Transcript
00:00Storm Chaser Aaron Rigsby here just south of Odin, Minnesota, where we have a rapidly
00:05developing supercell that has really just come together here in the last hour or so.
00:10The base is getting very wide and broad, the tower continues to extend into the atmosphere
00:15and the lightning has rapidly increased here in just the last 20 minutes or so.
00:20This is the storm that is going to be capable of producing that large hail in excess of
00:242 to 3 inches in diameter and it will have a threat to produce not only tornadoes but
00:30strong tornadoes that are capable of producing damage of EF2 plus type.
00:35This atmosphere that we have in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa right now is very rare for
00:39this time of year.
00:40This is typically something that we see in the southern plains and it's all coming together
00:44here in southern Minnesota and it's going to begin with this storm as it continues to develop
00:49and we're going to follow it as far east as we can before other storms fire behind this
00:53and those will also be capable of producing EF2 plus type tornadoes.
00:58If you're in the path of any of these storms or get under a tornado warning today, you're
01:02going to want to take it very seriously and keep those weather updates on your phone.
01:05We're going to be following it along here over the next several hours.
01:08I'm Aaron Rigsby.
