00:00Hi Dr Manil, my name is Lucy, I'm from the Canberra Times.
00:04I know you've just been in the inquiry. Can you tell us anything about what was said or whether you'll
00:08be continuing in the role despite these misconduct findings?
00:15Can you tell us if you'll agree that you misled the board when you didn't tell them about the investigation
00:20that was underway at your hiring?
00:22I can't really make a comment.
00:23Are you filming?
00:30You may have seen that Dr Margot McNeill, who is the current Chief Executive for the Canberra Institute of Technology,
00:37or CIT, has been in the news recently.
00:40It was revealed a few weeks ago that her former employer, TAFE NSW, made misconduct findings against her and that
00:49she had breached their code of conduct while she was employed with them.
00:52Now these findings came out after she had already started at CIT and there are now questions around how much
01:00the CIT board knew of these allegations, whether they knew she was under investigation when she was hired, and it's
01:07still unclear what these exact allegations are.
01:09Dr McNeill has also taken this to court, so it's not clear exactly where these findings will land, but it
01:16leaves lots of questions for the ACT.
01:19The Legislative Assembly is currently conducting an inquiry and they're expecting to publish a report into their findings in early
01:26May.
