00:00We talked about this a little bit with the Texans and their receiver,
00:05Nico Collins, but obviously there's still time.
00:09Things can happen, trades or whatever,
00:10and maybe they do get real aggressive, move up in the draft to go
00:14and get someone, but where they sit right now
00:17and how they've kind of maneuvered things, it looks like the Texans
00:26are going to kind of sit where they are and look at in-house answers
00:31when it comes to other playmakers outside of Nico Collins.
00:35That's just kind of where it is right now.
00:37Again, as we said, Wyatt Teller came kind of late in the process where he was there.
00:42There could be trades or anything happen, but it looks like they're walking in
00:46and they're like, we've got Nico, we've got Tank returning,
00:49we've got Higgins and Noel coming back for their second season.
00:53We've got Hutchinson, maybe Brevin Jordan is healthy enough.
00:56He comes back, Woody Marks coming back.
00:59So it looks like they're banking on in-house guys.
01:02And to you and the text line and listeners all over on YouTube and Twitch as well
01:07on the base power text line 713-572-416, do you feel good about that?
01:13Do you feel comfortable with that, that it looks like they have decided
01:16to bank on kind of the in-house guys?
01:21And who are you having the most confidence in?
01:24No, I don't feel comfortable with it.
01:26As I've said before, I think you can win regular season games with it.
01:30I don't think you can get to an AFC championship or a Super Bowl with this offense
01:35as it is constructed right now.
01:38And my answer to your question of specifically who do I have the most confidence in will specifically
01:47outline why I don't like it in the sense of it's going to be the part that gets them
01:52over the hump and gets them to the AFC championship.
01:54The guy that has the fewest snap count, the fewest snap total here in this list that you
02:01put out here is the one I believe has the best chance to be a playmaker, like a game changer
02:09on this offense.
02:10And that's Jalen Noel.
02:13I think you've got...
02:15Now, look, Tank, obviously, again, his lower half has been destroyed since he's been in the league.
02:20Shot, broke leg, dislocated knee.
02:22I mean, the thought of him coming back as who he once was is a wild thought.
02:28I'm not banking on that.
02:31But I think Higgins is a good compliment.
02:34I think Hutchinson is a depth receiver.
02:36I think Brevin Jordan is a low snap count guy.
02:40I think Stover's a low ceiling guy.
02:42And I think Woody, I don't think he's ever going to be used in a way that you're going
02:46to get the most out of him.
02:47So I think the best bet here for the Houston Texans is that Jalen Noel becomes your slot
02:52receiver.
02:53And I think he's got legit, like, I think he can beat nickel defenders in this league.
02:58I think he's a mismatch versus safeties in this league.
03:02I think he's a hard to tackle and space guy in this league.
03:06And he's the only...
03:08I'll be honest with you.
03:09He's the only one that I've got hope.
03:11Really?
03:11Yep.
03:12I mean, I think Higgins is a good player.
03:14I don't think he's a game changer.
03:18I don't think he's consistently beating one-on-one coverage, you know, to the tune of changing
03:27a game.
03:29So, yeah, no.
03:30So Jalen Noel is the way.
03:31And so you're not comfortable with the banking of the in-house.
03:35I'm not comfortable at all.
03:37And the reason I'm not comfortable at all is because I think you're kicked the door
03:41down of an AFC Championship Super Bowl, which is where we're at with this team.
03:44And I'm not comfortable at all because, you know, you're asking guys that I think are
03:48good role players to be the difference in how you take that next step.
03:53Really, as a team, if we're being honest, the room for improvement for this Texans team
03:57is for the offense to carry a little bit more of the water here, to carry a little bit
04:02more of the pressure here.
04:03And I think you're relying on a guy in Jalen Noel who, I mean, we've seen in a handful
04:08of snaps, you know, as a Texan.
04:11And so that's a good question, man.
04:14But, yeah, Noel would be the one that I think is going to be the biggest playmaker.
04:17See, for me is, I'm with you.
04:20Higgins, we'll see.
04:21There's some things he can add to the team, but I don't know that I'm prepared to, you
04:30know, to say, like, this is a guy that's going to be, like, an answer as a playmaker
04:34for them consistently.
04:36And then, obviously, Tank's injury is the one that's a big key.
04:41If Tank Dale is Tank Dale, then this is all for naught.
04:46And this dude has shown that he's a difference maker in this league, in this offense, with
04:52this quarterback.
04:53But, for me, just depending on how they use it, and we know what type of offense that
04:58they're in, and we've seen this part be really productive in this offense, out of all of them,
05:05Clint, Woody Marks is the one, to me, where I'm thinking, all right, they like to use the
05:10running back.
05:11At least this offense has.
05:13We saw for years with Brady, with, like, James White, Falk, and the receiving running
05:20backs that they used, and those guys were, Danny Amendola, those guys were real weapons
05:26for them to create mismatches.
05:28And depending on how they use Woody Marks, like, Woody Marks, at times, may be one of your
05:34best mismatches, if he's in the right, if he's in the right, or covered by the right person.
05:41And, again, I don't know how much they're going to use downfield stuff with guys like
05:46Higgins and Noel, but we have seen this offense really lean on the running back in the passing
05:53game to create plays and to be another weapon.
05:56And I think Woody Marks has a chance with his hands, the ability, and he's an explosive
06:03player.
06:03I think you could argue he's their second most explosive player right now that they have
06:08at a skill position.
06:09So, Woody Marks is one that's intriguing to me, just knowing how this offense uses running
06:14back and what potentially he could do.
06:16But it's all on how he's used.
06:17Well, I think if you trust the system, which I don't, but if you do trust the system, I
06:22think Woody Marks is a weapon.
06:24I think Brevin Jordan could be a real weapon.
06:26And I think Jalen Noel could be an everyday receiver that's targeted.
06:29And I just feel like the one that happens with just the natural flow of an offense in a game
06:36is Jalen Noel.
06:37The one that happens with the opportunity Christian Kirk is gone is Jalen Noel.
06:42The one that is going to get more opportunity because guys like Tankdale can't stay healthy,
06:46again, is Jalen Noel.
06:48So, I think, I don't, I'm not banking on the staff to make any special arrangements for
06:52any player because he's got a certain skill set.
06:55I'm banking on Jalen Noel becoming a bigger part of the offense because he's a wide receiver
07:00and there's a vacancy there.
07:01Well, it's interesting.
07:01Those two positions, the slot and the running back, we've seen historically in this offense,
07:08what we look at as the Patriots, in this offense become big parts of it.
07:13So,
07:13so,
