00:00We're into flight day eight, and the mission continues to go well as the crew prepares to transition back to
00:07Earth.
00:08Earth will continue to grow in the frame as we are targeting Splashdown now in two days, one hour, and
00:1316 minutes.
00:15The crew of Artemis II has begun its flight home after nearly 10 days in space,
00:20having travelled further from Earth than anyone ever has before.
00:25We all just had that weird vibe of packing up and we were getting sad.
00:30The mission was the world's first lunar exploration in more than half a century.
00:34We have loved living in Orion. We are bumping into each other 100% of the time, but it's also
00:41really fun.
00:42On April 6, the crew reached the milestone, clocking over 406,771 kilometres away from Earth.
00:51In a now viral 13-minute clip released online, the crew can be seen looking increasingly uncomfortable
00:58as the president continues making questionable claims about saving the U.S. Space Agency from closing down
01:04and referencing his friendship with retired Canadian ice hockey player Wayne Gretzky.
01:09And Canadians are so proud to be a part of this programme.
01:14Well, I have to say I spoke to a very special person, Wayne Gretzky, who I think you know, the
01:19great one.
01:21And I spoke to your prime minister and many other friends I have in Canada.
01:25They are so proud of you and you have a lot of courage.
01:29I'm not sure if they'd want to do that.
01:31I'm not even sure if the great one would want to do that, to be honest with you.
01:34But you have a lot of courage doing what you're doing, a lot of bravery and a lot of genius.
01:40But they're very, very proud of you.
02:44Administrator, I'm going to just get a quick comm check, make sure you guys are still on
02:48the line and we didn't have a handover.
02:50I am.
02:51Yes, I am.
02:54The NASA astronauts are expected to splash down at 6.30 p.m. USA time on Friday, April
03:0110th, 2026.
03:02There's a lot that our brains have to process.
03:05Human minds should not go through what these just went through.
03:08And it is a true gift.
03:10I've actually been thinking about entry since April 3rd, 2023, when we got assigned to this
03:15mission.
03:15I haven't even begun to process what we've been through.
03:20We've still got two more days and the atmosphere is profound as well.
