00:00Hello, little ones. Welcome to Fabulous Fables, where small stories have big lessons.
00:06Today, we're going to tell you a classic story that highlights the importance of honesty, humility, and perseverance.
00:15This tale is called The Fox and the Grapes. Let's begin.
00:19Once upon a time, on a hot summer's day, a fox was roaming aimlessly on a lush hillside.
00:26The birds were chirping, and the leaves were gently rustling in the breeze.
00:31Everything seemed calm and peaceful.
00:34However, the fox was in no mood to bask in the beauty and serenity of his surroundings.
00:39He hadn't eaten anything all day, and he could hear his stomach growling.
00:44If I don't find something to eat soon, I'll starve to death, he thought to himself.
00:50Just then, he spotted an old farmhouse at the foot of the hill.
00:54Next to the house, there appeared to be a grape trellis.
00:59Intrigued, the fox got up and trotted down the hill to take a closer look.
01:03Upon reaching the farmhouse, he looked up the trellis and saw the most beautiful bunch of grapes he had ever
01:10seen.
01:11Better than I thought.
01:12He said, the grapes were ripe and succulent, making his mouth water as he felt thirstier and hungrier.
01:20They were right there, hanging from the vine and ready to be eaten.
01:25He could see blackbirds and tits snacking on other grapes on the trellis.
01:29It was clear the grapes were delicious, as the bird just couldn't get enough of them.
01:34Wow, I must get those juicy grapes for myself.
01:38He decided, they'll surely quench my thirst and fill my hungry belly.
01:44However, there was a problem.
01:46The grapes were hanging so high up on the trellis that they seemed hard to reach.
01:51Undeterred, the fox took a few steps back and jumped up to grab the grapes with his paws.
01:57But he wasn't even close.
01:59I must have taken just short of a run-up.
02:01He reasoned.
02:03Let me try again.
02:04So, he backed up farther, ran faster, and jumped higher.
02:09While in the air, he stretched out his arm as far as he could, but he narrowly missed the grapes.
02:15Feeling discouraged, he half-heartedly tried one last time and came up short again.
02:21He fell to the ground with a loud thud and whimpered in pain.
02:25Now, the fox was tired, hungry, parched, and frustrated.
02:31He took a break under the trellis and looked at the bunch of grapes in disgust.
02:35Such a fool am I!
02:37He muttered to himself,
02:39What was I thinking?
02:41Why did I jump up and down like crazy to reach a bunch of old, horrible, and sour grapes?
02:48I would try again if these grapes were at least ripe and sweet, but they really aren't worth my effort.
02:55He remarked disparagingly.
02:58With an empty and rumbling stomach, the proud fox walked away from the grape trellis and continued roaming the countryside.
03:05The moral of the fox and the grapes is, people often despise things they can't have.
03:12Rise above failure, kiddos.
