00:00Welcome to Fabulous Fables, where little stories have big lessons.
00:04Today, we're going to tell an exciting story about a little girl who encounters a big bad wolf.
00:12Will she survive? Let's find out.
00:15Once upon a time, there was a little country girl who lived in a peaceful village surrounded by a lush
00:22forest.
00:23Everyone called her little red riding hood as she was often seen wearing a bright red hooded cloak.
00:28The cloak was sewn for her by her grandmother, who loved her very dearly.
00:34One sunny morning, little red riding hood's mother packed a basket with freshly baked muffins and some herbal tea.
00:42Sweetheart, go and see how your grandma is doing, for I heard she has fallen ill.
00:48She said to the child, take this to her and promise me you won't talk to strangers.
00:53I promise, mommy, little red said excitedly and skipped off into the woods with her bright red cloak fluttering behind
01:01her.
01:02As she walked along the winding trail, she could hear the delightful sound of birds chirping and see colorful butterflies
01:09dancing around her.
01:10However, unbeknownst to her, a sneaky wolf was hiding behind a tree, watching her with sharp eyes.
01:17The wolf had a great desire to devour the child, but he dared not, as he could hear a few
01:23woodcutters working nearby.
01:25Instead, he stepped out and greeted her in a friendly way.
01:29Good morning, little dearie.
01:31Where are you headed with that lovely basket?
01:34The innocent girl didn't know that he was a dangerous animal, so she wasn't afraid of him.
01:39I'm on my way to see my grandmother, she replied politely.
01:43She isn't feeling well, and I'm bringing her some treats to cheer her up.
01:49That's very kind of you, the wolf said.
01:52Does your grandmother live far off?
01:54Her house is right next to the big oak tree over the hill, the girl answered.
01:59What a tender little creature.
02:00The wolf thought to himself, she'll be more delicious than the old woman.
02:05I have to act craftily to catch them both.
02:09Say, wouldn't a bunch of fresh flowers make your grandma feel even better?
02:14He suggested, there's a beautiful meadow right over there.
02:18That's a great idea, little red said.
02:21Then, she walked over to the meadow and picked a handful of pretty wild flowers.
02:27While she was gathering flowers, the wolf rushed ahead to the grandmother's cottage.
02:31When he arrived, he knocked on the door, tap, tap, tap.
02:37Who's there?
02:38A weak, raspy voice came from inside the house.
02:42It's your granddaughter, little red riding hood, the wolf replied in a fake, high-pitched voice.
02:49Come in, my dear.
02:51The door isn't locked, the grandmother said.
02:54I'm too weak to get out of bed.
02:56As soon as he entered the house, the wolf lunged at the old lady, tied her up, and locked her
03:02in the closet.
03:03Then, he put on her nightgown, sleeping cap, and glasses and hopped into bed.
03:09Disguised as the grandmother, he waited for the little girl to arrive.
03:13Before long, little red riding hood reached the cottage and knocked on the door.
03:18Tap, tap, tap.
03:20It's me, Granny.
03:22She called out.
03:23I brought you muffins and tea.
03:26Come on in.
03:27Dear, the wolf croaked.
03:29The door is open.
03:31Little red stepped inside.
03:32But she noticed something off about her grandmother.
03:35Oh, my goodness, she exclaimed.
03:39What big eyes you have, Granny.
03:42The better to see you with, my child, the wolf replied in his best grandma voice.
03:48And what big ears you have.
03:50The girl continued.
03:51The better to hear you with, my love, the wolf said.
03:55And what big teeth you have.
03:58She gasped and took a step back.
04:00The wolf flashed a toothy grin and growled.
04:04The better to eat you with.
04:05With that, he jumped out of bed and pounced on little red.
04:09The frightened girl fell on the ground and screamed for help at the top of her lungs.
04:15Fortunately, a nearby woodcutter heard her screaming and ran into the cottage.
04:20With a loud shout, he scared the wolf away, sending him scampering into the woods, never to be seen again.
04:27As he was helping little red up, the brave woodsman heard a muffled groan coming from the closet.
04:34He opened the closet and found the grandmother tied up and gagged inside.
04:39Still shaken from her encounter with the nasty wolf, the little girl wrapped her arms around her grandma and burst
04:45into tears.
04:46From that day onward, Little Red Riding Hood never talked to strangers again, no matter how friendly they seemed.
04:53The moral of Little Red Riding Hood is that we should listen to our elders and be careful who we
04:58trust.
04:59Be cautious around strangers, kiddos.
