00:00It's time to go around the entire NFL and dip into some Gridiron Gravy.
00:08Dip it and lip it.
00:11So, Daniel Jeremiah, guest of the show, thanks to Alec.
00:15Nice work, bub.
00:16Has updated his top 50 NFL draft prospects.
00:20Now, if y'all have other ones you want to throw out, I'm glad to hear it.
00:23But I had a few I wanted to ask if you think they're underrated or overrated.
00:28I always find this to be interesting.
00:31Why split it into that?
00:33Because a lot of times their boards don't match their draft, their mock drafts.
00:40And I find that interesting when they're like, well, this is, my board is the players I feel.
00:45Yeah.
00:46Like, I feel they deserve this order.
00:48This is the stack, if you will.
00:50And then your mock draft is, I've heard some things.
00:54Some of these guys are probably going these places.
00:56And this makes sense for these players to go there because these are team needs.
01:00Right.
01:02So, these are the underrated ones that I noticed.
01:06And I was like, I think they're underrated.
01:08Caleb Downs.
01:09Caleb Downs at number nine.
01:12Caleb Downs is underrated at number nine.
01:16Not where they'll go in the draft, but like where they should rank.
01:20He could be two.
01:22I mean, are we legitimately thinking that Fernando Mendoza is a better player than Caleb Downs?
01:30I'm sure some, but I bet there's plenty who don't.
01:33It's positional value.
01:34But he plays quarterback.
01:34Positional value.
01:35Yeah.
01:35Exactly.
01:36So, that changes things.
01:37Caleb Downs might be that much better, though.
01:39And that's like, when we look at these players, that's where you feel.
01:43So, at nine, I think that is underrated.
01:46Jordan Tyson is 21.
01:49I argue, Mr. Medford, that is underrated.
01:53Jordan Tyson at 21.
01:56I'd say that's underrated, too.
01:58He was one of those that I spent an extended amount of time watching, even though I don't think this
02:04team is going to have a need to reach for him.
02:07But he's a really good player, man.
02:10Like, when I watch him on tape, there's a lot of things that stand out about him.
02:13He doesn't have necessarily one exact skill set that stands out to me.
02:18He kind of does everything you ask him to.
02:21And he's an Allen, Texas native, so I'm always rooting for our DFW guys.
02:25But, yeah, he's really, really good, man.
02:28The only thing that concerns me is injuries with him.
02:32But I just go back to that Texas Tech game.
02:34He injured both of his hamstrings in the game and still played the entire game.
02:40He is a dog.
02:42Focus drops and stuff like that, yeah, it can all be corrected.
02:46But he can play every receiver spot on the field, so that alone should bump him up a few spots.
02:51So I'm going to pair that with an overrated.
02:54Omar Cooper Jr., number 18.
02:58So that's Omar Cooper Jr. ahead of Jordan Tyson.
03:02Tyson, I say, overrated on that one.
03:10Yeah, a little bit.
03:12I'm not saying it's vastly.
03:14I might take him over Jordan Tyson.
03:17Ooh, okay.
03:18I might take him over Tyson.
03:20I like Omar Cooper Jr. a lot.
03:23Just the skill set that he has, the power and strength that he plays with.
03:27But there's a lot of things that I really do like about him.
03:32It's interesting because Brazel is 6'5", had a really good pro day.
03:37And nobody's like, he's the next Randy Moss.
03:39You know, like nobody's throwing this out.
03:41And there's not a lot of these dudes that I think are giant built guys in this.
03:46But he's a really good slot receiver that could be an outside threat.
03:50Because you can move that guy outside and then do some screens off of that.
03:54So I think it's a little overrated.
03:56Yeah, but he's a really good player.
03:59Underrated.
04:00Hakeem Mesidor at 23.
04:04I think it's underrated.
04:06And that's why I'd take him at 20.
04:09Especially with the position specifically.
04:12But I understand the surgeries and all those things.
04:17Everything on his medicals checked out, though.
04:19And go watch the film.
04:21Trust the tape.
04:22It tells you exactly what you need to know.
04:24A dude can play.
04:25And then perhaps the spiciest.
04:27I'm going to stick with this.
04:29And I know people think I'm dead wrong.
04:31Overrated.
04:32Arvell Reese at 5.
04:34I'm going to stick with this.
04:36I know he has all the prototypical size.
04:39Athleticism.
04:40To be an unbelievable pass rusher.
04:42He's just not good at pass rushing.
04:45He's got some things he needs to clean up for sure.
04:48But he's working with our guy, Coach Jordan, here in Dallas lately.
04:52And some of those videos that I've been seeing of him working on some stuff.
04:56He's got the bend.
04:57And that's the thing.
04:59In his pro day, people were like, this dude can't bend at all.
05:01When I watched the tape, I saw him bend in-game.
05:04That's all I care about.
05:05Well, if he's doing it in-game, then sure.
05:08The whole thing about traits versus actual production is a very fair argument.
05:13It's just, I watch him and I get a little more excited about what he could be than some of
05:18these past guys that you've seen.
05:20They're like, oh, but the traits.
05:21The traits are there.
05:22There's been some awful reaches in the past few years when it comes to edge rushers specifically.
05:28Just because he's got a monstrous frame.
05:30He's athletic.
05:31He runs fast.
05:32But yeah, he needs some more upper body strength if he wants to be a true edge rusher.
05:37If he wants to have those numbers that jump off the page, there's some people that really want him to
05:42be a stand-up linebacker still.
05:44Which I would be okay with.
05:46But I think he can do it all.
05:48I do.
05:48He has to show it.
05:50But I think he can.
05:51Big emphasis on the word think.
05:53I think you're in the majority, too.
05:55Lou Riddick hates you.
05:56I get it.
05:57You like him.
05:58I do.
05:59And he was like, anybody who...
06:00I'm paraphrasing.
06:01I have it right here.
06:02You're going to read it.
06:03This is Louis Riddick regarding...
06:05Yeah.
06:06If you were in Columbus today in person watching Arvel Reese work out and didn't come away thinking that this
06:13is a premium level athlete with unlimited upside,
06:16you should quit talking about athletes forever.
06:18Never.
06:19Don't even bother watching his tape actually playing the game in pads.
06:24You're never going to get it, ever.
06:26And I get why he would encourage people to not look at him playing the game in pads, where he
06:31does not have production.
06:33But I do like Louis Riddick.
06:34I don't think enough...
06:35But I did see that tweet, and I was like, ooh, that feels directed at me.
06:39I don't think I've done enough on Arvel Reese to be that hot on it either way yet.
06:44Okay.
06:44I need to do...
06:45Because my mind was, he's not going to be there for the Cowboys.
06:48And a lot of times I do that, where I'm just like, he's not going to be there.
06:51Don't even worry about watching.
06:52I need to.
06:53That is fair.
06:54I mean, I think you should.
06:56All right.
06:56For the Cowboys, we have now found out, per multiple reports, that the Ravens will be the Cowboys' opponent in
07:04Rio.
07:05Have we started our conversations with the bosses about sending us to Brazil?
07:10I don't think we have.
07:12That's on...
07:13You should.
07:14Oh, exactly.
07:14That's his job.
07:15Okay.
07:15Right.
07:16Yeah.
07:17You should politic for this.
07:18This is Brazil.
07:19How would you feel?
07:20Would you be proud if they said, you made a compelling argument, Alec, we'll send Corey and Kevin?
07:27Would you feel proud that you helped make that happen, or be like, what the crap, dude?
07:32Um, a little bit of both, because that's a big commitment, not just financially, but scheduling.
07:41So I'd be like, hey, that's pretty cool.
07:43And then I'd be like, status quo.
07:44Producers don't have fun.
07:46So.
07:46Oh, we're going to try to fix that.
07:48The Jags have a new home for 2027.
07:52They're going to play their games in Orlando.
07:55Oh, that was London.
07:55I know.
07:56Well, I say play their games in Orlando.
07:58I'm sure that year they'll be like, hey, we added a third game in England, so whatever.
08:03But they're going to play their games in Orlando as they are doing renovations to their stadium.
08:09Kevin, I know this is football nuggets, but this has been announced.
08:15Oh.
08:15You know who's throwing out the home opener tomorrow?
08:17I don't.
08:19G-Dub?
08:20Gold medal winning Team USA goalie, Jake Ottinger.
08:25Oh, yes!
08:28We need to see if we can get Otter on tomorrow.
08:31Yeah.
08:32That would be sick.
08:32I'd be like, hey, are you nervous?
08:34Also, what's up with your...
08:35Dude, why do you keep letting the goals in?
08:36What's up with your blocker side goals you've been giving up?
08:38He's like, I've been focusing on this first pitch.
08:40What if that's what he told you?
08:41He was like, I've been so nervous about this first pitch that I haven't even practiced hockey lately.
08:45I've just been practicing throwing a baseball.
08:47Would you want Jake Ottinger on tomorrow if they said we can't ask any hockey questions?
08:52I would have to learn a lot more about Jake Ottinger off ice.
08:58What if they said you also can't ask any questions about his personal life?
09:02You can only ask first pitch and first pitch adjacent questions.
09:06I could do it.
09:06I actually could do it.
09:08I definitely think I could definitely...
09:10I could do a five-minute interview about first pitch.
09:13Okay.
09:14All right.
09:14The Bears have said that they're looking for a late spring, early summer window to make their decision.
09:21So, obviously, we're approaching that rapidly.
09:24I still can't envision them maybe Arlington Heights, but moving to Indiana, no.
09:29And the divisive Monday night football doubleheader is no more.
09:37They said going forward, there's even discussions at the league meetings of having Monday night football games start at the
09:44same time.
09:45And they said no more, no more Monday night football doubleheaders.
09:50They should have just started the game at four.
09:52That would be neat.
09:53And then roll into the second game that way.
09:56But I think the only smart decision now, Tuesday night football.
10:02I mean, look, that's clearly Wednesday, Thursday, we're getting it this year.
10:08If there's not going to be double Monday night football, make it a Tuesday.
10:12Exactly.
10:13What's the problem?
10:14People would be...
10:15The betting community would be stoked about that.
10:17I would love it, dude.
10:19All right.
10:19I'll see what I can do.
10:20Give me a Tuesday night game.
10:21I dare you, NFL.
10:22You don't have the balls to do it.
10:24Wow.
10:25Send that to them.
