00:00The extreme heat continues across the southwest, but this week, the heat's going to be a little more widespread,
00:08and it's going to peak a little farther east than what we had last week.
00:13In fact, by Wednesday, take a look at this.
00:15Temperature is 15 to 30 degrees above historical averages,
00:19and the core of the heat is going to be across the southern Rockies and the Intermountain West.
00:25Cities like Salt Lake City, for example, that already broke their all-time record high for March on Saturday,
00:33and Denver, which again also broke their all-time record high for March on Saturday,
00:41they may both be shattered again when?
00:44On Wednesday, as the heat really peaks across the southern Rockies.
00:50Now, here's the good news, and there is some.
00:52As we get into Thursday, that heat does start to spread out into the Plains states.
00:58That's good news because there will be some cooling for cities like Denver and Salt Lake City,
01:04but across the southwest states, the heat's not going anywhere until perhaps this weekend.
