00:00:08Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:00:50Four matches for you on tonight's Match of the Day, including the North London Derby and key games affecting the
00:00:56bottom of the table.
00:00:57The BAFTAs might have ignored their talents, but Danny Murphy and Shea Gibran are still my leading men tonight.
00:01:03After conceding an injury-time equaliser against Wolves on Wednesday night, Premier League leaders Arsenal started the day two points
00:01:10clear at the top,
00:01:11while new head coach Igor Tudor took charge of Tottenham for the first time.
00:01:15Your commentator is Steve Wilson.
00:01:19Mikel Arteta says that Arsenal are exactly where they want to be.
00:01:23Well, after last night's invitation to cocktails, it rather sounds like Pep Guardiola feels exactly the same way about Manchester
00:01:31City.
00:01:32Spurs are nowhere near where they want to be, but staying put, that is staying in the Premier League, might
00:01:39have to be enough come May.
00:01:41Igor Tudor begins by making two changes to Thomas Frank's last selection.
00:01:45What hasn't changed is a lengthy injury list, and Odeber has been added to it.
00:01:50Solanke goes to the bench, in comes João Palinha and Kolo Mouane.
00:01:55It looks like Palinha will play in a back three.
00:01:58Arteta makes two changes to the XI, which started Wednesday's costly draw with Wolves.
00:02:04Madweke and Martinelli replaced by Trossard and Eze, who scored that memorable hat-trick on his North London debut.
00:02:10He's only started four league games since.
00:02:15It's a fantastic atmosphere for the 199th North London derby in major competition, and it is laden with even more
00:02:27significance than usual.
00:02:32Saka.
00:02:33Timber in a good position.
00:02:35Plenty of red shirts in the middle, the downward head, the block by Dragushin.
00:02:40It's Jokeresh, who made contact with it.
00:02:48Jokeresh straight onto the thigh of Radu Dragushin.
00:02:58David Wright, that's a great ball.
00:03:00Vicario came for it.
00:03:02Here's Trossard, he's had a little look to try and get his sight of goal sorted out.
00:03:07Goodness me, Van der Venn left it.
00:03:08I guess Dragushin gave him a shout.
00:03:16Jokeresh, Van der Venn, Spence, can't get this away Tottenham.
00:03:23Timber, good ball that.
00:03:26Dragushin there.
00:03:28Spence jumping into Trossard.
00:03:32No, Peter Banks sees it the other way.
00:03:35Well, David Wright's ball away to Bukayo Saka.
00:03:38Nearly ripped Tottenham open here.
00:03:42Could have worked out worse for Vicario and Tottenham.
00:03:48There he is, the new man, Igor Tudor.
00:03:51The Croatian in charge of all things Tottenham until the end of the season.
00:03:59Nicely played into Victor Jokeresh.
00:04:02Dragushin didn't do enough.
00:04:04And Jokeresh is very close.
00:04:06Really good play here by the Arsenal centre forward.
00:04:10Had the beating of Radu Dragushin here.
00:04:13It's a good effort, that.
00:04:18Timber.
00:04:25Saka's little ball in.
00:04:27And it's going to be a corner kick to Arsenal.
00:04:29Off the head of Bissouma.
00:04:33So Bukayo Saka to take Arsenal's corner.
00:04:38Gabriele on the penalty spot.
00:04:40Saliba in front of Vicario.
00:04:42In comes the corner kick.
00:04:44Jokeresh heads it down.
00:04:46And wide off the head of Saliba.
00:04:49Really good header by Jokeresh.
00:04:52Didn't get a lot of power on it, Saliba.
00:04:54And didn't quite get the direction it needed either.
00:05:02Jokeresh.
00:05:03Timber's throw.
00:05:04Zubimendi.
00:05:07And Eze.
00:05:09It's Sarr.
00:05:11It's Timber.
00:05:17Saka has got through Sarr.
00:05:19Bukayo Saka for Arsenal.
00:05:21Eze 1-0.
00:05:23And Eberici Eze is at it again against Tottenham.
00:05:28The club, of course, he seemed to be on the point of joining.
00:05:34Feel the force of Eberici Eze for the fourth time this season.
00:05:39Saka inevitably involved.
00:05:43Sarr didn't deal with it.
00:05:46Eze's first touch.
00:05:48Saw the ball just sit up for him beautifully, actually.
00:05:52And his second touch put the ball in the net.
00:05:56Spurs nil, Arsenal 1.
00:06:00And that will sicken Tottenham Hotspur supporters.
00:06:10Spence and Simons won't get onto that because Rice does.
00:06:14And he's lost it to Colin Mawani here.
00:06:17Landon Colin Mawani scores!
00:06:20It's his first Premier League goal for Tottenham Hotspur.
00:06:25And Arsenal led for barely a minute.
00:06:28Declan Rice with the error.
00:06:30Randall Colin Mawani with the goal.
00:06:33Well, this is most unlike him.
00:06:36Had it nicked away from him by Colin Mawani.
00:06:39It's been a very long time coming that Colin Mawani finally has a Premier League goal.
00:06:45And it's some stage on which to score it.
00:06:49And some time at which to score it.
00:06:52Well, this was Declan Rice after Arsenal took the lead.
00:06:58Focus, think, keep your concentration.
00:07:00But it's Declan Rice who's dispossessed.
00:07:03Spurs equalise.
00:07:06And the apology is swift.
00:07:15Dragosheen in front of Jokuresh.
00:07:18And Capier.
00:07:19That's a nice looking ball.
00:07:21Saka might get on this.
00:07:22And Saka has.
00:07:23Vicario with a crucial save.
00:07:29Vicario with a vital save.
00:07:35Psychologically, this is a game Arsenal really will feel they need to win.
00:07:40They have dropped seven points in their last five games from winning positions.
00:07:46Eza has found Saka.
00:07:50Saka with the half-blocked in versus S.
00:07:52Benz needs to be really careful here.
00:07:55Trossard!
00:07:56Oh, that is so close.
00:08:01Could Jokuresh have slid in at the far post?
00:08:07Arsenal have won eight of the last ten North London derbies.
00:08:10And he will know, as well as anybody, that they need to win this one as well.
00:08:22Simons for the touch.
00:08:23Colin Moan, he's back heel.
00:08:26Champions, Simons has found a little bit of space here.
00:08:29And got the shot away.
00:08:30And that's a really good save.
00:08:32Well, fewer than 30 seconds into the second half of the game he's called on.
00:08:39Nice little back heel into Xavi Simons, who has a lot to do here.
00:08:43Found a little bit of room.
00:08:45That's on target.
00:08:46And well saved.
00:08:57Timber, it's come to Jokuresh!
00:08:59Great goal!
00:09:02He had so much space.
00:09:05Victor Jokuresh controlled it and drove it beyond Vicario.
00:09:12And Arsenal are in front again.
00:09:16Now, having got themselves in front, can Arsenal stay in front?
00:09:22Something they've struggled with of late.
00:09:35Conor Gallagher
00:09:38Keeps it in play
00:09:40There's a bit of flick on the cross
00:09:42Kolemwani, he's done it again
00:09:46It's not going to count, it's a free kick
00:09:49It's a push
00:09:51Well they'll check it
00:09:55Well I think his hands are up
00:09:57Into the back of Gabriel
00:10:00It's a little touch
00:10:02Gabriel is taking a chance
00:10:04By going to ground
00:10:05Clearly unnecessarily
00:10:07But it is a push
00:10:09And it is still Tottenham 1, Arsenal 2
00:10:17Well there is the
00:10:19Clear promise of more goals in this game
00:10:23Here's Saka though
00:10:24As it was won by Moschera
00:10:26But Kyo Saka
00:10:27Vicario's hands got up very quickly
00:10:29It rebounded back into his hands
00:10:32Off Dragosin
00:10:33Arsenal are creating opportunities
00:10:36To get a third goal
00:10:39They may regret not taking one of them
00:10:48Oh picked off by Eze
00:10:50And Eze can play Saka in
00:10:52Saka
00:10:53And a chance for Eze
00:10:55And he takes it
00:10:57It's that man again
00:10:59Five goals against Tottenham Hotspur
00:11:02This season
00:11:03Five goals and counting
00:11:06That header from Dragosin was picked off by Eze
00:11:09Beautifully round the corner from Jokka
00:11:11Saka denied
00:11:13Eze not to be denied
00:11:15And Arsenal now have this game in their grasp
00:11:20It's a great challenge actually
00:11:23On Saka
00:11:24But it fell
00:11:26Beautifully for Eze
00:11:283-1 Arsenal
00:11:33Well not for the first time this season
00:11:35It looks like Tottenham are heading to home defeat
00:11:38It would be their eighth home league defeat of the season
00:11:43Goal floated in by Spence
00:11:45Rice losing out to Dominic Solanke
00:11:52Spence did really well
00:11:54Richarlison's flick
00:11:55And I think David Raya has kept it out
00:11:58And with seven minutes to go
00:12:01This is potentially a huge save from David Raya
00:12:06Spence did really well
00:12:08Richarlison's flick
00:12:10And Raya recovers
00:12:14And Arsenal still have a two-goal cushion
00:12:17It was within centimetres of being very different
00:12:22How important could this be?
00:12:25Michael Arteta
00:12:26Who is being put through the ringer there
00:12:30Great reactions
00:12:37Great to Spence
00:12:41Martinelli
00:12:42Madweke
00:12:43Odegaard
00:12:44Jokeres wants it
00:12:45And he's got it
00:12:46And Jokeres makes it four
00:12:50And all that remains now
00:12:53Is for Arsenal's songs of celebration
00:12:56To reverberate around a rapidly emptying Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
00:13:02Just moved it swiftly
00:13:04And Jokeres who's been terrific
00:13:08Knocks it beyond Vicario
00:13:14Arsenal are restoring their lead at the top of the table
00:13:20The referee blows his whistle
00:13:22And Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have responded
00:13:26In kind
00:13:28They have blown away Tottenham Hotspur for the second time this season
00:13:33Make no mistake about it
00:13:35Igor Tudor and Tottenham are in trouble
00:13:38Their figures are absolutely desperate
00:13:40Arsenal have a cushion at the top of the table again
00:13:44Spurs 1, Arsenal 4
00:13:50That's the beauty of football
00:13:52When you look back at the game against Wolves
00:13:54How the hell you draw a game there
00:13:56It's just impossible to explain
00:13:58There are no words to explain how this happened
00:14:00But it happened
00:14:01And you have to leave yourself out from the floor
00:14:03Because you can feel sorry for yourself
00:14:05But the reaction of the boys immediately was extraordinary
00:14:08And I'm not surprised what they've done today
00:14:10Because I'm with them every day
00:14:11And I know how much they want it
00:14:13If I may say so
00:14:14I think that's your best performance in an Arsenal shirt
00:14:16Would you feel the same way?
00:14:18Yeah, I think it was good
00:14:20And then, yeah
00:14:21I think I could have done a few things better
00:14:23But yeah, it was enjoyable for me
00:14:26Difficult game, bad result
00:14:29Better team that beat us
00:14:30So congratulations to them
00:14:32Good lesson for us
00:14:35But we need to look forward
00:14:38And start to work from Tuesday
00:14:41Harder than before
00:14:42You said the other day
00:14:43You are 100% convinced
00:14:45That Tottenham will be a Premier League team
00:14:46Next season
00:14:48You're still certain?
00:14:49Of course, of course
00:14:50Of course I am
00:14:51If it goes all the way to the end of the season
00:14:54And it might
00:14:55You look like a side who are up for that challenge
00:14:57We know
00:14:58This is the Premier League
00:14:59It's going to go all the way till the end
00:15:01That's for sure
00:15:0110 games in the Premier League
00:15:03It's a long, long marathon
00:15:05You can see
00:15:05Where teams are winning
00:15:07Where teams are not dropping points
00:15:08Just in the last second
00:15:09For millimetres
00:15:10Without the margins
00:15:12Well, it was a big response
00:15:14From Arsenal today
00:15:15It had to be
00:15:15And you've had a look, Danny
00:15:17At why they got so much joy
00:15:19Down that right-hand side
00:15:20Was it down to them
00:15:21Or the way Spurs set up?
00:15:23Well, it's fair to say
00:15:24Spurs were pretty poor at times
00:15:25But Arsenal were outstanding
00:15:26And this partnership
00:15:27On the right-hand side
00:15:28That they haven't had in recent weeks
00:15:30Of Saka
00:15:30In his most comfortable position
00:15:32And Timber behind
00:15:33When at its best
00:15:34Is one of the best in Europe
00:15:35And Tottenham
00:15:36Could not cope with them today
00:15:38Especially in the first half
00:15:39Time and time again
00:15:40Now, I know this team's
00:15:41Working on some new things
00:15:42With the manager
00:15:43But some of it's basic
00:15:45There's Timber
00:15:45Simons playing as a 10
00:15:48Finds himself in a left-back position
00:15:49Trying to double up
00:15:50Doesn't really want to be there
00:15:512v1
00:15:52Jed Spence
00:15:53The wing-back
00:15:53Little early warning
00:15:55For Tottenham
00:15:57And we know how good Timber is
00:15:58He makes all sorts of runs
00:15:59He's a good player
00:16:00Spence again
00:16:01Caught in between
00:16:01Saka's behind him this time
00:16:03Sarr has left the central midfield area
00:16:05To come over and try and help
00:16:06Rather
00:16:07They don't know who's doing what
00:16:08You don't want to be
00:16:09Left one-on-one with Saka
00:16:11In the left-back position
00:16:12When you're a midfielder
00:16:12You know, he should do better
00:16:13But there's the first goal
00:16:15And they didn't fix this problem
00:16:16It just went on and on and on
00:16:18As the game
00:16:19You know, got more
00:16:20More open
00:16:21This one, Saka
00:16:23Inside Spence and van der Ven
00:16:24Three centre-backs
00:16:25Van der Ven's the left one
00:16:27Spence is the wing-back
00:16:28You can see Saka pointing
00:16:29Where he wants it
00:16:30Jed Spence is asking van der Ven
00:16:32The communication's poor
00:16:33From Tottenham
00:16:34Great ball
00:16:35And again, nearly score a goal
00:16:36Opening them up too often
00:16:38Now, Jed Spence here
00:16:39I don't know whether he's been told
00:16:40To go and press
00:16:41Or what the messaging is
00:16:42But if he just drops in
00:16:43And marks Saka
00:16:44Leave Sarr to
00:16:47Close Timber down
00:16:48You don't get this situation
00:16:49Because as I said
00:16:50When you're a central midfield
00:16:51And you find yourself
00:16:52In full-back positions
00:16:53You get a bit lost
00:16:54And then Spence switches off
00:16:56Timber gets in again
00:16:57Because he's non-stop
00:16:58He loves making runs in behind
00:16:59And trusts odds
00:17:00And a lucky little deflection
00:17:01Takes it past the post
00:17:03More of the same second half
00:17:04I actually felt for Jed Spence
00:17:06As the game went on
00:17:06He didn't know what to do
00:17:07Whether it's a drop-off or press
00:17:09The 2v1 situation again
00:17:11A little knockdown from Reis
00:17:12And a bit of last-ditch defending
00:17:14To stop
00:17:14Ezra getting a shot in
00:17:15And this
00:17:16If you leave Timber free
00:17:18The quality he's got
00:17:19I mean this is a wonderful pass
00:17:21Yeah there's still a bit to do
00:17:22From Jokeres
00:17:23But he's just an outstanding player
00:17:25And they really struggled
00:17:28To stop that threat today
00:17:31Didn't really know
00:17:32Who to go
00:17:33When to go
00:17:34Poor communication
00:17:35Poor plan
00:17:37I don't know
00:17:37And Saka topped off
00:17:38A brilliant performance
00:17:40Nearly with a goal
00:17:40Ends up Ezra getting the goal
00:17:42But that position he kept taking
00:17:43Inside the inside right position
00:17:46No one really sure
00:17:47Who to get him
00:17:48And his stats were phenomenal today
00:17:50I mean there's been a few
00:17:51Question marks about him recently
00:17:53What do they say
00:17:54Form is temporary
00:17:55Class is permanent
00:17:55He's a class operator
00:17:57He really is
00:17:57And I think
00:17:59Playing him on that right side
00:18:00Leaving him to get on with it
00:18:01With Timber supporting him
00:18:03Is where we'll see him
00:18:04The rest of the season
00:18:05Because I know he played
00:18:05As a 10 the other day
00:18:06There was a real energy
00:18:07And urgency wasn't there
00:18:09And the game as you pointed out
00:18:10There became quite open
00:18:11Quite quickly
00:18:12But there's one performance
00:18:13In particular you want to
00:18:14Have a look at
00:18:14And Steve Wilson
00:18:16Asked Victor Jokrish
00:18:17If that was his best game
00:18:18Steve clearly thought it was
00:18:20Victor did
00:18:20And you'd third it
00:18:21Yeah I'll third it Gabby
00:18:22No I really think
00:18:23It was a special game for him
00:18:24You know there's so much talk
00:18:25Before he joined the club
00:18:26They need an out and out striker
00:18:27And I think Jokrish today
00:18:28Really said to the Arsenal fans
00:18:30And maybe to the Premier League
00:18:31Have arrived
00:18:32It was one of them
00:18:32Kind of performances
00:18:33He did everything you want
00:18:35From his centre forward
00:18:35He really did
00:18:36You see here
00:18:36Peetan on the back of
00:18:38Paulinho
00:18:38Today was the right side centre half
00:18:39And of course
00:18:40Dragun as well
00:18:41You know occupying the middle of the goal
00:18:43He wins a header
00:18:44Can go anywhere of course
00:18:45But if you just keep an eye on him
00:18:47His movement is
00:18:48What we say
00:18:49A natural centre forward
00:18:50He frees up space for elsewhere
00:18:51You see here
00:18:52Paulinho jumps in
00:18:52Creates the space down the channel
00:18:54The left channel
00:18:55And that's where he's done
00:18:55A lot of his good work
00:18:56This was his first half of course
00:18:57Very close to getting on the score sheet
00:18:59We know Arsenal
00:19:00Brilliant from set plays
00:19:01He's a physical threat
00:19:02In the air as well
00:19:03This time Saliba
00:19:04Should really score
00:19:05With that knockback
00:19:05From Jokrish
00:19:07And again I know
00:19:08Danny mentioned the goal there before
00:19:10But look at his movement here
00:19:11His first touch makes it
00:19:12He doesn't even look up to where the goal is
00:19:14It's a phenomenal strike
00:19:15Vicario absolutely no chance
00:19:16And even here
00:19:17Later on in the game
00:19:18He's down the side
00:19:19Where you want him
00:19:19Your centre forward
00:19:20Keeping high up the pitch
00:19:21You're away from home
00:19:22In a North London derby
00:19:23It's a big game
00:19:24And this is what I love as well
00:19:26Tottenham put a high press on them
00:19:27You want your centre forward
00:19:29Down that side
00:19:30Chasing loss causes sometimes
00:19:31At times
00:19:32And you see Arteta
00:19:33He's happy with his centre forward
00:19:35And this is the icing on the cake
00:19:37In the injury time
00:19:38He's so strong
00:19:39He's so powerful
00:19:40Can he finish it under pressure
00:19:41From grey
00:19:41Too right he can
00:19:43And I think that was
00:19:43For me his best performance
00:19:45And a perfect time as well
00:19:47To get it on the run
00:19:47And to the end of the season
00:19:49He's scored more goals
00:19:50In all competitions in 2026
00:19:52Than any other Premier League player
00:19:54So he really is
00:19:54Hitting his stride
00:19:55At the right time
00:19:56For Arsenal as well
00:19:57I'm sure they'll be delighted
00:19:58With his form in 2026
00:19:59Now you want to have another look
00:20:00At the disallowed goal for Spurs
00:20:02And it's important to say
00:20:03It was the context
00:20:03Of when it occurred in the game
00:20:05That you think is really important
00:20:06I mean Arsenal fans
00:20:07Might want to switch off now
00:20:08Because they won 4-1
00:20:09But I'm just getting to a point
00:20:10Where this could have been 2-2
00:20:11In the game
00:20:11And the only reason I wanted to look at
00:20:13Is because the last two games
00:20:14Brentford away for Arsenal
00:20:15Obviously Wolves that were
00:20:16You know midweek
00:20:17They had a really poor
00:20:18Giveaway leads in the game
00:20:19And I wanted to look at this
00:20:20This is to bring it back to 2-2
00:20:22And you can imagine
00:20:23Gabby in a North London derby
00:20:24As well
00:20:24How much the stadium would erupt
00:20:26If this had been allowed
00:20:26I just think it's soft
00:20:28I mean Peter Banks gives
00:20:28You see Gabriel
00:20:29You see Mwani
00:20:31There's a coming together
00:20:31But this is the Premier League
00:20:32We talk about it every single week
00:20:34It's a physical sport
00:20:34There is coming together
00:20:36You know if I'm off Danny
00:20:36I'm going to barge him
00:20:38I'm going to bump him
00:20:39And the way Gabriel's gone down
00:20:40I mean
00:20:41I don't know what they say
00:20:42I don't want to be too strong here
00:20:43But the BAFTAs are up the road
00:20:44And look at his legs up in the air
00:20:45I mean it's just
00:20:46It's crazy
00:20:47And I think Peter Banks
00:20:48Could have let that go
00:20:49Or even at least spoke to VAR
00:20:51And the reason we say
00:20:51Because there's another couple of examples
00:20:53This is early in the season
00:20:54You look at Jaro
00:20:55On Basse here
00:20:56This goal was allowed
00:20:56This was in August
00:20:57Yeah this is in August Gabby
00:20:58And this goal was allowed
00:20:59There's a push on the back there
00:21:01You know
00:21:01The refs give it on the pitch
00:21:03It's gone to VAR
00:21:04They've said it's
00:21:05It's a goal as well
00:21:06And there's much more of a push there
00:21:08I think than today's push for example
00:21:09I think that's a stronger push
00:21:10And Tottenham fans
00:21:11Will really be angry at this stage now
00:21:13Because this is Eke Tiki on Romero
00:21:14Early in the season
00:21:15Watch this
00:21:16See I don't think this is a foul
00:21:17In Eke Tiki's defence
00:21:19He's got up early
00:21:19It's a physical game
00:21:21But that goal
00:21:22That goal stands
00:21:23Today's goal doesn't stand
00:21:24And maybe I'm clutching a bit
00:21:25Because Danny Wright
00:21:26This is Arsenal
00:21:27We're a much better team today
00:21:28But getting back to 2-2
00:21:29I think it's the psychology
00:21:29It's the psychology
00:21:30It's 2-1
00:21:31It's very different isn't it
00:21:32How do the Arsenal fans react?
00:21:34I agree with you
00:21:36I think it's
00:21:38It's something
00:21:39You want consistency
00:21:40Yeah
00:21:40The reality is that
00:21:42You know
00:21:43If you love football
00:21:44And you enjoy watching it
00:21:45You don't expect
00:21:466-4-4 centre-half
00:21:48To be falling over
00:21:48But to be fair to Gabriel
00:21:50He knows generally
00:21:52That if you get a touch
00:21:53In the back
00:21:53And you go over
00:21:54You're going to get it
00:21:54So it's a kind of
00:21:56Chicken and egg thing
00:21:57Whereas the referees
00:21:58Have got to be stronger
00:21:58But the two examples
00:21:59You showed
00:22:01Exactly
00:22:01More or less
00:22:02Exactly the same
00:22:03So they have a reason
00:22:04To feel disappointed today
00:22:06I think
00:22:06But Arsenal fans right now
00:22:07Are saying
00:22:08But we won 4-1
00:22:09And we now have our
00:22:10Five-point buffer back
00:22:10And probably would have won anyway
00:22:12And so that five-point buffer
00:22:14Is back
00:22:14We don't know when
00:22:15That extra game
00:22:17That Manchester City
00:22:18Are one game behind
00:22:19Obviously in the table
00:22:19Is going to be played
00:22:20Yet hasn't been scheduled
00:22:21We do know
00:22:22That City and Arsenal
00:22:24Will play each other
00:22:25On the 18th of April
00:22:25We heard Arteta there
00:22:27Saying you know
00:22:28This is a marathon
00:22:28Is this going down to the wire
00:22:30Do you think
00:22:30It looks that way
00:22:31I mean you know
00:22:32Man City last night
00:22:33Is a tough game
00:22:33Against Newcastle
00:22:34Newcastle were strong
00:22:35Second half
00:22:35They came out on top
00:22:36Man City
00:22:36You can see the sort of
00:22:38Celebrations
00:22:38Or Pep Guardiola
00:22:40You know
00:22:40See the glint back in his eye
00:22:41He feels that
00:22:42This Man City team
00:22:43Can really pull it together
00:22:44Really push Arsenal
00:22:45I mean to be very
00:22:46Arteta
00:22:46He's been in the same
00:22:47Duggan with Pep
00:22:48He knows he's not going to give up
00:22:49Right to the final game
00:22:50Of the season
00:22:51And you mentioned the game
00:22:52April 18th
00:22:53That looks like nearly
00:22:53Like a cup final
00:22:54Who's going to win
00:22:55The Premier League
00:22:55And that's what we want
00:22:56Is a neutral
00:22:56Is that weekend
00:22:57We want it to go all the way
00:23:00And at the other end of the table
00:23:02Spurs started the day
00:23:04Danny
00:23:04At four points
00:23:05Off the relegation zone
00:23:06And let's have a look
00:23:08At their next six fixtures
00:23:09Because they are right
00:23:10In it now
00:23:11They are
00:23:12They are a banging trouble
00:23:12Because they're so
00:23:14Low on confidence
00:23:15They've got very few
00:23:16Of their best players fit
00:23:17And they've also got to try
00:23:19And get
00:23:20You know
00:23:21The European campaign
00:23:22In
00:23:23While they're tough games
00:23:24Physically
00:23:25A lot of these games
00:23:27They're going to have a chance
00:23:28So of course they are
00:23:28Fulham, Palace, Forest
00:23:29Even Liverpool can
00:23:31Play badly
00:23:32At the moment
00:23:33We've seen that
00:23:34So yeah
00:23:35They're in a hell of a battle
00:23:36Romero back for Liverpool
00:23:37Other players of course
00:23:38To come back as well
00:23:39I'm not sure
00:23:41Who's going to get back
00:23:42And when
00:23:42The reality is
00:23:43It doesn't matter who's playing
00:23:44If they're disorganised
00:23:45And the confidence is low
00:23:46And giving up as many chances
00:23:47As they are today
00:23:48They're going to have problems
00:23:50Spurs staying up for you
00:23:51It's going to be tight
00:23:52They haven't won a game
00:23:53In the Premier League this year
00:23:54So that's a concern
00:23:55Tudor's come in this week
00:23:56You know it was a heavy defeat
00:23:58Today in the North
00:23:58It's the worst possible start
00:24:00For him
00:24:00And as Danny Wright says
00:24:01Them fixtures on paper
00:24:02Look easy
00:24:03But the way they're playing
00:24:04They're decimated by injuries
00:24:05At the minute
00:24:05So I'll say yeah
00:24:07But it's going to be close
00:24:08I think
00:24:08Yeah I think just about
00:24:09Yeah
00:24:09Yeah okay
00:24:11There's a long way to go yet
00:24:12Of course
00:24:13Nottingham Forest
00:24:14Also have a new man in charge
00:24:16We've said that a few times
00:24:17Of course this season
00:24:18Vitor Pereira
00:24:19Took over at the City ground
00:24:20Last week
00:24:21Following the sacking
00:24:21Of Sean Dyche
00:24:22Forest were looking
00:24:23For their first league double
00:24:25Over Liverpool
00:24:25In 63 years
00:24:26Mark Scott
00:24:27Watch this one
00:24:30First the points
00:24:31Then the pints
00:24:32Became Vitor Pereira's
00:24:34Catchphrase at Wolves
00:24:35And he says
00:24:36His post-match tradition
00:24:38Of a beer with the fans
00:24:39After a good result
00:24:40Will continue
00:24:41At the City ground
00:24:42His first game in charge
00:24:44Was certainly worthy
00:24:45Of a toast
00:24:46As Forest slapped
00:24:47Fenerbahce 3-0
00:24:48In Turkey on Thursday
00:24:50So it's no surprise
00:24:51That he goes with
00:24:52The same starting line-up
00:24:53Today
00:24:54Liverpool were forced
00:24:55Into a late change
00:24:57After Florian Vietz
00:24:58Picked up an injury
00:24:59In the warm-up
00:25:00Gravenberg takes his place
00:25:02While Eketike takes over
00:25:04From Chiesa up top
00:25:05In their other change
00:25:06From the cup win
00:25:07Against Brighton
00:25:10Forest
00:25:11Unbeaten in their last
00:25:13Three league games
00:25:14Against Liverpool
00:25:14Winning two of them
00:25:17Curtis Jones
00:25:18Hassled by Sankare
00:25:19No foul
00:25:20Sankare can loft it
00:25:22Forwards handily
00:25:23Hudson Odoi
00:25:24Is in
00:25:25Big save from Alisson
00:25:26And Hudson Odoi
00:25:28Can't do anything
00:25:29With the rebound
00:25:29Hudson Odoi
00:25:31Did well to
00:25:32Riggle clear
00:25:32Of Sir Bosle
00:25:33But Alisson
00:25:34Made himself big
00:25:35First major chance
00:25:36Of the game
00:25:37Goes Nottingham
00:25:38Forest's way
00:25:41Vitor Pereira's
00:25:42Appointment
00:25:42Sees Forest
00:25:43Set a new record
00:25:44Today
00:25:44The first club
00:25:45To have four
00:25:46Different permanent
00:25:47Managers
00:25:47Within the same
00:25:48Premier League season
00:25:53Jones
00:25:53That was risky
00:25:54Anderson
00:25:55On to it
00:25:56And he's gone for it
00:25:57And he wasn't far away
00:26:00Only the one goal
00:26:01This season
00:26:01For Elliot Anderson
00:26:02But had the confidence
00:26:03To take this on
00:26:04And it had Alisson
00:26:06Slightly concerned
00:26:09Ola Aina
00:26:14Hutchinson
00:26:15Oh slip through
00:26:17For Igor Jesus
00:26:17And that's a vital
00:26:19Touch
00:26:19From Virgil van Dijk
00:26:21He rolled away
00:26:22From Canate
00:26:23But couldn't get clear
00:26:25Of Virgil van Dijk
00:26:26Who timed it
00:26:27Impeccably
00:26:30Hutchinson
00:26:40Gives White
00:26:43Hutchinson
00:26:44Chasing
00:26:44And kept it in
00:26:46Elliot Anderson
00:26:47Good area
00:26:48Good try
00:26:51Just a bit
00:26:52Too much height
00:26:53Just wouldn't
00:26:54Drop quickly
00:26:56Enough for here
00:26:56More Nottingham Forest
00:26:58Another nearly moment
00:27:00For the home side
00:27:01We've had a handful
00:27:02Of those
00:27:02In this first half
00:27:07Liverpool dreadful
00:27:08In the first half
00:27:09The only good news
00:27:10For them
00:27:11Is that the score
00:27:11Is still 0-0
00:27:14Anderson
00:27:16Hudson-Odoi
00:27:18Useful
00:27:20And wide
00:27:21From Milenkovic
00:27:23Hasn't scored
00:27:24In the Premier League
00:27:24This season
00:27:25Milenkovic
00:27:25She arrived at
00:27:26Just the right time
00:27:28But couldn't get
00:27:29Just the right contact
00:27:30Not far away
00:27:35Canate
00:27:37Slips out to Cody Gakpo
00:27:42Going the long way
00:27:43Round Gakpo
00:27:44But he's found
00:27:45Salafar stick
00:27:46Intelligent
00:27:46And saved
00:27:48By Ortega
00:27:48Jones denied
00:27:50After 54 minutes
00:27:52Liverpool finally
00:27:53Have their first shot
00:27:54On target
00:27:55And it's a good save
00:27:56From Ortega
00:27:57To prevent
00:27:58Curtis Jones scoring
00:27:59In back-to-back
00:28:00Matches
00:28:02Canate
00:28:04Another poor touch
00:28:05From a Liverpool player
00:28:06Gravenberg lets it
00:28:07Get away from him
00:28:09Sankare
00:28:09Shuffled across
00:28:10To Hutchinson
00:28:13Omari Hutchinson
00:28:15Need some support
00:28:17Gets it from
00:28:18Aina
00:28:18Who gets the ball in
00:28:20And onto the roof
00:28:21Of the net
00:28:21But it's the kind of game
00:28:23Where you feel that
00:28:24Something like that
00:28:25Might be the difference
00:28:26Maker
00:28:27It's been a match
00:28:28Lacking in quality
00:28:29But this almost
00:28:30Found its way in
00:28:33Salah has been
00:28:34Taken off
00:28:34And that means
00:28:35It's now nine
00:28:35Premier League games
00:28:37Without a goal
00:28:37For him
00:28:38The first time
00:28:38That has ever
00:28:39Happened in the
00:28:40Division for him
00:28:41Not been one of
00:28:42His better days
00:28:43But you can say
00:28:44That for most
00:28:45Of the Liverpool team
00:28:47Dominguez
00:28:50Here goes
00:28:50Nico Williams
00:28:55Williams cross
00:28:56Is good
00:28:56Alisson stretching
00:28:57Didn't get there
00:28:58Gibbs White
00:29:00And Sankare
00:29:02It's good
00:29:03A game
00:29:04Low on excitement
00:29:05But the Forest
00:29:06Fans on their feet
00:29:07Here
00:29:07Alisson made a mess
00:29:08Of it
00:29:08Gibbs White
00:29:09Seppert
00:29:10Blocked well
00:29:10By Robertson
00:29:11And Sankare
00:29:12Then dragged it
00:29:13Narrowly wide
00:29:22Canate's wrestled
00:29:23That back
00:29:23Here's Rio
00:29:24And Gamora
00:29:28And Gamora
00:29:29Stands it up
00:29:29Nicely
00:29:30Must be
00:29:30Oh what a save
00:29:31Seppert will take off
00:29:33It's in
00:29:33Would you believe it
00:29:36Liverpool
00:29:36Ball have surely won it
00:29:38With a truly
00:29:39Bizarre goal
00:29:42Eketike has to score from there
00:29:44Got to give Ortega credit for the save
00:29:46But it's a poor header
00:29:47But he gets lucky
00:29:49As the clearance
00:29:50From Ola Aina
00:29:52Smacks into Alexis McAllister
00:29:55And then rebounds into the net
00:29:57Well there may be a reprieve
00:30:00The view is it's off
00:30:06The view is it's off
00:30:19Alexis McAllister's elbow
00:30:31Sankare
00:30:31Sankare
00:30:32Here's Tan and Toy
00:30:33Good work by Gomez
00:30:34Sankare
00:30:36Well that was travelling
00:30:38Had it been on target
00:30:39Alisson would have had a job
00:30:41On his hands
00:30:41To ensure that the ball
00:30:43Ended up in them
00:30:48Dominguez away
00:30:48Only as far as Gomez
00:30:50It's a Liverpool throw
00:30:52Might be the last
00:30:53Meaningful action of the game
00:30:58Soboslai
00:31:00Forrest were expecting
00:31:01The long throw
00:31:03Soboslai now
00:31:03Looks a bit short of ideas
00:31:05He's clipped it in
00:31:06Handily
00:31:07Eketike waited
00:31:08Oh it's gone across
00:31:09Goal
00:31:09McAllister
00:31:12Right at the end
00:31:13Alexis McAllister
00:31:16Breaks Forrest's hearts
00:31:18And this one
00:31:19Will surely count
00:31:21Vitor Pereira
00:31:23Cannot believe it
00:31:26But
00:31:27There will be another check
00:31:30And Forrest might be
00:31:32Bailed out again
00:31:33And now the big question
00:31:35Is whether Virgil van Dijk
00:31:36Was offside
00:31:37His header
00:31:39Half cleared by Murillo
00:31:40McAllister pounced
00:31:42But now
00:31:43It's back to Paul Tierney
00:31:45In the replays room again
00:31:49And a game
00:31:50That had been a real bore
00:31:52Suddenly has
00:31:53An exciting conclusion
00:31:56The goal is good
00:31:58And Liverpool have won it
00:32:00And Alexis McAllister
00:32:02Can celebrate
00:32:04Well here's what the technology
00:32:06Has discerned
00:32:08A toenail
00:32:09In shores
00:32:10Van Dijk is on
00:32:11And Liverpool
00:32:13Are on course
00:32:14For the win
00:32:18A late
00:32:19Late show
00:32:20From Liverpool
00:32:21As Vitor Pereira
00:32:23Is left to rue
00:32:24A point at least
00:32:26That has gone away
00:32:26In his first
00:32:28Premier League game
00:32:29In charge
00:32:31First half
00:32:32I'm not sure I've seen
00:32:33You as poor as that
00:32:34This season
00:32:35What do you think
00:32:35That was down to
00:32:37That's exactly what I said
00:32:38At half time
00:32:39That I haven't seen
00:32:40Is playing so poor
00:32:41But I think we played
00:32:42A much better second half
00:32:44Teams were really tight
00:32:45And in the end
00:32:46We were the lucky one
00:32:48Scoring
00:32:50Twice by the way
00:32:51In extra time
00:32:51But only one was allowed
00:32:52I saw you pointing at your back
00:32:55For the first one
00:32:56That you scored
00:32:56Did it come off your back
00:32:57Or your elbow
00:32:59Both
00:33:00It hit both my elbow
00:33:02And my back
00:33:03That's why I think
00:33:03It was a bit harsh
00:33:04But I understand the rules
00:33:06I feel like
00:33:06The decision is fair
00:33:08But if you think about football
00:33:09I feel like
00:33:10That goal should have stood
00:33:12Very very frustrated
00:33:14You know
00:33:15Because the way that we play
00:33:17The first half
00:33:17Creating chance
00:33:19And playing
00:33:20Pressing them
00:33:21Not conceding nothing
00:33:22In my opinion
00:33:24One point
00:33:25Was
00:33:27Was the minimum
00:33:29Zero points
00:33:30Is you know
00:33:31Is football
00:33:31Not fair today
00:33:33Well
00:33:34Slott kind of summed it up
00:33:35Didn't he
00:33:35Lucky
00:33:36And kind of got away
00:33:38With it there
00:33:38Really
00:33:39Did you ever have that feeling
00:33:40When you left a pitch
00:33:41Thinking
00:33:41A few times
00:33:43Yeah
00:33:43I mean
00:33:44It just was so flat
00:33:45First half
00:33:45It really was
00:33:46It felt like
00:33:46Arna Slott's gone at half time
00:33:47Had to give him a rocket
00:33:49At half time
00:33:49And the second half
00:33:50Was much much better
00:33:51But I can't put my finger
00:33:52On why they were so flat
00:33:53So poor
00:33:54So many performances
00:33:55Below power
00:33:55In the first half
00:33:56Well I think
00:33:56The thing was
00:33:57They were physically poor
00:33:59Which is amazing
00:34:00Considering they had a week's rest
00:34:01And Forrest played on Thursday
00:34:03But mentality
00:34:04You know
00:34:05I mean talking about
00:34:06Experienced players
00:34:07Lack of concentration
00:34:08Poor decision making
00:34:09Poor passing
00:34:10You know
00:34:10So unlike Liverpool
00:34:11I mean they've been better
00:34:12In the last couple of months
00:34:13The odd bad performance
00:34:15But this was
00:34:15They got away with one
00:34:16It was
00:34:17It was really poor
00:34:18First half
00:34:19I mean
00:34:19Van Dijk
00:34:20We know how wonderful
00:34:21A player he is
00:34:22But even he was making mistakes
00:34:23Sloppy little pass
00:34:24Got away with this one
00:34:25And he's got away with this one
00:34:25Early on
00:34:26But it kind of set the tone
00:34:27And you were just waiting
00:34:28For Liverpool to wake up
00:34:29And they didn't
00:34:30Sangare was terrific
00:34:31Winning the ball back
00:34:32Jones losing the ball there
00:34:34Too easily
00:34:35So Bosley
00:34:36Who's trying to edge forward there
00:34:37Because he's not used to play
00:34:38Well he's played right back
00:34:39A few times
00:34:39But he's
00:34:40He wants to get forward
00:34:42Doesn't he
00:34:42Rather than defend
00:34:43Van Dijk
00:34:44Another sloppy ball
00:34:46So Bosley does his best with it
00:34:47Wax it clear
00:34:48Then losing the duel
00:34:50In the middle of the pitch
00:34:51Poor touch
00:34:51Elliott Anderson
00:34:52This time
00:34:53Coming close
00:34:54He was terrific
00:34:54This afternoon as well
00:34:56And they didn't seem to learn
00:34:57I mean
00:34:58Alisson's the coolest
00:34:58Goalkeeper in the Prem
00:35:00Or one of
00:35:00And even he was at it
00:35:01It was infectious
00:35:02It was spreading
00:35:03Throughout the team
00:35:03And when you think
00:35:04Of how big a game it was
00:35:06And what happened
00:35:06With Chelsea yesterday
00:35:07Salah losing the ball
00:35:09Struggled at times
00:35:10Today again
00:35:11Straight onto the Liverpool
00:35:12Backline
00:35:13Hard when you keep
00:35:14Losing the ball
00:35:14The forwards weren't getting
00:35:15Any ball at all
00:35:16In the first half
00:35:17Giving it away again
00:35:18In their own box
00:35:20Last ditch block there
00:35:21To stop Gibbs White
00:35:22But second half
00:35:23Was much better
00:35:24Intensity was better
00:35:25Obviously Shea said
00:35:26They had a rocket
00:35:27Won the ball
00:35:28Won more duels
00:35:29Got more men in the box
00:35:30And then early
00:35:31In the second half
00:35:33Jones got himself in
00:35:34Who switched to right back
00:35:35At this point
00:35:35It's a wonderful save
00:35:36Look at there's the numbers
00:35:37In the box
00:35:38And again you see
00:35:39The next clip in a second
00:35:41Just players brighter
00:35:42Sharper
00:35:43Playing through the lines
00:35:46Little flicks
00:35:47Around the corner
00:35:47Keeping the ball better
00:35:49More urgency
00:35:50More intent
00:35:51Just a lot better
00:35:52In the second half
00:35:53And they were fortunate
00:35:54That they went in
00:35:540-0 half time
00:35:55And were able to
00:35:57Try and go and win the game
00:35:58And this was a poor one
00:35:59From Salah
00:35:59But they were much better
00:36:00Second half
00:36:01I think Engel Moore
00:36:02Came off the bench as well
00:36:03He made a difference
00:36:03Didn't he
00:36:04He was really sharp
00:36:04Off the bench
00:36:05The young man
00:36:06He is brilliant
00:36:07This is obviously late in the game
00:36:09And they thought
00:36:09They've sneaked the winner
00:36:10Here he is in the wing
00:36:11He was very sharp
00:36:12Very positive
00:36:13Getting at the fullback
00:36:15Nico here
00:36:16Watch this in the middle
00:36:16Of the box here
00:36:17McAllister thinks he scored
00:36:18It's a brilliant save
00:36:19From Ortega
00:36:20To be fair
00:36:20And then to be fair
00:36:35McAllister turns
00:36:37He's had a phenomenal season
00:36:39I know Liverpool have dipped
00:36:40But this guy's gone up
00:36:41A level
00:36:41He's just awesome
00:36:42Perfect ball into the box
00:36:43Van Dijk with a header
00:36:45And I think Murillo
00:36:45And Ortega get mixed up
00:36:46But credit to McAllister
00:36:48Again
00:36:48This is the offside
00:36:49We all thought it was offside
00:36:50We couldn't see
00:36:50Einer around the back
00:36:51He's playing him onside
00:36:52And McAllister again
00:36:53We know he likes to get
00:36:54In the box Gabby
00:36:55And he follows it up
00:36:57With the goal
00:36:58And it's a very late one
00:36:58But one he'll love it
00:37:00When he watches it back
00:37:01And there's the stats itself
00:37:02I mean they speak for themselves
00:37:03Don't they
00:37:04The first half performance
00:37:04Was horrendous
00:37:06Lots to agree with that
00:37:07Horrendous
00:37:08And then second half
00:37:08Was absolutely brilliant
00:37:09Well not absolutely brilliant
00:37:10But it's gone up a level
00:37:12It's all relative isn't it
00:37:13I mean those stats would say
00:37:14A marked improvement
00:37:15In the second half
00:37:16But there's a lot for Pereira
00:37:17To be positive about
00:37:19With Forrest
00:37:20Not the start he wanted
00:37:21In fact you have to go back
00:37:21To 1997
00:37:23Dave Bassett
00:37:24For a Premier League manager
00:37:24For Forrest
00:37:25To win their opening
00:37:26League game as manager
00:37:27So he's following in
00:37:28A long line here
00:37:29He is
00:37:30I mean but he will
00:37:30After the disappointment
00:37:32Watch that back
00:37:33And see a lot of good things
00:37:34From his team
00:37:35Especially after playing
00:37:36Thursday evening
00:37:37The two central midfield boys
00:37:38Were outstanding
00:37:39And dominated the game
00:37:40Especially in the first half
00:37:41You know caused Liverpool
00:37:42A lot of problems
00:37:43With and without the ball actually
00:37:45You can see the numbers here
00:37:47They were a real plus for him
00:37:48And all you could say
00:37:50With Forrest really
00:37:51Is that little
00:37:51Lack of quality
00:37:53In the final third
00:37:54At times
00:37:55Is hindering them
00:37:56The rest of it
00:37:57Looked really good
00:37:58Of course
00:37:58Late in the game
00:37:59They come under a bit of pressure
00:38:00Playing Liverpool
00:38:01It's going to happen
00:38:02But overall
00:38:03That performance
00:38:04From Forrest
00:38:05I think to me
00:38:06That looks like a team
00:38:07Who are going to stay up
00:38:08They're two points
00:38:09Above the relegation zone
00:38:11You've said that
00:38:11With quite a bit of certainty
00:38:12Compared to the debate
00:38:13You can't say
00:38:14He's gone early
00:38:14He's gone early
00:38:16And it's going to be close
00:38:17I think
00:38:18Nottingham Forrest
00:38:18I mean the fourth manager
00:38:19This season
00:38:20You know the owner
00:38:21Has put his money
00:38:22In his pocket
00:38:22But you're talking
00:38:23Four different managers
00:38:24Four different voices
00:38:25And times four different systems
00:38:26So it's not all perfect
00:38:28But brilliant result
00:38:29Against you know
00:38:29Fernand Bacci midweek
00:38:30And they played well today
00:38:31As well
00:38:31So they may be
00:38:32Orica done
00:38:33Of course
00:38:34With Wolves in the situation
00:38:36That they're in
00:38:37And if they are
00:38:38Headed for the drop
00:38:40And West Ham
00:38:40Of course as well
00:38:41You've got Pereira
00:38:42Potentially a manager
00:38:43Who could be taking
00:38:44Two teams down
00:38:45Or could be involved
00:38:46In two teams going down
00:38:47This season
00:38:48Nobody's done that before
00:38:49Well he won't want to be
00:38:50That one will he
00:38:51Because it's
00:38:51Hell of a bad record
00:38:53And then Nuno
00:38:53Of course the reason
00:38:54I mention West Ham
00:38:55Of course is Nuno
00:38:55Yeah I think
00:38:56What you can see
00:38:57In those two games
00:38:58Is that the players
00:38:59Are certainly on board
00:39:00With what he's asking
00:39:00Them to do
00:39:01The energy's good
00:39:02You know they looked
00:39:03Quite confident
00:39:04For a team who were
00:39:04Fighting relegation
00:39:05Normally you can sense
00:39:06A bit of nerves
00:39:07And there's you know
00:39:08A bit of tentative play
00:39:10And players not taking
00:39:11Responsibility
00:39:12I didn't see that today
00:39:13Confidence for Forrest
00:39:15Okay
00:39:16After a last gasp
00:39:18Midweek draw for Wolves
00:39:19Against Arsenal
00:39:20Rob Edwards men
00:39:21Travelled to a Crystal Palace
00:39:22Side winless at home
00:39:23In eight
00:39:23Chris Wyatt
00:39:24Was at Selhurst Park
00:39:27There is a hazy
00:39:28Air of uncertainty
00:39:29Around Crystal Palace
00:39:31Even putting aside
00:39:32The lingering fear
00:39:33Of being sucked
00:39:34Into a relegation fight
00:39:35These Palace fans
00:39:37Aren't even sure
00:39:38Their managers
00:39:38Now going to be
00:39:39With them
00:39:40Until the end
00:39:40Of the season
00:39:41Robert Glasner
00:39:42Is short of options
00:39:43Today
00:39:44Particularly in his
00:39:45Defense
00:39:45Lacroix and Lerma
00:39:47Are now absent
00:40:16And in only his third
00:40:17Character recently
00:40:20One mistake by
00:40:21Mosquera
00:40:22And Jeremy Pino
00:40:23Is in
00:40:24And he's locked
00:40:24Jose Sarr
00:40:25But he's missed
00:40:27Well you could see
00:40:28Exactly what
00:40:28Pino was trying
00:40:29To do
00:40:30Because Sarr
00:40:31Was a long way
00:40:32Off his goal line
00:40:33There
00:40:33Mosquera
00:40:34Got that horribly
00:40:34Wrong
00:40:35Didn't get the
00:40:36Technique right
00:40:37Did he
00:40:37There Pino
00:40:45Because the ball
00:40:47To him
00:40:47Wasn't great
00:40:48Here's Adam
00:40:49Armstrong
00:40:51This is Mané
00:40:52Mané's pulled over
00:40:53By Cambo
00:40:54That's going to be
00:40:55A yellow card
00:40:56For the Palace
00:40:56Defender
00:40:59It was just too
00:41:00Quick for him
00:41:01Shifted the ball
00:41:02One way
00:41:03To use his body
00:41:04Well
00:41:06Wolves
00:41:07Asking questions
00:41:08Of this
00:41:10Relatively untried
00:41:10Crystal Palace
00:41:11Defence
00:41:14Pino
00:41:14And
00:41:15Belgaard
00:41:16The two Wolves
00:41:16Players over
00:41:17The free kick
00:41:18Belgaard's got it
00:41:19Beyond the wall
00:41:19But not beyond
00:41:20The hands of
00:41:20Henderson
00:41:21Who pushes it
00:41:21Away for a corner
00:41:24Everything covered
00:41:25Appropriately
00:41:25In the end
00:41:26The Palace
00:41:26Goalkeeper
00:41:29This has been
00:41:30The case
00:41:30For
00:41:31Quite a few
00:41:32Games
00:41:32Now
00:41:32This does not
00:41:33Look like a team
00:41:33That are at the
00:41:34Bottom of the
00:41:34Premier League
00:41:36Mascara's having
00:41:37To retreat here
00:41:38Strand Larsen's
00:41:39Got to it
00:41:39Ahead of him
00:41:41Strand Larsen
00:41:42Look for
00:41:43Mascara
00:41:43What's Munoz
00:41:44Going to do
00:41:44He's going to
00:41:45Leave it
00:41:46Leave it
00:41:47For a Palace
00:41:47Corner
00:41:48With a life
00:41:49All of a sudden
00:41:50In Palace's
00:41:51Forward line
00:41:52On the periphery
00:41:53Of this game
00:41:54So far
00:41:54Jürgen Strand Larsen
00:41:55But
00:41:55He was the one
00:41:56Trying to make
00:41:57It happen there
00:41:59Crystal Palace
00:42:00Bodies
00:42:01Beyond Jose
00:42:02Saar
00:42:02At that far
00:42:03Post
00:42:03And Hughes
00:42:04Ball has gone
00:42:05To the near
00:42:05Post
00:42:05That's really
00:42:06Well worked
00:42:07And Pino
00:42:07Has hit the
00:42:08Post
00:42:09How unfortunate
00:42:10Is that
00:42:11From Jeremy
00:42:11Pino
00:42:12And from
00:42:12Crystal Palace
00:42:13Who
00:42:14Got that set
00:42:15Piece
00:42:15Absolutely
00:42:16Right
00:42:17Maybe
00:42:18Maybe the only
00:42:18Problem in all
00:42:19Of that
00:42:19Is that
00:42:19Pino
00:42:20Didn't
00:42:20Connect
00:42:20With it
00:42:21As well
00:42:21As he
00:42:21Would have
00:42:25Liked
00:42:59Just very desperate defending all round from Crystal Palace, Santalu Orikadare, a Wolves team that have not won away from
00:43:12home in the Premier League all season.
00:43:16Orikadare and Henderson saves it!
00:43:21I think he made up his mind exactly where he was going to go and Henderson knew that.
00:43:27Wolves blow a huge opportunity to give themselves a massive moment in this Premier League season that they have been
00:43:35without throughout.
00:43:44Asar breaking beyond Wolves defence. Beyond Krejci though.
00:43:50They are going to be leaning on Ismail Asar now to bring that directness to this Palace team that has
00:43:55really been lacking from the performance today.
00:43:58It's him on the end of it again but it's only as far as Mitchell and that was creeping towards
00:44:03the top corner of Saar's goal.
00:44:06Feeding on very little in this game Crystal Palace and it was a moment.
00:44:13A free kick won by Ismail Asar.
00:44:18A card as well for the offender Ladislav Krejci who is slowly hooking himself up to see the colour of
00:44:26the cards.
00:44:29I'm sure he would have heard the chance during the week in that play-out of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
00:44:35He came from some sections of that away Palace support.
00:44:40Five months last week since Crystal Palace's FA Cup success.
00:44:45Strat Larsson going after it. Krejci feeling the company and feeling it enough that he's not only conceded the throw
00:44:54he's also in trouble here.
00:44:55Ladislav Krejci, he's on a yellow card, he's kicked the ball away and Ladislav Krejci receives the most unnecessary second
00:45:04yellow.
00:45:05In one previous season with Sparta Prague, Ladislav Krejci got five red cards in a single season.
00:45:13He's got one for Wolves today.
00:45:16And Rob Edwards team trying to hold on to any threads they can of hope and that is going to
00:45:21be extinguished it would seem.
00:45:30At least those substitutes that have come on for Palace are livening things up in the forward line.
00:45:35Wharton for Munoz, back to Wharton again.
00:45:39Walls with ten behind the ball all on the edge of their area or in it.
00:45:43Low by Mitchell, gets on!
00:45:47Right on the 90 minute mark.
00:45:52That is the moment to score your first Premier League goal for Crystal Palace.
00:46:01And surely it ends this long winless home run for Palace.
00:46:11The resilience of Wolves cracked at the last.
00:46:20Last time they saw a win here November the 1st when Brentford were beaten.
00:46:29Wolves edging closer to the inevitable.
00:46:32The weekend passing by for Rob Edwards team without an away win in the Premier League.
00:46:39Obviously the two big moments, the penalty missing and the sending off, have shaped the game in the end unfortunately.
00:46:44But it feels harsh today but that is football.
00:46:46I feel like we deserved a lot more from a really good performance, a really hard-working performance.
00:46:50I think the fans could see that at the end, that's why they were with the lads at the end
00:46:53when we were over to say thank you.
00:46:54Fans were brilliant today.
00:46:55So that was a lot to take from it but very frustrating as well.
00:46:59What sort of reaction do you think you got from the Crystal Palace fans today?
00:47:05For me, it's important that they support the team and they did it.
00:47:08This is what they always did since I am here.
00:47:10I just can't speak for the last two years and when I arrived the club was in a very bad
00:47:15situation and felt support from the first day.
00:47:18You said last week that you weren't sure whether you were going to still be the Crystal Palace manager in
00:47:24the weeks ahead.
00:47:25I know you've already said you're leaving at the end of the season.
00:47:27Has that changed over the weekend?
00:47:29For me, Oliver Glasner is not important.
00:47:31It's Crystal Palace that is important.
00:47:34If the club had thought they need a change, then I don't want to be in the way.
00:47:39That's what I meant.
00:47:41We had the best two years in Crystal Palace history.
00:47:43And then it's not so easy also for a club to say, hey, I think it's better you leave.
00:47:47The most important thing is Crystal Palace.
00:47:49And I'm here to give 100% to be successful for Crystal Palace.
00:47:55So maybe now it's clearer.
00:47:57Well, we'll get on to Glasner in a moment.
00:48:00But first of all, you want to have another look at a Roccadares penalty.
00:48:05Obviously, Dean Henderson's got a very good record.
00:48:06He's saved four this season.
00:48:08Nobody else has saved more in the Premier League.
00:48:09So your technique is going to have to be spot on.
00:48:11Yeah, I felt for him because he had a bit of an off day in a sense with the chances
00:48:15as well before this.
00:48:16He didn't look like he was full of confidence and it's a really poor penalty.
00:48:18And the thing about Wolves as well, they were playing really well in the game.
00:48:21You know, they get their nose in front.
00:48:23This is the first half.
00:48:24Let's be honest, it's a comfortable saying from Dean Henderson.
00:48:26Yes, if he goes the wrong way, it's a goal.
00:48:28But Roccadares has got to be more confident.
00:48:30We look at the people who took penalties in the past for them.
00:48:33Krejci took...
00:48:34He was taking them for Sparta Prague.
00:48:36He took 13 and scored 12.
00:48:38Yeah.
00:48:39Adam Armstrong as well is on the pitch.
00:48:40You're looking at other players on the pitch who've got a record of scoring.
00:48:42He scored 17 out of 23.
00:48:44So there's...
00:48:46He's missed his last three.
00:48:47So today he's missed the last four penalties in a row.
00:48:49You know, the three previous ones.
00:48:51And it's just...
00:48:52But he's a striker, so he's going to want to take them.
00:48:54That you have to admire.
00:48:55But the coach, Rob Edwards, I mean, you know, whether he knew, he should know.
00:49:00And you can't let someone keep taking penalties if they're missing them.
00:49:02I know it wasn't for Wolves, but the reality is when there's players on the pitch with a good record
00:49:06on penalties, they should take them.
00:49:07Yeah, he'd missed his last three for Genk.
00:49:10Krejci, who we mentioned there, who was obviously a decent penalty taker, was sent off.
00:49:14Second yellow card.
00:49:16You felt perhaps a little bit unfair.
00:49:19A little bit harsh.
00:49:19Kicking the ball away, but there was mitigating circumstances.
00:49:21Tom Kirk, the referee, there's lots of glowing terms on how well he's performed as a referee.
00:49:25He's only his third game, I think.
00:49:26And he's sent three people off, three red cards in three games.
00:49:29But I actually think Krejci's a bit unlucky here.
00:49:32You know, this is his second yellow card.
00:49:34We heard the whistle going off there, Gary.
00:49:35We did.
00:49:35But if you watch this sort of the close-up of him, he thinks the ball's still in play.
00:49:38He's focused in the zone.
00:49:39That's the Crystal Palace thing, where it's quite lively behind the goal there.
00:49:43It's quite noisy in a sense.
00:49:44I just think it's harsh.
00:49:46It's 1.5 seconds, I think, between the whistle and him kicking the ball away.
00:49:50Watch Stran Larsson here as well.
00:49:52He goes to block it.
00:49:53If he actually blocks this, I don't think he gets a second yellow card.
00:49:56That's on the hour mark.
00:49:57He's not looking at the lines.
00:49:58He thinks the ball's still in play.
00:50:00I don't know.
00:50:00Tom Kirk might look back and have a bit more experience.
00:50:02Maybe I could have let him stay on the pitch, perhaps.
00:50:05Just a wee bit harsher felt.
00:50:06And Rob Edwards acknowledged that that really did change it for them.
00:50:08Because Wolves had, you know, obviously a big lift, didn't they?
00:50:10Coming back as they did against Arsenal and came into this game full of confidence from that.
00:50:15Yeah, they did.
00:50:15And they played some good stuff.
00:50:16And it did change the whole game.
00:50:19And they'll be really disappointed.
00:50:21But for Palace, it was a massive boost because they were desperate for a win.
00:50:24Does this calm things down a little bit with the whole Oliver Glasner question?
00:50:28I think it does.
00:50:28I mean, obviously, we know what's happening now.
00:50:31We know what's gone on in terms of losing the best players.
00:50:33And he said he's going to leave.
00:50:34But I think he deserves the respect and the right to stay till the end of the season,
00:50:39what he's done for the football club.
00:50:40A small section of fans were expressing their disquiet, obviously, with some banners.
00:50:46Overall, though, do you get the sense that the fans generally, you know,
00:50:51they're delighted with their last two years that they've had.
00:50:53And he acknowledged that, didn't he?
00:50:54That, you know, this is the best two years in the club's history.
00:50:57He is going in the summer.
00:50:58The board have said that he's the man they want to lead them through to the summer.
00:51:02So, does everybody just need to kind of take him away?
00:51:04It's a shame that you think the way it's ending.
00:51:05But, you know, as you said, the most successful period in Palace is history.
00:51:08And it's ending like this.
00:51:09You know, every week he's saying a few things he shouldn't say as a manager.
00:51:12And it should end better.
00:51:13It should be like nearly a statue outside of Crystal Palace because he's done so well.
00:51:17I think a lot of Crystal Palace fans are grateful to him for what he's done.
00:51:20And although there's been some discrepancies along the way in recent months,
00:51:23most of them are very grateful for the times he's given.
00:51:26And they are very grateful for the win today as well,
00:51:30because that has also settled things down.
00:51:32Right. Plenty more sport for you across the BBC this week.
00:51:35Mark Chapman and guests will have the last word on the weekend on the Monday night club
00:51:39from seven tomorrow on Five Live.
00:51:41BBC Sounds, iPlayer and YouTube.
00:51:43Highlights of the second legs of the Champions League knockout playoffs
00:51:46from 10.40 on Wednesday night here on BBC One.
00:51:49Michael Carrick is the latest subject of the football interview
00:51:52that's available now on iPlayer.
00:51:55And you can catch up with everything from these past two days.
00:51:58Match of the day and individual highlights of every Premier League game.
00:52:01They're all available right now on iPlayer.
00:52:04Two points and two places separated Sunderland and Fulham at the start of the day
00:52:08with the Londoners on a run of three straight defeats in the league.
00:52:12Commentary comes from Alistair Mann.
00:52:14Having given up their proud unbeaten home record to Liverpool last time out,
00:52:19Sunderland will be keen to rekindle their form,
00:52:22particularly given the enticing prospect of moving up to eighth
00:52:26while overtaking Newcastle in the process should they win.
00:52:30Their only change to that Liverpool defeat sees Ivorian winger
00:52:33Joslan Tabi make his Premier League debut.
00:52:36Marco Silva was sufficiently pleased with his size performance
00:52:39in the defeat at Manchester City in their last league game
00:52:43that he makes just one enforced alteration
00:52:45with record signing Kevin replacing the injured Samuel Chukwese.
00:52:50They are seeking their first Premier League away win of 2026.
00:52:55Fulham who won 1-0 in the reverse game in November
00:52:58are today seeking their first lead double over Sunderland in 23 years.
00:53:05Now Berger, Iwobi, Kevin...
00:53:10That was a shot, you know.
00:53:13Kevin in a really good position here.
00:53:17The only post he ended up getting close to was the corner flag.
00:53:25Berger, Iwobi, Smith-Rowe, Sessegnon, good Fulham move!
00:53:30Oh, it deserved better than the finish from Sessegnon.
00:53:35Flowing from Fulham, that's more what they're about.
00:53:38Smith-Rowe back to Sessegnon, and he bent it round the angle of post and bar.
00:53:48Foul by Jimenez, he doesn't like that decision.
00:53:51He's going to like even less the yellow card that accompanies it.
00:53:56Forearm into the face of Ballard.
00:54:04Jimenez has just gone up with Alderete.
00:54:06He was booked earlier, he's going to have to be careful here.
00:54:10You can hear what the home supporters feel should be the outcome.
00:54:13Jimenez is perplexed.
00:54:15Says, I've done nothing wrong.
00:54:20Mundell, tackled by Tete.
00:54:22Here's Hulme.
00:54:24Had to slip it through to Angelo.
00:54:26Seen by Sessegnon.
00:54:27On it goes to Mundell!
00:54:29Who misses!
00:54:31What a glorious opening.
00:54:34A game of few clear-cut chances.
00:54:37And Mundell has just fluffed the best of them.
00:54:40Brilliant from Gautrada.
00:54:42Mundell puts it wide.
00:54:46It's a good ball.
00:54:48Anderson to Wilson.
00:54:52Jimenez, Iwobi.
00:54:53Oh, and it hit the leg of Hulme.
00:54:55That was going in.
00:54:57But Hulme stuck out a boot and diverted it out for them.
00:55:01To the corner.
00:55:01And all of a sudden, at the start of the second half,
00:55:04good chances at both ends.
00:55:08Iwobi delivers.
00:55:09Jimenez scores.
00:55:13Well, it was his goal that beat Sunderland at Craven Cottage in November.
00:55:18With so few clear-cut openings.
00:55:20Might it be Jimenez that settles this contest as well?
00:55:23The delivery.
00:55:25The header.
00:55:26Simplicity itself.
00:55:28In a game of so few clear-cut openings.
00:55:32Jimenez nudges Fulham in front.
00:55:37Wilson.
00:55:39Caught by Hulme.
00:55:41Free kick to Fulham.
00:55:47Hulme's puzzled reaction.
00:55:49Tells you he doesn't believe that was a foul.
00:55:52Just clipped the heel of Wilson.
00:55:56Full and free kick.
00:55:59Having just taken the lead from a set-piece.
00:56:03Wilson delivers.
00:56:04As Bassey goes down.
00:56:06Touched away by Rufus.
00:56:08Bassey is absolutely certain that should be a penalty.
00:56:13Robby pulls the shirt of Bassey.
00:56:16They might just call Craig Pawson to the screen here.
00:56:22But...
00:56:23I just think he'll have to give it.
00:56:25I just don't think he's got a choice.
00:56:27The final decision is a penalty kick to Fulham.
00:56:31Yep, confirmed as a penalty.
00:56:36And in the space of just a few minutes here in the second half.
00:56:41Jimenez has the chance to give Fulham a handsome lead.
00:56:46And he waited for the weight to shift the other way.
00:56:49And tucked it in the other corner.
00:56:51And Raul Jimenez now scores twice in just a few minutes.
00:56:55And Fulham have control here.
00:56:57And once Rufus has shifted his weight one way,
00:57:00Jimenez put it the other.
00:57:03Hulme.
00:57:04Le Fay.
00:57:07Had to find Mundell that Wilson got a foot in.
00:57:10Smith Rowe.
00:57:11Berger.
00:57:12Sunderland win it back.
00:57:14Mundell.
00:57:15Robby.
00:57:17Angelo!
00:57:19Puts it over the bar.
00:57:24Angelo hitting it towards the goal.
00:57:26And I do think Leno just claws this one over the bar.
00:57:33Towards Ballard.
00:57:39Oh, battling away to try and make something of it.
00:57:43Then goes over.
00:57:44Penalty.
00:57:45Sunderland with her way back in.
00:57:48All because of Ballard's determination.
00:57:51Holds off Bob.
00:57:53Holds off Sessegnon.
00:57:55Pull to the floor.
00:57:56Penalty.
00:57:59Le Fay.
00:58:01Against Bernd Leno.
00:58:03Two off.
00:58:06And the stadium of light believes.
00:58:12Enzo Le Fay.
00:58:14Usually.
00:58:15Deadly accurate from the spot.
00:58:17And this.
00:58:18Consistent with that ruthlessness from 12 yards.
00:58:25Siddiqui.
00:58:28Cleared.
00:58:29Here's Wilson.
00:58:33Scampering forward and it's three on two with the pace of Wilson.
00:58:37And the ball through is a good one to Iwobi.
00:58:41And Iwobi makes it three one.
00:58:44A brilliant counter attack from Fulham.
00:58:47Wilson outstanding.
00:58:49Iwobi's finished delicate.
00:58:51And with Sunderland having built a platform for a recovery.
00:58:56They're back to two in arrears.
00:58:59Wilson gets the ball.
00:59:01And Iwobi.
00:59:03And Oscar Bob.
00:59:05Trying to take defenders out of the way.
00:59:08Wilson.
00:59:09Into Iwobi.
00:59:11And the finish over roofs is outstanding.
00:59:15And Fulham.
00:59:16Once again on target for a win.
00:59:18Just as Sunderland.
00:59:20Began to feel that they could get something from the game.
00:59:23When they pulled it back to 2-1.
00:59:25The crowd was up.
00:59:26The place was bouncing.
00:59:27How pleased were you with the way that your character came to the fore?
00:59:30That was the moment that we.
00:59:32We showed quality.
00:59:34Maturity.
00:59:35Confusion.
00:59:36Organization.
00:59:38And the braveness.
00:59:38That is the.
00:59:39Those are the important moments that you have to really to step up.
00:59:43And we did it.
00:59:44Facts are clear.
00:59:46We are struggling a bit.
00:59:48At the moment.
00:59:49With injuries.
00:59:51With lack of quality sometimes.
00:59:54But the team spirit is still there.
00:59:56We still have this ambition to get better.
00:59:58And we want to win points.
01:00:00And when it's not the case.
01:00:01We're not happy.
01:00:02You had a really good counter attack goal.
01:00:04How pleased were you with that little dink over the keeper?
01:00:06Yeah.
01:00:06I mean I was happy.
01:00:07I mean I didn't think H was going to.
01:00:09I didn't expect him to play me.
01:00:10Because H is in great form.
01:00:11And normally when H shoots.
01:00:12So it's usually a goal.
01:00:13So for him to play that great pass in my hand.
01:00:15And I see where the keeper's position.
01:00:17I just literally tried to lift it over him.
01:00:19So yeah.
01:00:20It was a good goal.
01:00:20Good counter attack.
01:00:22It was a lot of running.
01:00:22But there were many things.
01:00:24I was able to put the ball in the back of the net.
01:00:25They started the day with Sunderland in 12th.
01:00:27And Fulham in 10th going into this one.
01:00:29And they are two teams who've had much better form haven't they?
01:00:33And wanted to kind of arrest a slide.
01:00:35More understandable for Sunderland.
01:00:37They've had a wonderful season.
01:00:39Exceeded expectation.
01:00:40The one thing with Fulham.
01:00:42You do get the ups and downs.
01:00:43But they're a good watch.
01:00:44You know I've got a lot of friends who still go to the game.
01:00:45And at the games.
01:00:47And generally they're so pleased with the type of football they're seeing under Marco Silva.
01:00:52The only negative at the moment is because he's not signing the new deal.
01:00:55The feeling is that he's probably going to move on.
01:00:58Which I think will be a real shame.
01:01:00Because I think he's really established Fulham as a good Premier League club.
01:01:04Who are good to watch.
01:01:05And improves players.
01:01:07So ideally he'd like him to stay.
01:01:09But like most Fulham fans would.
01:01:10But I don't think it's going to happen.
01:01:13Well on for Fulham.
01:01:14Alex Iwobi caught the eye for you didn't he?
01:01:16He was the performer you want to have a look at.
01:01:18Yeah Danny's right is a tough place to go to.
01:01:19I think Sunday this year.
01:01:21And Iwobi especially today.
01:01:22For me was the standout player for Fulham.
01:01:24He really had a top performance.
01:01:26I mean managers in the past have played him way.
01:01:28But I think he's found his home central midfield.
01:01:30This is where I like to see Alex play.
01:01:31Right in the middle.
01:01:32Receives it obviously.
01:01:33Playing forward.
01:01:34Cessna maybe should do better with the shot on this occasion.
01:01:37But you see him here.
01:01:38You know just floating into the box again.
01:01:39He's a bit old school.
01:01:42Box to box midfielder you know.
01:01:43And again a forward thinking pass.
01:01:45Can he play the ball into one of his fellow attacking players.
01:01:49Again you know watch him on the left hand side of the picture here.
01:01:51He's just not happy by watching and supporting the play.
01:01:53He's thinking I can get a chance inside the box.
01:01:55You know Sunday leave him you know free.
01:01:57This is his delivery for the first goal.
01:01:59First goal in all games apart.
01:02:00A brilliant delivery from Iwobi into the box.
01:02:03And again watch this.
01:02:04This is I think in the 85th minute this.
01:02:06You know he could have just said we'll just defend the 2-1 lead.
01:02:08But you see how quick they are breaking.
01:02:10He mentioned Harry Wilson.
01:02:11He said another brilliant season.
01:02:12This pass from Harry is absolutely magic.
01:02:14And the finish you get sort of defenders sliding in.
01:02:16The keepers coming out.
01:02:17This is a man full of confidence.
01:02:18Right on top of his game.
01:02:20And that is a brilliant finish.
01:02:21It really is.
01:02:22And he said it was a hard run in the 85th minute.
01:02:24But it's well worth it.
01:02:25When you get a brilliant goal they got.
01:02:27And it's a victory shield.
01:02:29And obviously the stats.
01:02:30And when you see the graph there.
01:02:31They speak for themselves.
01:02:32He had a brilliant real performance.
01:02:34And again away from home.
01:02:35You want your players to stand up.
01:02:36And Alex stood up today with a great performance.
01:02:38Third time he's had a Premier League goal.
01:02:40And assist in the same game in his career.
01:02:42But it certainly wasn't good with him.
01:02:43As it was for Raul Jimenez.
01:02:44Who scored two goals.
01:02:45One of them a penalty.
01:02:47And he is penalty perfection isn't he?
01:02:50He is super confident.
01:02:52Not my favourite technique in the world.
01:02:54But it doesn't matter.
01:02:54Because he never misses.
01:02:55He's actually led the line well for Fulham.
01:02:58And not been prolific with his goal scoring.
01:03:00Missed quite a few chances.
01:03:01But he's so reliable from the spot.
01:03:02And leads the line really well.
01:03:04He does the slow stutter.
01:03:05He watches the keeper.
01:03:07And he just feels.
01:03:08I mean we talked about lack of confidence before.
01:03:11He always looks super confident when he goes up and takes penalty.
01:03:14And he is top of the pops when it comes to penalties taken and scored.
01:03:18In that he's never missed.
01:03:19Those players there have never missed a penalty.
01:03:22Murphy isn't there.
01:03:23Did he get at the bottom of that.
01:03:24He's not there.
01:03:24Because.
01:03:25Because.
01:03:26He missed one.
01:03:27I did.
01:03:28Took 19 and scored 18.
01:03:31Which is a 94.7% success rate.
01:03:33You know if it wasn't for Joe Hartman.
01:03:34Good old mate.
01:03:35It would have been 19 out of 19.
01:03:37He got into your head.
01:03:38He did indeed.
01:03:40But you scored the rebound from that one.
01:03:42He did.
01:03:42But it doesn't count.
01:03:43It doesn't count on the list.
01:03:44That's why he's not on the list is it?
01:03:46He didn't save any though.
01:03:47No.
01:03:47In terms of Sunderland.
01:03:49They've got Xhaka back.
01:03:50Which was a positive.
01:03:51Came off the bench today.
01:03:52And he's been out since January 17th from them.
01:03:55I think that was Crystal Palace.
01:03:56And they really have suffered without him haven't they?
01:03:59And I talked about the slide that they've been on.
01:04:01And home used to be a fortress.
01:04:02They'd have really wanted to arrest that after that Liverpool game.
01:04:05Yeah I mean I think he can still be talked about.
01:04:08Xhaka as one of the signings of the season.
01:04:10If not the signing of the season.
01:04:12You know his influence on the team has been there for all to see.
01:04:15And he was always going to be a miss.
01:04:16Not just his football quality.
01:04:19But his leadership as well.
01:04:21And you know if anyone can get them winning again.
01:04:24Xhaka can.
01:04:25And of course.
01:04:27He missed that.
01:04:28It was good but not that good.
01:04:32That's the best one I've done in years.
01:04:35They've done their hard work if you like.
01:04:37In the first half of the season haven't they?
01:04:38Because while we've had a couple of conversations tonight.
01:04:41Can you ask him?
01:04:42About teams that might be on the edge.
01:04:46And who's going to stay up.
01:04:47You know Sunderland have accrued the points.
01:04:49And they won't want to end this way.
01:04:51But they are.
01:04:52No they're safe.
01:04:53They really are safe for Premier League football.
01:04:54Fulham jumped above them today.
01:04:55I think he's had a phenomenal season.
01:04:56Xhaka is a huge part of that of course.
01:04:58And I think the recruitment last summer was brilliant.
01:05:00But he's led the group I think on and off the pitch.
01:05:02He's had a great season.
01:05:03He certainly has.
01:05:05OK.
01:05:05Sadly.
01:05:06After yesterday's incidents of racist abuse.
01:05:09Including Wesley, Fafana and Hannibal.
01:05:12Today.
01:05:12Both Romain Mundell of Sunderland.
01:05:14And Wolves, Tolo, Orokodare.
01:05:16Reported receiving multiple messages of similar abuse.
01:05:19After their games.
01:05:20All four clubs involved in this have made strong statements.
01:05:24Saying that there's no place for racism in football.
01:05:27Or anywhere in society.
01:05:28And they condemn this abhorrent behaviour in the strongest possible terms.
01:05:33Before we go.
01:05:35We're going to bring you all of Saturday's goals.
01:05:43O'Reilly.
01:05:45What a wonderfully clean strike.
01:05:50To Nani.
01:05:52Not away yet.
01:05:53Here's Hall.
01:05:54Hall shot through the crowd.
01:05:56And all the way in.
01:05:57Newcastle at level.
01:05:59Lovely ball for Haaland.
01:06:02Haaland's delivery.
01:06:03O'Reilly's there.
01:06:052-1 City.
01:06:10It's a lovely ball.
01:06:12Caicedo for Pedro Neto.
01:06:14Joao Pedro.
01:06:161-0.
01:06:20Hannibal with a good run.
01:06:22And he's fouled.
01:06:24Fafana.
01:06:25Yellow card I would thought.
01:06:28Lucas Perez.
01:06:30Spotting Cole Palmer just in time.
01:06:33Warrell had to stretch.
01:06:34And it's a red card for Fafana.
01:06:38It's a second yellow.
01:06:40In it goes from Ward.
01:06:42Prowls Fleming in.
01:06:431-1.
01:06:45Great header from Fleming.
01:06:52It's gone for goal.
01:06:53And scores brilliantly.
01:06:56Anton Stack puts Leeds ahead.
01:06:59Can Leeds hold on?
01:07:01To the far post.
01:07:02Konza Rose.
01:07:03It's in!
01:07:06Axton Miller have gone out of jail.
01:07:10Ray-Anne at full speed here.
01:07:12Ray-Anne.
01:07:13Devastating!
01:07:15It's in!
01:07:16It's in!
01:07:16It's in!
01:07:17Due.
01:07:19Towards the near post of Wilson!
01:07:21Save from Petrovic.
01:07:28Perdi Cadiolu.
01:07:29Off the bar.
01:07:31And Gomez finds the net.
01:07:33It's in eventually.
01:07:37And the ball across looking for Welbeck who has a great chance.
01:07:40And how's that?
01:07:41For an opportunistic goal.
01:07:46Okay, let's have a quick look at the table.
01:07:48Arsenal restore their five point lead at the top.
01:07:51But they have played a game more than Chasers Manchester City.
01:07:54Liverpool are now only behind Chelsea and Manchester United on gold.
01:07:57As United will move into fourth if they avoid defeat at Everton on Monday.
01:08:01Fulham jump from 13th into the top half.
01:08:05Forest stay two points clear of the relegation zone after their dramatic loss.
01:08:09Spurs now without a league win in nine.
01:08:12They're just four points away from the bottom three.
01:08:14Palace have some breathing room after their victory over bottom club Wolves.
01:08:19Thank you so much to Shea and Danny.
01:08:22Check a calm.
01:08:23After Arsenal's repeat 4-1 scoreline in the North London derby,
01:08:27it'd be too easy to say it's North London for Eza again.
01:08:30So instead, it's Victor's double that seals the double over Spurs.
01:08:34Good night.
