00:00Hello, Ilana from the Bureau with your national weather forecast for tomorrow, Thursday the 9th
00:05of April. Let's start by taking a look across the country where we'll see our main weather system
00:09of interest tomorrow is going to be in the south where we'll see a cold front and prefrontal trough
00:15sweep across the southeastern states. Now this weather system is going to bring an increase in
00:20showers, thunderstorms and windy conditions to the south of the country. However, through the north
00:26we'll see a continuation of this warm and dry air really dominating through the interior but we will
00:32still see a few showers and thunderstorms up in the northwest top end. We are of course still monitoring
00:38severe tropical cyclone mylar. Now through tomorrow severe tropical cyclone mylar will continue its
00:43southwestwards trajectory however it will remain well offshore of Australia into Thursday and for
00:50the next few days. So let's now take a look state by state starting in Queensland. In Queensland we are
00:56looking at quite a dry and settled day. So we'll see some patches of fog about the east and then
01:02we'll
01:02also see some isolated showers developing around Mackay, the Whitsundays and up towards the north
01:07tropical coast there as well. Elsewhere across the state it's really looking hot and dry particularly
01:13through the interior through the central and southern interior where temperatures are well above average
01:19for this time of year. In Brisbane we're looking at a mostly sunny day and a top of 30 degrees.
01:25So into New South Wales now where we'll see quite a variety of weather throughout Thursday.
01:31So through southern parts of New South Wales we'll see an increase in cloud showers and thunderstorms
01:36and we'll also see winds start to increase. Now northwesterly winds will particularly start to
01:41increase about the alpine areas later into the evening period. Through central and northern parts of New
01:48South Wales however it is looking at like quite a clear and dry day. That includes for Sydney which
01:54is looking warm and mostly sunny with the top of 29. Canberra however we'll see a couple of those
02:00showers and we're looking at a top of 26. Now into Victoria where we're seeing showers and thunderstorms
02:06really extending across much of the state throughout Thursday. We could see some gusty thunderstorms
02:13and even outside of showers and storms we are looking at quite a windy day. Now that will be in
02:19particular about the northeast alpine areas of Victoria where we're likely to see some damaging wind
02:24gusts developing. For Melbourne it will be a windy day. We'll see some showers and even possibly a storm
02:30or two and we're looking at a top of 26. Now into Tasmania where we'll see showers starting to develop
02:37in the northwest and then extending south and eastwards throughout the day. We may even see a storm or two
02:43developing about the northeast or Furnow Islands. For Hobart we'll see a top of 22 and a possible late
02:50shower. Into South Australia now where we'll continue to see cloud showers and storms through the
02:57agricultural areas and southern parts of the pastoral districts as well. However inland it will remain
03:03hot and dry. A little bit cooler further south including for Adelaide where we'll see a top of 23
03:10and possibly a few showers. Now into Western Australia where we see an continued risk of showers and gusty
03:18storms through from central parts all the way down extending into the Eucla. Now it will be dry across
03:24much of the state but we could still see a few isolated showers in the far south through the Albany
03:29and Esperance regions. However those showers won't extend as far north as Perth which is looking at
03:36a mild day and a top of 24. Up in the Northern Territory we're seeing some dry air start to
03:43move in
03:43from the southeast which means we're seeing a contraction of area of showers and thunderstorms
03:48over the next few days. Tomorrow though we still will see some showers and storms about the top end
03:54particularly about the northwest top end. So for Darwin a top of 32, some showers and still the
04:00possibility of a storm. Different though for Alice in central Australia it will be hot and dry so for
04:06Alice sunny and a top of 32. That's all for our national weather forecast as always if you'd like some
