00:00As we move toward the holiday weekend, the heat gets less intense and less widespread
00:06as showers and thunderstorms expand, and that's going to cause problems for your outdoor plants.
00:12The whole reason for the heat has been that upper high. Now, that is going to be shifting south,
00:16and it's also going to be weakening through the weekend. And by Sunday, that upper high in the
00:22core of the heat will be off the southeast coast of the United States. That's also going to allow
00:27the jet stream to come south, bringing cooler air aloft and little ripples in the energy.
00:33While the heat gets less intense, the humidity remains. And what does that mean? That means the
00:38recipe for numerous showers and thunderstorms this weekend from the lakes all the way in toward the
00:45northeast. Notice the yellow showing up as we go through time, and those thunderstorms, no doubt,
00:51will have heavy rain and some strong, gusty winds. They will be severe. And by the time we get
00:57in the Saturday and Sunday, the heat continues to shrink.
