00:00April Fool's Day is here.
00:01I have to say, thanks to Instagram, parenting has become so much more difficult because every holiday, there is this
00:12expectation that your kids have for what's going to be gone.
00:17I mean, and honestly, the thing that put me over the top was building a little trap for a leprechaun
00:24for St. Patrick's Day when my kids were little.
00:27And it was like, they all of a sudden were freaking out the night before St. Patrick's Day saying that
00:32they had to build this trap.
00:33Build a trap.
00:34Yeah.
00:35I mean, come on, people.
00:36I'm not crafty.
00:37I'm already hearing that for the Easter Bunny, too, that people want to try to capture the Easter Bunny.
00:41I'm like, he's bringing you eggs.
00:43You can't capture the Easter Bunny.
00:45You can't catch me.
00:46Not EB, baby.
00:47Not EB.
00:48Can't do it.
00:49So today is April Fool's Day.
00:52And that means that if you're a parent, you've got to do the thing.
00:56You've got to do something if you have littles, because otherwise they're going to be going to school.
01:00Their friends are going to be like, oh, yeah, this is what my mom did.
01:04She's the best.
01:05And you want your kids to be saying that about you.
01:07Yeah, 100%.
01:08So I have some things that you can do for April Fool's Day.
01:11This is our cup of joy.
01:12It's going to bring joy to your life.
01:14The last one is the best one.
01:16Okay.
01:17Okay.
01:17So one, minty Oreos.
01:19This to me is sacrilegious, but I know a lot of people do it.
01:22But scrape out the middle of the Oreo, put toothpaste in there.
01:27And I mean, like, I don't know how you intentionally mess with an Oreo, but especially like the double
01:33stuffs, right?
01:33Like it can be done.
01:35Maybe only do it for one or two.
01:37Yeah.
01:38And just slide them in the pack.
01:39But the advantage for you is you then get to eat.
01:42I'm going to eat that cream.
01:43The stuffing.
01:43Yeah.
01:44I'm going to eat that cream for sure.
01:46Um, okay.
01:47Here's one that I found making a veggie cake.
01:50So like you bake a cake like you normally would, but then just like throw a piece of
01:54broccoli in there somewhere.
01:56Love.
01:56So suddenly you get a piece of cake and it's got a big hunk of broccoli.
02:00Right.
02:01I mean, it doesn't hurt anything.
02:02It's not bad for you.
02:03That's incredible.
02:04That's smart.
02:05That might be a really funny thing to do for dessert tonight.
02:07Like, oh, mama baked a cake.
02:10You know.
02:10Yeah.
02:10Um, okay.
02:13And then finally, I'm going to go to this, the best one.
02:15And that is just putting googly eyes on everything.
02:18That's funny.
02:19Now, granted, it's too late for you to do that this morning.
02:21But once you send those kids off to school, you're going to run over to a store, right?
02:27Like Michael's or whatever, whatever is still around.
02:30Buy those googly eyes, put it on the milk, put it on the cheese sticks, put googly eyes
02:37on everything so that when your kids come home from school, especially as they're getting
02:40their snacks, everything in your refrigerator is looking at them.
02:42It's all a lie.
02:45It's genius.
02:46I have so many googly eyes because my wife's a former teacher.
02:49We have more googly eyes.
02:51I mean, I'm glad I explained that.
02:52So it's not like something weird going on at the house.
02:55I mean, like, listen, we're not going to judge you for your.
02:58I do that on the daily basis just because I talk to everything anyway.
03:02Yeah.
03:03So I might as well put eyes on them so they can at least look at me.
03:05I love that.
03:07Yes.
03:08It's like forky.
03:09Should I go talk to somebody?
03:11Imaginary friend.
