Heavy snow will create travel headaches in the high passes.
Transcript
00:00Well, we're dealing with another storm system moving into the Northwest with heavy snow coming to the Cascades. Yes, it's
00:06springtime. We're going to be buried in snow at the passes again and also some significant rain. Even thunderstorms will
00:11be entering the forecast for places like Seattle. As we take a look at the most populated areas, the big
00:17cities along Interstate 5 Seattle soaking Tuesday, even some thunderstorms around on Wednesday, some somewhat rare lightning and thunder in
00:25the neighborhood. We're going to bounce back up on Thursday and dry out pretty quickly. But this storm system will
00:29also
00:29beyond the rain, bring that significant snow to the Cascades. I know it's mid-April. Spring comes slowly in those
00:36higher elevations and we're going to build more of that snowpack back here, at least temporarily as this storm rolls
00:41through at midweek. In the higher elevation, significant snow will fall. Some places like some of the Oregon Cascade passes
00:49could see one to two feet of snow. This storm system will bring again some even heavier snow into the
00:55absolute highest elevations of the Cascades. Winter storm warnings are in effect for some.
00:59And then this will also bring some snow. And then this will also bring some snow by the end of
01:02the week to parts of Wyoming and Colorado, potentially even into parts of Denver with obviously the heaviest snow in
01:09the mountains. One other thing to keep in mind, it's going to produce stronger wind on the dry side of
01:13the storm east of the southern Rockies into the southern high plains. Fire danger, a big concern there.
