High-Speed Crash in Mainpuri: Car Rams Police Bike, Constable Thrown 20 Metres; 3 Injured

A major accident was reported in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district after a speeding car rammed into a police motorcycle, leaving three people injured, including a constable. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced.

The incident occurred on Monday in the Bhogaon police station area, following a clash between two groups over an old election rivalry and a dispute from the previous day. According to police, Naman Shakya and his associate Chhotu Chauhan were at a petrol pump when another group, including Pankaj, Chandraprakash, Ajay, and Bhanu, arrived, leading to a heated argument and physical altercation.

Upon receiving information, a Cobra police team reached the spot. Constable Jatin Kumar was riding the police bike, with Constable Vineet as pillion.

During the chaos, Naman Shakya allegedly attempted to flee the scene in his car. In panic, he sped off at high speed, lost control of the vehicle, and crashed directly into the police motorcycle.

Eyewitnesses said the impact was so severe that Constable Jatin Kumar was thrown nearly 20 metres along with the bike, while Constable Vineet narrowly escaped serious injury. The car then veered off and crashed into a roadside shop, Sadhna Box Industry, on GT Road.

Two civilians present at the shop, Sadhna Devi and her daughter Priya, also sustained injuries in the crash.

All the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have taken Naman Shakya and Chhotu Chauhan into custody. Two motorcycles linked to the accused involved in the earlier altercation have also been seized.

Police said a search is underway to trace other accused involved in the clash, and further investigation is in progress.
