Trust God not people after rejection and betrayal, because the pain of being dismissed by others can follow you into places they are no longer even present. It gets into your thoughts. It gets into your prayers. It gets into the way you see yourself. This Christian motivational message is for the person who has been hurt by people, shaken by betrayal, and left asking whether their worth has been buried under somebody else’s opinion.

There are moments when human judgment feels heavier than truth. There are seasons when exclusion feels like proof. There are days when silence from others feels louder than the promises of God. That is why this message matters. God is still speaking beyond rejection. God is still writing beyond betrayal. God is still calling people the world has already misread.

Douglas Vandergraph delivers a faith-based message of strength, identity, perseverance, healing, and spiritual courage for those walking through pain. If you have felt overlooked, unwanted, misjudged, or spiritually drained, this talk will remind you that people do not get to write the last sentence of your life. God does. Your calling is not canceled by their confusion. Your future is not decided by their reaction. Your worth is not reduced because they failed to recognize what Heaven put in you.

Watch, share, and let this message reach someone who needs hope right now.

00:01You know, I don't watch much TV, but last night I saw a show that I've probably been watching for
00:06the last 20 years off and on.
00:09And at the end of the show, the gentleman who's the producer of the show said,
00:16The tribe has spoken.
00:18And that inspired me.
00:21Because a lot of people hear a phrase like that and think about being judged.
00:26They think about being voted off.
00:28They think about being left out.
00:32They think about a crowd deciding whether they belong.
00:37They think about what happens when the voices around them rise up, form an opinion, and hand down a verdict
00:45that feels final.
00:48For some people, that is not a television phrase.
00:52It's their life.
00:54You ever felt like that?
00:56You know, people know what it feels like to live under the sound of other people's conclusions.
01:03We know what it feels like to be misunderstood by a room, dismissed by a group, rejected by our own
01:12family, and pushed aside by the church.
01:16Or, quietly counted out by people who never really saw us.
01:24The tribe has spoken can sound like the end of your place, the end of your worth, and the end
01:32of your future.
01:33But one of the deepest truths of faith is that the tribe does not get the final word.
01:43You know, some of you have spent too much of your life letting human voices carry more weight than they
01:55were ever meant to carry.
01:56Somebody told you that you were too broken.
02:00Somebody told you that you were too late.
02:04Somebody told you that your mistakes were too serious.
02:08Your past, too messy.
02:11Your emotions are too much.
02:14Your personality, too strange.
02:18Boy, I've heard that one.
02:20But you know what?
02:21I'm going to keep being me.
02:23I've been told my calling is unrealistic.
02:27And that my faith is too weak to matter.
02:30You ever heard that?
02:32You know, maybe nobody said it out loud to you.
02:35But have you ever felt it in the room?
02:37You ever felt it in the silence?
02:40Have you ever felt it in the way that people look past you?
02:45Have you ever felt it in the way support disappears when you need it most?
02:53You've felt the verdict settling over your life.
02:56I have, too.
02:57And we've felt the group deciding what our story means.
03:02We've felt the tribe speak.
03:05And for a while, I've even believed them.
03:11But I want to remind you that all through Scripture, God keeps doing something that shocks the tribes of the
03:18earth.
03:19He keeps choosing people that groups never would have chosen.
03:25He keeps lifting people that systems would have buried.
03:30He keeps calling people whose reputations were already ruined in the eyes of others.
03:35And when people looked at David, they saw a boy.
03:41God saw a king.
03:44When people looked at Moses, they saw a man with a severe stutter, with too much fear and not enough
03:53confidence.
03:55God saw a deliverer.
03:58And when people looked at Rahab, they saw her past.
04:04God saw her faith.
04:06When people looked at Peter after failure, they saw instability and denial.
04:13But Jesus, Jesus saw a man who would still help build the church.
04:19The tribe has often spoken.
04:22But heaven, heaven has a long history of overruling the crowd.
04:30And that matters.
04:32Because some of the hardest pain in life comes from false finality.
04:38It is not just that people hurt us.
04:41It's that we start believing in their view and that their view is permanent.
04:46We start acting like rejection is revelation.
04:49We start acting like exclusion is prophecy.
04:54We start acting like being overlooked by people means we've been abandoned by God.
05:02And that is where many hearts get tired.
05:06That is where many callings get buried.
05:09And that is where too many dreams go quiet.
05:13A person can survive hardship, but it is much harder to survive the lie that hardship, hardship has defined them
05:23forever.
05:24The enemy loves to turn a human moment into a spiritual identity.
05:30He loves to take one bad season and whisper,
05:35This is who you are now.
05:37No, I'm not.
05:38He loves to take one room that did not understand you and tell you that no one ever will.
05:46Yes, they will.
05:48He loves to take one disappointment and make it sound eternal.
05:52And it's not.
05:54But God, thankfully God does not build your identity out of the opinions of unstable people.
06:04Jesus himself lived this truth in front of the world.
06:09Think about it.
06:10The crowd praised him one moment and turned on him the next.
06:14One day they wanted miracles.
06:16The next they wanted distance.
06:19One group was amazed.
06:21Another group was offended.
06:23Some called him teacher.
06:25Others called him dangerous.
06:27Some followed him.
06:29Some left.
06:32Some wept at his feet.
06:35Some shouted for his death.
06:37And if Jesus had built his identity around the voice of the crowd,
06:42he would have been crushed by the constant change in public opinion.
06:48But he lived from a deeper place.
06:53He knew who his father was.
06:55And he knew who he was in the father.
06:58That is why he could keep walking when people misunderstood him.
07:03And that is why he could keep loving when people mocked him.
07:09It's why he could keep obeying when the tribe around him could not see what heaven was doing.
07:17And you know what?
07:18There is freedom in learning that not every voice deserves a seat at your table.
07:27You do not have to carry every opinion like it came down from Sinai.
07:33You do not have to kneel before every human reaction.
07:37And you do not have to let every rejection rewrite your value.
07:44Some people speak out of their wounds.
07:47Not from wisdom.
07:49Some people judge what they do not understand.
07:54And some people will reduce your life to one chapter
07:58because they were too shallow to read the whole book.
08:02Some people will speak over you when they're blind themselves.
08:08You have to stop treating every loud voice like it's a true voice.
08:15The loudest thing around you is not always the most accurate thing about you.
08:22And faith, faith gives you the strength to hear the tribe without surrendering to it.
08:28Now that does not mean that rejection will stop hurting.
08:33It hurts. I know.
08:35It hurts when people leave.
08:38It hurts when support fades.
08:41And you know what?
08:43It hurts when people misread your motives.
08:46Because when those who are closest to you
08:49become the ones who wound you the most deeply,
08:55it hurts.
08:57And faith is not pretending pain does not matter.
09:01Faith is choosing not to let pain become your master.
09:05Faith is being honest about the sting
09:08while still refusing the lie.
09:12Faith is saying,
09:14Yes, I heard what you said,
09:16but I will not build my identity there.
09:19Yes, I felt the loss,
09:22but I will not call that the end.
09:26Yes, the tribe has spoken,
09:29but God is still speaking as well.
09:33And sometimes God will even let the tribe reject you
09:37because he refuses to let you stay
09:40where you are tolerated,
09:43but not truly called.
09:45Sometimes rejection is protection.
09:48And there are places that feel important
09:51only because they are familiar.
09:54There are groups that feel necessary in your life
09:57only because you have not yet seen
10:00what God has prepared beyond them.
10:04There are doors you beg to keep open
10:06that would only have slowly suffocated
10:09the person you are becoming.
10:11There are rooms where people only know
10:15the old version of you.
10:17And every time you try to grow,
10:19they keep pulling you back
10:21into what is comfortable for them.
10:24Rejection is painful,
10:26but sometimes it is also protective.
10:31Sometimes what feels like being cast out
10:33is actually God moving you out.
10:37Sometimes the tribe speaks
10:39because heaven is making space.
10:45You know, think about this.
10:47Here's a great example.
10:48Joseph knew this in a brutal way.
10:51His own brothers spoke against him
10:53before the nations ever heard his name.
10:56They did not just dislike him.
10:59They tried to reduce his future to nothing.
11:04They threw him away
11:05because they could not handle
11:07what God had placed inside him.
11:10Now, if Joseph had believed
11:13the verdict of his tribe,
11:14he would have died in the pit
11:17emotionally long before he ever reached
11:20the palace physically.
11:23But what God put in his life
11:25was stronger than the opinion
11:27of those around him.
11:29What God has spoken over you
11:31is also stronger than the opinions
11:35that came against you.
11:37It may take time
11:39and it may pass through tears.
11:42It may move through loneliness,
11:45silence, or seasons
11:47that make no sense at all.
11:50But I want you to believe this.
11:52What God plants does not die
11:55because people do not clap for it.
11:59There are some of you listening right now
12:03who need to let a false verdict expire.
12:07You're still carrying words
12:09spoken over you years ago.
12:11You're still trying to prove yourself
12:13to people who already made peace
12:16with misunderstanding you.
12:18You are still trying to earn belonging
12:21from voices that were never qualified
12:23to define you.
12:26That is exhausting.
12:30And it's exhausting to drag a dead opinion
12:33into every new day.
12:36It is exhausting to keep replaying a sentence
12:39that God never agreed with.
12:41It is exhausting to live
12:43as if the tribe's vote
12:45is holier than God's calling.
12:49And at some point,
12:50for your own peace,
12:52you have to say this.
12:55You have to do this for yourself.
12:57They may have spoken,
12:59but they are not your shepherd.
13:03And the beautiful thing about God
13:05is that he does not wait
13:07for public approval
13:08before he begins good work
13:10in a person.
13:11He will start in secret.
13:14He will heal in silence.
13:16He will build strength
13:18where nobody is cheering.
13:21He will deepen your roots
13:23in hidden places.
13:25He will teach you how to stand
13:26without applause,
13:28show you how to keep going
13:30when nobody understands
13:31the seasons that you're in.
13:33In fact,
13:34some of the deepest growth
13:36will happen in places
13:38where the tribe is absent.
13:40It will happen
13:41when there is no panel,
13:43no vote,
13:44no public reward,
13:46no clear recognition.
13:49You see,
13:51this is where God often
13:52does his purest work
13:54because then your life
13:56starts becoming anchored in him
13:58instead of anchored in reaction.
14:02So,
14:03when the tribe is spoken,
14:06don't panic.
14:08Just pause.
14:10Breathe.
14:12Bring it to God.
14:14Let him separate
14:15what is useful
14:16from what's just noise.
14:19Sometimes there may be
14:20a lesson in what was said,
14:22and sometimes
14:24correction can help you grow.
14:26But even then,
14:29correction is not condemnation.
14:31Even when God
14:33refines you,
14:34he never erases you.
14:37He does not shame you
14:38into becoming better.
14:40He loves you
14:41into truth.
14:43He forms you
14:44with mercy.
14:45He deals with you
14:47like a father,
14:48not like the mob.
14:51The kingdom of God
14:53is not a place
14:54where your worth
14:55is decided
14:56by a frightened crowd.
14:59It's a place
15:00where grace
15:01tells the truth
15:02and still does not
15:04let go of you.
15:05So, friends,
15:07let the tribe
15:08speak if they must.
15:10Let people misunderstand
15:11for a season
15:12if they choose.
15:14Let shallow voices
15:16expose themselves
15:17by how quickly
15:18they judge
15:19what they
15:20never took time
15:22to get to know.
15:24Let the noise
15:25rise and fall.
15:27But do not confuse
15:30human agreement
15:31with divine appointment.
15:34Do not confuse
15:35public approval
15:36with spiritual authority.
15:39And do not confuse
15:42being chosen
15:43by people
15:44with being called
15:46by God.
15:47One can disappear
15:49overnight.
15:50the other
15:51can carry you
15:54through fire.
15:55And maybe
15:56today is
15:57what you
15:59this is what
15:59you needed to hear
16:00that not
16:01everybody will
16:02understand you.
16:04That
16:04not everybody
16:06will stay.
16:08And you know what?
16:09Not everybody
16:09will bless
16:10what God
16:11is doing
16:11in your life.
16:14But you know
16:15what?
16:16It's important.
16:18Some people
16:20will only
16:20have language
16:21for the
16:23old version
16:24of you.
16:25Some people
16:26will speak
16:26from fear
16:27when they
16:28see you
16:28changing.
16:29Some people
16:31will choose
16:31comfort over
16:32truth
16:33and opinion
16:34over love.
16:36Let
16:38them
16:39talk.
16:41Their words
16:41are not
16:42bigger than
16:42our God.
16:43Their limits
16:45are not
16:45your limits.
16:47And their
16:48vote
16:48is not
16:49your destiny.
16:51The tribe
16:52has spoken
16:53but the
16:54tomb
16:55is still
16:56empty.
16:57The tribe
16:58has spoken
16:59but grace
17:00still calls
17:01names that
17:02shame
17:03tried to
17:04bury.
17:04The tribe
17:06has spoken
17:06but God
17:07is still
17:08raising
17:08people
17:09the world
17:10had finished
17:11with.
17:13The tribe
17:14may have
17:14spoken
17:15but heaven
17:15has not
17:16gone silent.
17:17And if God
17:19is still
17:19speaking over
17:20your life
17:21then your
17:22story is
17:22not over.
17:23Your purpose
17:25not canceled.
17:26Your worth
17:27is not
17:29even up
17:29for public
17:30vote.
17:31And your
17:32future does
17:32not belong.
17:34to the crowd.
17:35So stand
17:37up again.
17:38Pray again.
17:40Believe again.
17:42Take the
17:43next step
17:44again.
17:45Not because
17:46everybody
17:47understands you
17:48but because
17:49God does.
17:51Not because
17:52the room
17:52approved
17:53but because
17:54heaven called.
17:56Not because
17:57the tribe
17:58made space
17:59but because
18:00God
18:01made a way.
18:03And when
18:04all the
18:04lesser voices
18:05have spent
18:06themselves
18:07and faded
18:08into the
18:09dust
18:09the only
18:11word that
18:11will still
18:12matter
18:12is the
18:13one that
18:14came from
18:14God.
18:15The God
18:16who made
18:17you
18:17kept you
18:18carried you
18:20and refused
18:21to let
18:22human opinion
18:23write the
18:24final line.
18:26Let the
18:28tribe speak
18:29then listen
18:31for God.
18:34My name is
18:35Douglas
18:36Vandergraaf
18:37and I believe
18:37in Jesus
18:38Christ.
18:40God
18:41bless
18:41every
18:42single one
18:44of you.
18:45Everyone.
18:48Bye-bye.
18:50Bye-bye.
