00:00Hi, my name is David Michael Cray, and today I have a poem for you that I wrote called
00:05Beyond Truth.
00:07It goes like this.
00:09I've come again to a place of questions, waiting so long for answers that haven't come yet.
00:16Again, the dark forces prey on my fragile mind, telling me lies and deception, trying
00:22to turn my righteous indignation towards them away towards God.
00:27But I know what my own eyes have seen coming in grace and power when my Lord entered into
00:33my heart, and spoke a word of love and guidance in me, for me to learn how great his love
00:40and
00:40mercy was for me, and even for my enemies.
00:45Yet he must discipline those that disobey.
00:49Discipline, as all punishment truly is discipline, for those who oppose and for those ready for
00:56growth, yet stuck on some plateau waiting to take the next steps up to glory.
01:02Looking on the mountain of godliness, we are exhorted to try to climb, with God knowing
01:08we would fall short, and yet loving us even before.
01:12My Lord, who now moves me with his Holy Spirit residing within me, will only allow me to go
01:19through this cleansing fire, because he knows I am willing to begin my climb from this place
01:24of stagnant rest towards the great heights he envisions for me.
01:30He offers me the hope of its wondrous rewards, if I but let him place my hands and feet in
01:38the
01:38crevices of his authority, of his love-establishing word.
01:43I will trust in him even if all reason leaves this world, for he is reason's source, and with
01:49it love and truth remains in God, even if it leaves all others.
01:54I will trust in him if the darkness surrounds me, and he will be a light to my path.
02:01Through my climb up this mountain, growing in grace may be hard, yet I know that soon God
02:07will lift me up out of my struggle to his sacred peak.
02:11Trust beyond truth, to truth's source, is the way to true wisdom.
