00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Some cooler nights coming up but by day some brighter weather which is good news after all the cloud that we have seen today.
00:11This weather front here will straddle more southern areas through Wednesday and that means the clouds will be slow to clear here and even some dampness in the air.
00:20But notice these blues trying to migrate down towards the North Sea through Wednesday into Thursday and an onshore breeze keeping temperatures along this eastern and northern side a little lower than last week.
00:32So some cooler conditions and where we see that cloud temperatures will struggle as well.
00:37But at least as we head through Wednesday as well as Thursday some brighter weather coming through.
00:42High pressure extending from the northwest.
00:44Currently though we do have a brisk wind coming in from the North Sea delivering that cloud and also some patchy rain and drizzle overnight.
00:53Showers across the west country will tend to fade away and clearer skies just slowly migrate across more northern areas of Scotland where temperatures could dip down to single figures.
01:04Through the early hours of the morning then temperatures holding up yet again across southern areas 15 degrees Celsius.
01:10But across the northeast of Scotland 7 to 10 Celsius 13 for Belfast but inland here even as low as around 12 if not 11.
01:20First thing then on Wednesday morning we hang on to some clouds first thing across central and southern areas of England and much of Wales east coast as well.
01:29Brighter skies from the word go across central parts of Scotland and the sun will come out across northern Ireland.
01:34But notice this cloud eroding on its northern edge so the sun will emerge across central southern England through the afternoon and even further south.
01:43So a bright end to the day with sunny spells.
01:45A few showers still gathering now across Shetland with a stronger wind here and an onshore breeze across much of the east coast of England where temperatures will hold around 16 to 18 degrees Celsius.
01:56Inland though we're still looking at 22 to 24 but the mid to high teens across western parts of Scotland the high teens for Northern Ireland.
02:05Through Wednesday evening and overnight some clearer skies it's going to be cooler than the coming night and that means temperatures dipping down to single figures particularly in the north across rural spots.
02:16Yet again through Thursday watch out for this breeze you can see it coming in from the north affecting the east coast of England in particular the far north and northeast of Scotland.
02:26Brighter skies will be towards the west where we'll see sunny spells and yet again the cloud will break at times even across more eastern areas.
02:34But across southern parts of Scotland the far north of England it could be a little stubborn to clear.
02:39Brighter weather then emerges through the day across the north of Scotland more on the way of clouds for Northern Ireland but we see one or two brighter breaks 21 degrees Celsius, 23 for London, 19 for the central belt of Scotland and we're likely to see 21 or 22 across Wales as well as the west country.
02:57So that's the picture on Thursday.
02:59You can see we still have a mix of cloud and sunshine.
03:02Some clearer skies into Friday morning but a slight change coming in from the west.
03:07This time the cloud will thicken and we could see a little sherry rain sliding down the western side of Scotland into Friday towards the northwest of England as well as the far north of Wales.
03:20Again in shelter across the northeast we'll see some brighter weather and some sunshine across the middle and central southern England but always cloud close by for Wales as well as Northern Ireland and in the breeze.
03:32One or two spits and spots of rain can't be ruled out.
03:35So all in all yes yet again we're chasing cloud a little bit.
03:39Favourite spots feeling pleasantly warm but through the day that cloud will migrate across more central parts of England and Wales hanging on to brighter skies further south.
03:48And towards the north where you catch any brighter breaks some sunshine you could just about see 20 degrees Celsius wherever you are.
03:55Have a good evening and I'll see you again soon.
