00:46And here's the story of what these women did from KHOU TV.
00:50Yeah, employees here at La Dulce Nail Spa tell me those two women actually sat in these two chairs getting
00:56what they call top of the line services.
00:58But when it was time to pay, that's when they say things quickly escalated.
01:04Yeah, so they were sitting here, number eight and number nine right here.
01:08Owner On Lee says last Thursday, two women walked in, sat down and asked for a manicure and pedicure each.
01:14They get everything that the top of the service can get.
01:17Racking up a total of about $450.
01:20But when it came time to pay, he says one woman claimed she needed to grab her credit card.
01:25And one girl walked out the car first and they get the car ready to turn around right here.
01:29And then one girl ran out from the store.
01:32Outside security cameras capture that moment showing a woman on the phone quickly walking out the front door.
01:38And several employees running after her trying to stop them.
01:41I was shot at first, you know, I was never thought it was going to happen here.
01:46Cell phone video captures what happened next.
01:49As that same woman tries to get into the car from the passenger side before climbing into the backseat and
01:54the car takes off.
01:56The owner says at one point the driver allegedly threatened to hurt his employees.
02:01You know, my employee, they were shocked.
02:03As a small business owner, how upsetting is this?
02:07It was very upsetting for me because, you know, we work hard for this.
02:12In this Tombaugh area, it took me over a year to open.
02:17Now, police are looking to identify the two women, including whether the gray Hyundai Elantra is connected to them.
02:23And whether they may be linked to similar theft of service cases in the Houston area.
02:27Tombaugh police say there are steps businesses can take to protect themselves, including requiring payment up front,
02:34keeping a card on file, requiring ID and using an electronic sign in system.
02:39That way, that ensures that they've been identified.
02:41And in case they just decide they don't want to pay or whatever, then they'll at least have their information.
02:46But one thing he stresses.
02:48Now, what should business owners or employees not do?
02:52Never ever try to stop people that's fleeing from your business.
02:57It's too dangerous and it's too big of a risk for your safety.
