Bengaluru police have cracked a high-value theft case, arresting a father-son duo for stealing computer components worth around ₹80 lakh from an electronics shop in the city.

The incident came to light after a shop owner in Nagawara found his store broken into on March 14. The store, which had been locked the previous night, had its shutter damaged and valuables missing.

Stolen items included 444 DDR4 RAM units, 279 SSDs, and ₹2.4 lakh in cash.

CCTV footage revealed that the accused carried out the theft while wearing burqas, making initial identification difficult. Police then analysed footage from surrounding areas to trace their movements.

Arrest and Motive:
The Govindapura police arrested one accused near a hotel in Nagawara and later apprehended his father based on interrogation. The accused were identified as Hemanth and his father Manjunath.

Police said Hemanth was a former employee of the shop and had allegedly planned the theft following a salary dispute with the owner.

Recovery of Stolen Goods:
All stolen items, including electronic components and cash, were recovered from a location in T Channayya Layout. The two-wheeler used in the crime was also seized.

Further investigation is underway.
