had to deal with.
01:41I think they used five relievers in that spot.
01:44Then they had to hop on a plane and head to the Guardians right now, who are a little feisty
01:50there right now.
01:52And Messick has been a pleasant surprise for the Guardians.
01:56The Guardians lost the series to the Cardinals, but they're going to be more than happy to get home and
02:02take on a, listen,
02:04Baz better go seven, eight innings because that bullpen is shot right now for the O's.
02:08I think it's big advantage, Guardians here in this one.
02:12Late night action, which actually isn't too late night tonight.
02:14The latest game on the card at 8.40 p.m. Eastern start.
02:17That's going to be Seattle and San Diego.
02:19Castillo's going to be on the mound, the veteran righty for the Mariners going up against Walker Bueller.
02:23Bueller hasn't been that good for the Padres, but I'll tell you this, seven games in a row,
02:28win streak for those San Diego Padres on the line tonight.
02:31If you take a look at the overnight numbers, around a minus 115 price as the favorite towards the road
02:35team Mariners, Joe.
02:36But now we're seeing that price slightly higher at roughly minus 120 at just about every outlet here.
02:42And a total that's listed at eight and a half.
02:44Red hot San Diego back in action tonight against the M's.
02:49Absolutely epic meltdown by the Mariners bullpen last night, who entered the ninth inning, Donnie, with a four, what, four
02:57run lead?
02:58They gave up five runs to the Padres in the bottom of ninth, and Jackson Merrill walks it off to
03:05cap that five run ninth inning.
03:07And the Padres beat the Mariners 7-6.
03:09Now they're going to go at it again.
03:11And the bullpen of the Mariners is in bad shape right now, Donnie.
03:14A lot of arms had to be used in this series.
03:17And right now, who's stepping in front of this Padres train?
03:20Not me.
03:21Yeah, a lot of interesting stuff going on across Major League Baseball.
03:24And if you haven't been paying attention here, those New York Metropolitans, they've lost eight games in a row.
03:30And it's always tough when you start that losing streak, then go into Los Angeles and absolutely get manhandled.
03:35But there are some teams that are streaking, as we just talked about, seven straight wins for the San Diego
03:40Padres.
03:40Just trying to keep close to those Los Angeles Dodgers.
03:44Other outlets here, you've got five games in a row for the Detroit Tigers that we talked about.
03:47And five wins in a row, Joe.
03:49Don't look now for the Tampa Bay Rays that are still about a 10-1 price, depending where he's shopping
03:53at, to win their division.
03:55Everybody threw the Rays away to start the season.
03:57They currently sit in first place in the AL East.
03:59How about that?
04:00And how about Donnie Wright's side and Joe Ranieri on a Thursday?
04:04Action back, Joe, on the early line.
04:05And we'll be right back in.
04:07How do you win seven games in a row, Joe?
04:10Well, sometimes you need to have some comebacks.
04:12Sometimes you need some extra victories.
04:14And a few walk-offs to be in your back pocket.
04:16Yesterday, the Padres knocked off the Mariners 7-6.
04:19And here's Jackson Merrill talking about his post-game walk-off.
04:23Jackson, a comeback for the ages.
04:25What just happened?
04:26I mean, that's our team right there.
04:29You don't see anything like that around the league.
04:31You know, we've got all that heart, all that grit.
04:32That was just exciting.
04:34Lefty on lefty.
04:35Two strikes on you.
04:36How did you shoot it down the line?
04:38Just stay short, stay tight.
04:39You know, put the bat on the ball.
04:40His tough lefty just tried to get a good pitch to hit, and he gave me one.
04:43Down by four.
04:44One of the best closers in the game on the mound, Andres Munoz.
04:47What did you see from your at-bats in that ninth inning?
04:50Yeah, man.
04:50We gave it all we had.
04:51You know, a lot of two strikes in that inning.
04:53You know, I think I'm one of the only people that didn't get two strikes with Ramon.
04:56So, you know, shout out to Toddy coming off the bench, getting the sack flag in and started.
04:59Gave us some momentum.
05:00You know, we didn't look back.
05:01Seven wins in a row.
05:02You guys continue to roll.
05:04What's going so right for this team right now?
05:07I mean, there's so much heart in that clubhouse.
05:09We love each other like there's nothing else.
05:11You know, so many brothers.
05:12I feel like the team's all in one piece, and that's the most important part of us.
05:15You've had a lot of big moments in the early part of your major league career.
05:19Where does this one rank?
05:20It's up there, man.
05:21I mean, being down like that and coming back and, you know, getting the winning hit, I can't take all
05:25the credit, though.
05:25That was a beautiful game.
05:27Beautiful, hard-fought game.
05:28And, you know, shout out to our team.
05:30Shout out to the guys.
05:31Jackson, what a rally.
05:32What a moment.
05:33What an ending.
05:34Thanks so much.
05:34Thank you, guys.
05:36By the way, here's what I need from this.
05:38Like, I don't need the clip being run again.
05:40Can you just put up a picture of Jackson Merrill talking to the reporter after the game?
05:44Can you just put that up on the screen, Joe?
05:46Because I got a question for you, which I think is pretty funny if we can find that.
05:49It's going to pop up in a second here.
05:52Like, look at the microphone.
05:54Are there explicit lyrics on the microphone, Joe, that we can't read?
05:58Offensive?
05:59No comment, Donnie.
06:01No comment.
06:03How windy is it?
06:04I'm just curious.
06:06In San Diego.
06:08Like, what is – I have no idea what's going on with that, Donnie.
06:11No idea what's going on with that.
06:12I didn't hear a word he said, Joe.
06:13I just looked at the microphone the entire time and said, boy, oh, boy, somebody doesn't want to get that
06:17out there.
06:17I wouldn't have talked into it.
06:18And if I'm Jackson Merrill, I'm like, get that – absolutely not.
06:23Get that thing out of my face.
06:25Thanks.
06:26Take your windscreen here.
06:27He's amazing.
06:28Major baseball.
06:29Fantastic.
06:29So, by the way, the Texas Rangers, a little bit of controversy here, Joe.
06:32The Rangers have unveiled a controversial new statue modeled after Jay Banks,
06:36a former Texas law enforcement officer known for enforcing school segregation.
06:41How about that from The Athletic yesterday?
06:44Yeah, I believe somebody's losing their job today, Donnie.
06:47That's what I'm believing.
06:49Yeah, just self-awareness is sometimes just absolutely lacking across the board here in these spots.
06:57It's amazing to me.
06:58By the way, I'm pretty sure that they didn't make the statue yesterday and just put it up hastily out
07:02of nowhere.
07:03It's probably in the works for, like, years at this point.
07:05So, go figure, Major League Baseball.
07:08You got a headache on your hands with that one here.
07:09Jeff Passon, how about this tweet?
07:11The Major League Baseball Players Association fired Chief Operating Officer Xavier James
07:16and its Head of Human Resources, Michael O'Neill, with calls, Joe, which means they don't want to get paid.
07:22The firings came after an internal investigation spurred by the DOJ looking into the MLBPA.
07:28Not a good look with a lot of upheaval in the players' union before the biggest contract negotiations you might
07:34see in your lifetime in Major League Baseball coming up this December.
07:39Right, so you're telling me all that unions are corrupt?
07:42Come on.
07:43Are you telling me the people are supposed to be taking care?
07:46Don't take care?
07:47That's a shocker, Donnie.
07:48You almost never hear of that with unions, ever.
07:52Expansion, Joe, on the minds in the NBA and just about everywhere else.
07:56Why?
07:56Because sometimes it's not good for the sport other than, you're telling me you're going to give me an extra
08:00couple hundred million dollars in my back pocket as an owner and I don't have to do anything for it
08:04here?
08:04Yeah, how about this?
08:05Breaking news.
08:06Mayor Ken Sim is calling for the launch of a bidding process to bring Major League Baseball expansion to Vancouver.
08:13We see an opportunity to position Vancouver as the next home for a Major League Baseball franchise here.
08:18Joe, money talks, BS walks.
08:21Do we think Vancouver will be able to get a Major League Baseball team?
08:25Listen, it's a beautiful city, man.
08:28Our own Gabe Marenzi is there, right?
08:31And, I mean, hey, it's a sports town, believe it or not.
08:35I mean, they've been trying to get a team back to Montreal forever, right?
08:38Get another team to Canada.
08:40Why not Vancouver?
08:41Although, it can be interesting watching the Marlins fly to Vancouver to play a three-game set.
08:46That'll be interesting.
08:48How about this next one, Joe?
08:50You're going to like this here, right?
08:51Steve Cohen's got more money than just about anybody here.
08:54And it turns out you can't just buy your way into relevancy in Major League Baseball and win playoff series
08:59and world championships here.
09:01I read this tweet the other day, and also, like, if I'm a fan and I see the owner tweet
09:06this out late at night, I'm getting pretty fired up.
09:08He quotes here, Joe.
09:09Nobody likes to lose, but I saw some, quote, green shoots tonight, which I have no idea what that means.
09:14On offense, Lindor had two hits, including a home run.
09:17And, by the way, that was a game where they scored one run.
09:20And the owner's like, hey, man, saw some good things out there amidst our almost double-digit losing streak now.
09:27Amazing, right?
09:28Like, everyone, like, just everyone settle down.
09:30It'll be fine.
09:31Just have some patience with, yeah, no.
09:33You want New York Met fans to have patience.
09:36That's hilarious.
09:38Yeah, not good.
09:39Not good at all, Donnie.
09:41And can we be honest?
09:42I don't think it's getting better anytime soon either.
09:45No, probably not at this point.
09:47But, by the way, the money, hey, we have a two-for-one ticket price package with hot dogs here.
09:51Come out and enjoy the ballpark.
09:52Stop it here.
09:53Just put a team on the field that those fans can actually get excited for.
09:57Yes.
09:57Or maybe win once a week, Joe, at this point for the Mets.
10:00That's all they're asking for at this point.
10:02Red Sox' Jaron Duran, if you haven't been following along, how about this story?
10:06Quote, somebody just told me to kill myself.
10:09I'm used to it at this point.
10:10I mean, blank happens.
10:12I mean, I'm going to flip somebody off if they say something to me.
10:15But it is what it is.
10:16I shouldn't react like that.
10:17But that kind of stuff is still kind of triggering, so it happens.
10:20Now, most people sit back and say, you're used to it.
10:22You're a pro.
10:23Shut it off.
10:23Let me tell you this.
10:24I don't know how many times you would walk down the street or be at your job where you
10:27are getting heckled here, and you might be upset because you're struggling at the plate,
10:32and you snap at this point.
10:33Humans are humans.
10:34They say vile things to other human beings.
10:36You try to be on your best.
10:38But every once in a while, Joe, it just gets to you.
10:41It really does, Donnie.
10:43And these guys, listen, I mean, they are front and center, right?
10:47They're going to take everybody's anger across the board here.
10:52And it's just, you know, sometimes it gets to you.
10:54You've got to have some thick skin to be a player here in this day and age.
10:59Although I don't know that that's changed over the years, Donnie.
11:02I think you always have had to have some thick skin and be able to tune it out.
11:06You need some thick skin if you're walking around Philadelphia, particularly post-COVID.
11:09It used to be Center City, Philadelphia.
11:11You can walk around.
11:12You can get a nice meal.
11:13Not really the case at some points right now.
11:15And how about this?
11:16An umpire working the Arizona Diamondbacks Philadelphia Phillies series was assaulted
11:21and robbed and his phone stolen.
11:22Took a couple punches here.
11:24But how about this?
11:25He didn't miss any time.
11:26He got robbed, assaulted, and stolen from.
11:29Still showed up for work, Joe.
11:32That's it.
11:32Yeah, all in a day.
11:33No load management, Donnie?
11:35Is that not how it works?
11:36No load management.
11:37Just show up.
11:38Get it done, right?
11:39You're not keeping me for an amazing, that kind of work ethic.
11:42Shocker.
11:43By the way, you know, sometimes it's like, hey, man, if you're going to steal my wallet,
11:46just take the money out of it and give me back the credit cards and the license because
11:48it's such a pain in the neck to get it done.
11:51I can't imagine.
11:52I've never lost.
11:53Have you lost a cell phone, Joe, before?
11:55Like stolen or just lost it at all?
11:56I've never.
11:57I would be in full-blown panic mode.
12:00Like my entire life has just been thrown away.
12:02There's never.
12:02I'm not going to remember phone numbers at this point.
12:05I'm not going to remember text messages or anything that I have there.
12:08Have you ever had that before?
12:09No.
12:10I have had, Donnie, where I thought I have lost my phone and the sheer panic and, you
12:18know, the ripping out of the guts and the hole in your stomach for that brief moment while
12:23you're trying to figure out where it is.
12:25Then you eventually feel it and you're like, all right, I got to take the rest of the day
12:28off.
12:29Like this, this was too much.
12:30This was just way too traumatic here.
12:32But yeah, no, I've never actually had to go through replacing the phone, but I have
12:37lost it at moments and it's been, yeah, it's been scary.
12:41Yeah.
12:42Yeah.
12:42Somebody call my cell phone here and then it's like, yeah, you have your ringer off.
12:46Like, good luck trying to go find that at this point.
12:48I had it with wallets as well, Joe.
12:50It's like, hey, you know what?
12:51I have my wallet, my console.
12:52I thought I put it here.
12:53You walk around the house for 15 minutes.
12:55Then you're like, I lost my wallet.
12:56That's good.
12:57I have three credit cards in there, two debit cards.
12:59You have to replace it all.
13:00They're going to cancel my checking accounts.
13:02And then when you find it, it's like the greatest day of your life.
13:05Like, oh my goodness.
13:06Thank God that wasn't going at this point.
13:07But hey, if you're an umpire, watch out in center city, Philadelphia.
13:11Now, sometimes you might think like the umpire leaving the ballpark itself.
13:13You're like, hey, we're going to come beat you up because you had a bad game.
13:16Like, no, dude was just trying to get a bite to eat.
13:18And a rando comes by, sneaks him, knocks him down and steals his cell phone.
13:22But he still showed up to work.
13:24It's an American hero right there.
13:25We'll be back after this short break.
13:32No NBA action, Joe.
13:34So we're probably looking towards Major League Baseball.
13:37Where do we go tonight for you for a best bet?
13:39Well, Donnie, I'm going to go, which seems a little contradictory since they just scored,
13:44what, 11 runs last night.
13:46But how about we go to Sutter Park there out in Sacramento and take an under and go a little
13:52contrarian here.
13:54And why?
13:54Well, this is a 12 noon their time start on a getaway game here with Leiter and Lopez going
14:01here.
14:02And Leiter has done a great job of keeping the ball down and keeping the ball on the ground.
14:08And that's important in this spot here, Donnie, because you don't want anybody getting any
14:11lift.
14:12But understand, it's not 95 degrees in Sacramento right now.
14:16It's barely 60 degrees.
14:18So early afternoon start after a late game last night, getaway game.
14:22It all spells an under for me here.
14:25I'm going down to Houston tonight, and I'm actually going to take an over, Joe, and that's
14:29between the Houston Astros and the Colorado Rockies.
14:31Take a look at Sagano on the mound for the Colorado Rockies, really struggling against
14:35right-handed batters.
14:36But the Houston Astros have been clubbing right-handed pitching as of late.
14:40The anticipated lineup has seven of the nine batters with plus weighted on base percentages
14:44against right-handed pitching.
14:46If I flip it over to the Colorado Rockies starting pitch, excuse me, the Houston Astros starting
14:51pitcher, Ryan Weiss.
14:52Not very good statistics through 56 batters, and solid statistics against right-handed pitching
14:57for the batters of the Colorado Rockies.
14:59To me, I'm taking the over, Joe.
15:01Eight and a half between the Rockies and the Astros.
15:03It's a bounce back Thursday for the boys, and we are ready to go.
15:07But the fun doesn't stop here.
15:08Prediction, market edge on the early line, comes up next.
15:13Let's flip it over to Major League Baseball.
15:14An early afternoon game between Kansas City and Detroit.
15:17First pitch at 1.10 p.m.
15:19If we look at the pitching matchups here, it's Chris Bubich taking on Keiter, Montero.
15:22By the way, Bubich's ERA this year, 250.
15:25Montero's 1.71.
15:26And how about this?
15:28Currently trading on the Predictive Market Show, 50% Kansas City, 50% Detroit.
15:34How about that?
15:35Yeah, you gotta love it.
15:37But again, another one of these getaway games and situations, Donnie, where it really does
15:42feel like maybe a pitcher's battle here.
15:45I do not trust the lineup here or the offense of the Royals to score enough, even against
15:51Montero, who, to his credit, Donnie, has been actually pretty good here.
15:55And Bubich, the lefty, I mean, let's face it, you know, he is kind of their go-to guy now.
16:02And I think he's going to be able to limit the runs.
16:05It was another, what, 2-1 game last night?
16:09And we're not getting a ton of runs here.
16:11I think the under is the way to look.
16:13Yeah, we'll see what happens.
16:15And again, getaway day is always tricky.
16:16Make sure you're looking at those final lineups when they become official here.
16:19Tonight's game, 6-10 star, it's going to be Baltimore and Cleveland.
16:23Cleveland here is the home team currently trading on the Couchie Marketplace with a 53% chance
16:28to win this game.
16:29Baltimore at 47 cents here.
16:31So if you take a look, as Baltimore is the underdog and you invest $100, Joe, that pays
16:35back 213, some plus money.
16:38If you feel Cleveland on the run line can win by two plus runs, that's currently trading
16:42at 36 cents right now.
16:44Baltimore versus Cleveland, 6-10 first pitch tonight.
16:48Yeah.
16:49I mean, this kid, Messick, for the Guardians, has been absolutely lights out this lefty.
16:54And the Orioles right now, I mean, they don't hit southpaws at all very good here.
17:01And that's the problem, not to mention they've got some injuries.
17:04I mean, Tyler O'Neal, Mountcastle, Adley Rushman, all on the I.L.
17:09That doesn't leave a lot of hope offensively here against, I think, what is going to be
17:14the best pitcher on the Guardians by the time we hit July.
17:18They have a big advantage, but both bullpens have been taxed over the last couple of days.
17:23So I'm more about earliness here with the Guardians.
17:27I think a first five, backing them at home in this spot with a pitching advantage is
17:32the way to look.
17:33And getting started early on offense also, same thing as you would have on a sports book
17:37here.
17:37You can get in the predictive markets.
17:39The Yurfi-Nurfi market, yes run in the first inning, no run in the first inning.
17:42Currently trading to the yes at 46 cents.
17:45So a $100 investment, if they score in inning number one, would pay back $218.
17:50The San Diego Padres winning streak here.
17:53Will it continue?
17:54Walk-off home run last night as we take a look at Jackson, Maryland, hour number one
17:59of the early lines.
18:00Like, yeah, went yard at this point and away we go.
18:02Let's see if they can extend that today.
18:04Seattle, though, however, trading is the favorite, Joe, at 53%.
18:07And you take a look at San Diego at 47%.
18:10Currently a contract on the yes, which means a win tonight for the Padres is at 48 cents,
18:15which means, Joe, $100 investment will pay back $209 if that winning streak continues today.
18:21Well, it's kind of hard.
18:22Are we stepping in front of that train here?
18:25But if I'm Seattle, my goodness.
18:28Like, you had a four-run lead heading into the bottom of the ninth with one of the best
18:33closers in the game in Munoz.
18:35And you forked over five runs and lost it in walk-off fashion.
18:39Tough to come back from that.
18:40And right now, they're just not hitting enough for my taste to look at them, even with a
18:46slight pitching advantage on the mound.
18:48I still think it's the Padres in this one.
18:51Leave out the bullpens, Joe.
18:53Just want to take the first five innings.
18:54You can do that on the Calci Marketplace.
18:56Seattle wins the first five innings tonight.
18:57Forget about the bullpens.
18:58That's currently trading at 51 cents to the contract for a yes.
19:02$100 investment pays back $197.
19:05$200 investment pays back $200.
