00:05Nine teenagers were charged on April 6, 2026 after a stolen police car was
00:11found in Townsville, Queensland. An unmarked police car was found parked
00:16near the Bruce Highway at Alligator Creek. Meanwhile, nearby officers deployed
00:21tyre deflation devices on a number of other vehicles in the area that had been
00:26reported as likely stolen. Several occupants of two of the alleged stolen
00:30vehicles attempted to flee on foot. Two offenders were arrested on the spot, while
00:36another five were located later at Sherbourne. One person was taken into
00:41custody and released without charge. The alleged offenders, aged between 14 and 18,
00:47were issued a range of charges, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, assault
00:52occasioning bodily harm, serious assault of a police officer and theft.
