00:00Hello Ilana from the Bureau here with your national weather forecast for this
00:03weekend Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th of April let's start and have a
00:08look across the country now through Saturday through the east of the country
00:12tomorrow is the last day that we're going to see these very warm temperatures
00:16through northeast New South Wales and southern parts of Queensland with the
00:19passage of this trough finally making it up towards that neck of the woods now
00:24behind that frontal system we're seeing very cool conditions quite a wintry
00:28blast through the southeast where we'll see showers snow to low levels and even
00:33maybe some hail now out west of the country this low pressure trough will be
00:39deepening and that will bring some showers and gusty thunderstorms to parts
00:43of Western Australia let's now take a look state by state starting with
00:47Queensland Queensland is looking like like it will have another dry and mostly
00:52sunny day so we could see a little bit of morning fog through eastern parts now the
00:57only areas that could see some showers will be coastal areas around the north
01:00tropical coast or up towards the Cape York Peninsula but otherwise we're really
01:04looking at quite a dry day now temperatures will start to drop through the
01:09far inland but still looking at warm temperatures particularly about the
01:13southeast so Brisbane a sunny day and a top of 33 now into New South Wales where we
01:19see the cold front moving its way up the far north so we'll still see some warm
01:24temperatures up there and maybe some showers and thunderstorms as well the
01:28other area where we could see a little bit of rain and maybe even some snow is
01:32actually in the far south and through near the alpine areas elsewhere though it's
01:37quite a dry day through New South Wales and behind that front we're seeing
01:41temperatures really start to come down to about 48 degrees below average so
01:47Sydney after some temperatures in the mid 30s will now be seeing a top of 27
01:51degrees and Canberra quite a wintry day with the top of 16 now into Victoria where
01:58we'll see these very wintry cold conditions coming through in this cool
02:02west south westerly flow now we'll see some cloud and shower activity in the
02:07southern half of the state however through the north it will be mostly clear we may
02:12also see some snow down to about 1,000 meters during the day for Melbourne 17
02:18degrees and a few showers possible into Tasmania where we'll see showers
02:24starting in the west but becoming quite widespread throughout the day with the
02:28passage of this secondary cold front moving through now again it's very cool
02:33in Tasmania we could see snow as low as 700 meters during tomorrow morning
02:38lifting slightly during the day and we could also see some hail particularly about
02:43western parts of the state Hobart will be showery with a top of 13 now through
02:49South Australia where we will still see a few showers through the agricultural
02:54areas but they will contract further south later in the day generally we're
02:59seeing cooler than average conditions for April including for the north but it
03:04will still be sunny through interior parts for Adelaide though it will be 18
03:08degrees and we may see a few showers now into Western Australia where we see this
03:14trough that will be deepening down the west coast now that system will start to
03:18bring some gusty thunderstorms to parts of the Pilbara Gascoigne Goldfields and
03:24even making its way down to parts of the southwest land division however those
03:28storms won't make it as far down south as Perth Perth will see a sunny day and a
03:33top of 30 degrees now in for the Northern Territory we are seeing quite a
03:38dry day as these south easterly winds move in so we could still see a few
03:43showers here and there about the top end and up towards the Tiwi Islands but
03:47otherwise really quite dry including for Darwin which will be mostly fine and we'll
03:52see a top of 33 degrees now if we have a look into Sunday to round off the
03:57weekend generally we're looking at quite a similar weather pattern in particular
04:02through the southeast where we continue to see these cool wintry conditions so
04:07Melbourne will see 16 degrees Hobart 13 degrees both of them could see showers
04:11Sydney will see a drop down to just 23 degrees but a dry day now out west Perth
04:18will see a top of 31 and may see an isolated thunderstorm during the day up
04:23north it will be warm and sunny for Brisbane a top of 32 and Darwin will see a
04:27top of 34 degrees that's all for our national weather forecast as always
