In a swift crackdown, the Anti-Narcotics Squad of Outer District Police has busted a gang involved in stealing milk and curd crates in the Uttam Nagar area, arresting two accused who were caught on camera.

The action followed a viral YouTube video dated March 26, 2026, which exposed the duo allegedly stealing dairy supplies from delivery points. Taking cognisance, a special team was constituted under the supervision of ACP (Operations) Virender Singh to trace the suspects.

After scanning over 300 CCTV footages and activating local intelligence, police identified the accused. Acting on a tip-off, a trap was laid near a church in Shiv Vihar, Vikas Nagar on April 3, where the two suspects — Mohit alias Patha (27) and Ayush Maan Pandey alias Pandit (19), both residents of Ranhola — were arrested.

Police recovered a stolen Bajaj Maximo three-wheeler and 14 empty milk crates from their possession. Verification revealed that the vehicle had been stolen from Prem Nagar in Rohini. During interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing milk and curd from Uttam Nagar and selling them in Dabri and Bindapur.

Further investigation led to the recovery of a stolen Honda Activa and a Honda motorcycle, linked to separate cases registered at Tilak Nagar and Ranhola police stations.

Police said the accused used to follow milk supply vehicles and target crates left unattended during deliveries. The stolen goods were transported using stolen vehicles and sold to local vendors.

Officials revealed that Mohit is a habitual offender with involvement in 38 cases of theft, snatching and motor vehicle theft, while Ayush is relatively new to criminal activities.

With their arrest, police have worked out five cases, including multiple vehicle thefts and dairy product thefts registered across different police stations. All stolen items have been seized, and further investigation is underway.
