00:00Hi, my name is David Michael Cray, and today I have a poem for you that I wrote called
00:05Accounted the Divine.
00:07It goes like this.
00:09I've taken the pain, and not much has changed.
00:13This life has been breaking me down.
00:16I've turned from my sins, but seen little begin to change but an invisible crown.
00:22The crown that I have for my darkened path hasn't yet made up for having no light.
00:28And promises made, and what your son paid, haven't ever made it feel all right.
00:35I know that you say you are there, and I know you say that you care, but I fight the
00:41feeling
00:41that seems to remain that no one will take away my pain.
00:46I'm seeing you are the one that I need.
00:49Please, God, won't you please answer me?
00:53I can't prove what you say, and right now I'm weak in my faith.
00:58Though little for that which I've prayed, some change I see you have made.
01:03So I'll trust in Jesus Christ's name.
01:06I've been by your side, but never have I had proof that things would come out all right.
01:13I have been torn, broken, and scorned by what has been out of my sight.
01:18I cannot defend, can't ever depend, on what I have no way to fight.
01:24And worst of all, it seems I might fall, for it feels like I'm losing the light.
01:30The Bible says that you're there, and I know it says that you care, but right now the feeling
01:36remains that no one will lessen my pains.
01:39You say you are the one that I need, so why haven't you answered me?
01:44They say not to let feelings guide, but thoughts don't help from what I've tried.
01:50The word would solve that if I knew how to tell all the lies from the hidden truth.
01:56But I have little on which to base the evidence for this crime case.
02:00The worst of it all, rest assured, is that I can only be murderer or murdered.
02:06For if my sins didn't kill Christ, my conscience will say I must die.
02:12So I guess my best proof of all of God's love and of his holy word's call is that strangely
02:19my shame is gone, although sins certainly went on.
02:23This oddly found new soul of mine is somehow miraculously accounted the divine.
