00:00Albert Breer, in his column on Sports Illustrated, wrote,
00:04The Jets are looking to move down.
00:08Count the Cardinals.
00:09With their second pick.
00:10With their second pick.
00:11Yeah.
00:11Right.
00:12Count the Cardinals, Titans, Giants, Browns, and Commanders
00:15among those already looking at trying to drop down in the order to accumulate capital.
00:20The problem for those five is finding teams that want to move up.
00:25Daniel Jeremiah went one step further and has a mock draft.
00:30That lays out Washington trading back with the seventh pick
00:35to go back to the Jets' second first rounder at 16.
00:41And then they also would pick up a second rounder, which they currently don't have.
00:45The Commanders have a significant lack of draft capital.
00:49That's not a surprise.
00:50As Adam Peters, I think he's making a point to point it out
00:55because he's said it repeatedly that he's very happy
00:59to not have the second rounder this year if it means he's got Laramie Tunsil.
01:03Like, he's very comfortable with how that trade worked out.
01:08Now, there's a zillion mock drafts.
01:10You can pick whatever choice, right?
01:11At seven, Washington is going to have their option of what many believe
01:18is like a surefire, blue-chip prospect.
01:22At 16, that could be a little different.
01:27But it dovetails with something, Brian, that I find really, really interesting.
01:34The young man Jordan Tyson from Arizona State.
01:40A player that a lot of folks consider to be the best wide receiver prospect
01:44in this draft, but a player that's dealt with injuries on the college level
01:49and, I don't know, maybe some level of questions of how much he's going to play through it.
01:56And I think in an era of NIL and guys getting paid, I mean, you'll know who I'm talking about.
02:05You and I talked to people about certain high school prospects
02:10that won't push through an injury because they know they've got NIL on the other side
02:13when they get to college.
02:16Ben Standing reported the commanders are expected to have a 30 visit.
02:21So the 30 visits, you're allowed to bring up to 30 prospects into your building.
02:25Commanders are expected to have a 30 visit with Jordan Tyson, the Arizona State wide receiver.
02:30And they should.
02:31His range of where he could land is completely wide open, I would say.
02:35He could go 19th.
02:41Would you rather stay at 7 and take Jeremiah Love,
02:47who Louis Riddick just compared to Eric Dam Dickerson,
02:52trade back to 16, get a second rounder,
02:55and maybe be able to take a kid like Jordan Tyson?
02:58See, the thing of it is this, Jay.
03:01They don't have to make the move today.
03:03As the draft goes on, you're going to find out what happens.
03:06If Jeremiah Love is gone,
03:08and one of these other,
03:10he named four or five other top guys,
03:13are about to fall in your lap,
03:16you can still make your pick at 7.
03:18But what if,
03:19let's say, of the four or five,
03:22the three you like are gone.
03:25Then at that point,
03:26when it comes to 7,
03:26you can move back.
03:28Like,
03:30and the thing,
03:31like,
03:31when they come out with this,
03:32I'm not shocked whatsoever,
03:34because I heard Adam say,
03:36I'm listening to everything.
03:38Listening to everything means,
03:39I'm trying to see who's going to fall in our lap,
03:41and I'm also going to try and see,
03:43if they don't fall in our lap,
03:44what's the possibilities?
03:46Who's going to get excited about somebody prior to this draft?
03:49Like,
03:49the Jeremiah Love thing,
03:51Love has been the hot prospect since the beginning.
03:54Other than Mendoza,
03:55he's the guy.
03:56Yeah.
03:58All of a sudden,
03:59some of those guys behind you may really want to come up.
04:02They can probably move back
04:06if Tate drops a little bit,
04:07and possibly get him still,
04:09and move forward.
04:11But I don't,
04:12like,
04:12people always worry about
04:13the position of guys being picked.
04:15If I'm picking him at 7 or 14,
04:18and he has,
04:19and he's injury pro,
04:21I'm concerned.
04:22Because if you draft him at 14,
04:24and he's never there to play,
04:26you're going to get criticized because of it.
04:28It's not like you got him in the 7th round,
04:30and he came in and wasn't playing.
04:32It'll be,
04:32he said,
04:33if he's in the first round,
04:34he needs to come play.
04:35Absolutely.
04:35Can't be hurt.
04:36So that,
04:37I still,
04:37I'll be still a little leery of Tyson.
04:41I'd like Lemon,
04:43the USC kid,
04:44that everybody wants to dismiss as too small,
04:46and a slot guy.
04:48He's 5'11".
04:49A lot of things are,
04:49same height as Terry.
04:50A lot of things are mindsets, man.
04:52It's mindsets,
04:53but I think the thing,
04:54this is the,
04:55this is where I am with people.
04:57People are off of Tate because he ran a 4.52.
05:014.52.
05:024.52 and a 4.48.
05:03It's that far.
05:04Right.
05:05If I run a 4.52 and I'm 5.10,
05:08I run a 4.52,
05:094.48,
05:10and I'm,
05:10I mean,
05:10I run a 4.52 and I'm,
05:11I'm 6.2,
05:12and I'm running a 4.58,
05:13I mean a 4.48,
05:15and I'm 5.10,
05:16and I'm 5.9.
05:17When a guy's running behind me,
05:20it looks different.
05:22That 6'2 guy that does this
05:24can still go up for it.
05:25So,
05:26I know for a fact,
05:28when they look at your 40 time,
05:29they also look at your,
05:30your,
05:31your height
05:32to see how that's going to be displaced.
05:34There are so many quarterbacks in the league
05:35who goes off of a guy because
05:37that 6'2 cornerback following you
05:40make you look covered.
05:41You may be five,
05:42four or five yards in front of him,
05:44but if you're a little taller,
05:45you don't look covered.
05:46Here's my question.
05:50People are talking about trading back,
05:52right?
05:54The player,
05:55that I think that has to be there,
05:57and you're totally correct
05:58that the,
05:59the truest thing
06:01AP told me in Arizona
06:02is we don't know anything.
06:04Yeah.
06:04Because nobody knows
06:05how this is going to shake out.
06:06Totally.
06:06But it is my opinion
06:08that if Washington
06:10is able to trade back,
06:12it's because Jeremiah Love
06:14is there at 7.
06:15I think that is the player
06:17that will generate the interest
06:18to move up.
06:20And so I wonder
06:22if Love is there at 7,
06:25and you can take them,
06:26like you are allowed
06:27to just take the player
06:29or because Love
06:31is there at 7,
06:31you're able to trade
06:33out of the pick
06:34and get a second round pick
06:36that you don't have.
06:38Give yourself a lot more chances,
06:40right?
06:40And you,
06:41I think it's important
06:42to clarify you stay
06:43in the top 20.
06:44You're not dropping
06:44to 28 or something.
06:45Yeah.
06:46But like,
06:47I'll start with Jeff
06:48and I'll open the phones.
06:48800-636-1067,
06:50800-636-1067.
06:53Jeffrey,
06:54you're on the clock.
06:557th overall pick.
06:56Love is still available,
06:57but the Jets are calling
06:59and you can get 16
07:00and I believe 44.
07:04Well,
07:05listening,
07:06listening to what,
07:07me,
07:08I'm still,
07:09if Love available,
07:10me personally,
07:11but I'm not a GM,
07:12I'm taking Love,
07:13I'm taking Best overall,
07:14but listening to what
07:15Adam Peters said
07:17when he said he wanted
07:18to build through the draft,
07:19even though he necessarily
07:20didn't do that,
07:21I think now that he see
07:22that what he tried to do
07:24last year didn't work,
07:25I think he would trade back.
07:27I'm going to go to my guy,
07:28Vic,
07:29in Akiki.
07:30Vic,
07:31you're on the clock,
07:327th overall pick,
07:33Love is there,
07:34and the Jets are on the phone
07:36with 16 and 44.
07:40I'm taking Love,
07:41because I got Jaden Daniels,
07:42and I got a better,
07:43I have a line
07:44that is makeshift
07:46and banged up
07:48as they were last year
07:49with the level of
07:50the wall we hit
07:52with our offensive coordinator,
07:53we were still able
07:54to run the football,
07:55and with Jeremiah Love
07:57being able to do things
07:58that only the running back
07:59can do once they're
08:00in a position
08:01to hit patients
08:03to the hole
08:04and get speed through it,
08:06Jeremiah Love can do that
08:07at a dynamic level,
08:08and he can go yard
08:11from 10 to 20,
08:12hash to hash,
08:14and explode beyond
08:15on the first down mark
08:16and get into the secondary
08:17so he can score.
08:18I'm taking Jeremiah Love.
08:19The only way I'm not,
08:20the only way I'd be willing
08:22to trade back
08:22if everybody
08:24that we've talked about
08:26in the last two months
08:26is gone,
08:28and when I'm trading back,
08:30like Jimmy Johnson said,
08:32there's somebody,
08:33there,
08:33not somebody,
08:34there's some,
08:34there are bodies
08:35on the board
08:36that I want.
08:38He said Dallas
08:39was able to do
08:39what we were able to do
08:40years ago
08:41because we drafted
08:41who we wanted,
08:43and that's the only way
08:44I'm doing it.
08:45I'm taking Jeremiah Love.
08:46Jeremiah Love,
08:47that only helps
08:48Jaden Daniels
08:49from an ability
08:51to simplify the field
08:53and to get chunks of yards
08:55because you have to,
08:55you're occupied
08:56by his legs
08:57and Jeremiah Love's legs,
08:59but now we're able
09:00to control
09:01the possession
09:02of the game
09:03with the defense
09:04that we have now
09:05and the defensive coordinator
09:06that we have now
09:07that can shorten
09:08the field for people.
09:09We can now
09:10make teams
09:11unconfident
09:11about playing football.
09:13That's the idea.
09:14Appreciate you, Vic.
09:15Thanks, buddy.
09:16We'll open the phone lines
09:17up on this.
09:18800-636-1067.
09:20800-636-1067.
09:22Seventh overall pick.
09:23Jeremiah Love's there.
09:25You taking him
09:25or you answering the phone?
