A shocking theft incident has surfaced from Uttar Pradesh’s Basti, where a thief stole a full LPG cylinder from a house within seconds in broad daylight.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon under the Kotwali police station limits and was captured on CCTV. The footage, which surfaced on Thursday, shows the accuse entering the house and escaping with the cylinder in just about five seconds.

Swift and Targeted Theft:
According to the homeowner, Rahul Pal, the main gate of the house was open when a youth dressed like a delivery boy entered. Wearing a red-collared T-shirt and black pants, he went straight to the kitchen, picked up the filled cylinder kept near the doorway, hoisted it onto his shoulder, and fled.

CCTV footage indicates that the suspect had been loitering in the area for some time, conducting recce before executing the theft.

Only Cylinder Targeted:
Despite valuables and parked bikes being present, the thief did not touch anything else, suggesting he specifically targeted the LPG cylinder.

Shortage Angle:
The victim stated that he had purchased the cylinder just two days earlier after considerable effort, allegedly paying nearly three times the usual price due to an ongoing shortage.

Police Action:
Kotwali police have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage to identify the accused. Officials said efforts are underway to arrest the accuse and recover the stolen cylinder.
