00:00So, the draft in general, before we get to some Bill stuff specifically,
00:04we've talked a lot about the edge position and linebacker, receiver.
00:08I heard, I forget who, someone the other day I heard on a podcast
00:13describe this draft as, as bad as you think this draft is, it's actually worse.
00:19Is this like a historically bad draft?
00:23No one I think is out there saying it's a strong draft,
00:26but I guess how poor is it overall?
00:30Well, I think there are a couple things to take into consideration.
00:33Where the draft this year is probably lacking is that there's a lack of blue-chip talent at the top,
00:41right?
00:41There's no, at every, essentially every position, right?
00:45There's no Aiden Hutchinson, there's no Miles Garrett, there's no Bosa brother,
00:50you know, prospects of that caliber.
00:53That's one of the factors that really hurts this NFL draft.
00:56The other incredibly unique factor is that all of the best players play non-premium positions.
01:05You know, if we were ranking these prospects without taking positional value into account,
01:12you'd probably be talking about a running back, you know,
01:15and Jeremiah Love being the best prospect in the draft.
01:17You're then talking about a safety, you know, Caleb Downs being the second best player in the draft.
01:22And then potentially two linebackers, you know, in Sonny Stiles and Arvel Reese.
01:28You know, if Reese doesn't make the transition of pass rusher,
01:30that's actually the four best players in the draft.
01:33And they play the three least paid positions, you know,
01:38just based on how NFL teams value those positions.
01:41So when you combine the lack of, you know, true blue chip talent with the devalued positions
01:48that the top prospects happen to play, then yeah, I would argue that you have a uniquely poor draft.
01:55Now, you know, don't get carried away.
01:57There are going to be a lot of good players in this draft.
01:59And I think it's a deep draft.
02:01You know, it's deep at two premium positions, you know, edge and wide receiver.
02:06I think you'll see some really good players.
02:08There are a lot of offensive tackles, you know,
02:10a premium position that are going to get drafted in the first round.
02:13And then I think, you know, once you get to the second, third, fourth round,
02:16it's a deep draft.
02:18The depth is not necessarily an issue.
02:20It's a lack of blue chip talent at premium positions at the top.
02:24That's, you know, sort of causing concern around the league.
