00:00Hi, my name is David Michael Cray, also known as Crayfish, and today I have a poem for you
00:06that I wrote called Late Heartbeats.
00:08It goes like this.
00:10One misty morning, the sun turned night to day.
00:13Birds at my windows sang nightmares away.
00:16I woke from a dark cloud to majestic hues.
00:20Youth was a blind walk through the time I would lose.
00:25Looking back down dark streets to see yesterday's dreams, all of my heartbeats came too late, it seems.
00:32I know the world won't notice much what now drags me to my knees, but maybe a few late heartbeats
00:39can put their mind at ease.
00:41It's only my shadow I try to refuse, and only late heartbeats that gave me the blues.
00:49But don't let what I'm saying make you think I don't care, for I'll always be praying.
00:55These late heartbeats will be there.
00:59I hope you like this poem.
