00:00Yeah, I want to talk about your relationship with your caddy G-Dub.
00:04You know, getting an experienced caddy like him who spent many years caddying for Steve Marino on the PGA Tour
00:10for all of his big time play on the PGA Tour.
00:14And he's got a ton of experience seeing plenty of different golf course, being in a bunch of different situations.
00:20But G-Dub also made an investment in you when you got to the Corn Fairy Tour, finishing second on
00:27the PGA Tour U.
00:28You know, it's not easy for an experienced veteran caddy to come back to the Corn Fairy Tour.
00:34They don't want to go back to the Corn Fairy. And why would they, right?
00:37The difference in pay and just the chance that, hey, what if Jacob doesn't make it through Corn Fairy Tour
00:43in his first year?
00:44Then it's like back to square one.
00:46Just talk about y'all's relationship and him committing to you in a time in which, you know, he's kind
00:53of rolling the dice a little bit.
00:55Yeah, so I think he knew nothing of me when I turned pro.
01:00Obviously, when you're a tour caddy, you're not worried about the college kids.
01:03And when I got out, I was kind of looking around for a caddy and I asked my agent, Jimmy,
01:08who he thought I should have.
01:10And I told him what I wanted. And he's like, hey, man, I think it's very important for you to
01:13have an experienced caddy
01:15because we bounced around the idea of me bringing a guy from my team.
01:18And he's like, I think it's important for you to get an experienced caddy, especially early in your career.
01:22And we're going to be playing some tour events.
01:23His son Gray did not do a good job?
01:25Gray did fine, but Gray knew he wasn't in there for long.
01:29I love Gray.
01:30Yeah, we finished fifth my first week together.
01:33But yeah, GW, he came out blindly and flew to Maine and met me there and caddy for me in
01:40my first Corn Fairy event.
01:41And I didn't play very well. I think I finished 60th or something.
01:44And for whatever reason, he's like, hey, man, let's do it again.
01:51And I think after that summer, we played a couple tour events and I made some cuts and I didn't
01:57play very.
01:58I hit it very poorly off the tee. I wasn't that good at the time.
02:01Yeah. And for whatever reason, he told me in the year, he's like, hey, man, you're going to be really
02:05good at this for a long time.
02:07And like, we're going to do this together and let's get, you know, get ready because next year is going
02:11to be awesome.
02:12And I think that little bit of his experience on the bag with so many good players, he's caddied in
02:20the President's Cup.
02:21He's caddied in all the majors. He's won at the highest level.
02:23So having that little bit of reassurance in my early career was huge for me, knowing that he believes in
02:31me and has seen everything and knows that I can do it.
02:33So, you know, it didn't make me want to work any harder, like any less hard, but it just made
02:38me feel confident.
02:39And him coming back to the Corn Ferry, I mean, he's taking up, if you think about it, the average
02:44person on tour is probably nine million and the average on the Corn Ferry is one million.
02:47So he's taken 10 percent of his regular payment.
02:52So he came down knowing he wasn't going to make any money for a year and kind of took a
02:56gamble on me.
02:56And that meant a lot to me. And then we became such good friends over the course of, you know,
03:02that year on the Corn Ferry.
03:03And I think he was I don't I wouldn't say he was relieved at all when I got my card.
03:08I think he was just genuinely pumped for me and for himself.
03:12And when we got to the tour, we had the same kind of conversation.
03:15He's like, hey, man, you got your tour card, but this is not like this isn't it.
03:20You're going to be amazing at this game.
03:23And it gave me just another boost of confidence.
03:25And it took us it took us a year to kind of get going on tour and get our feet
03:30wet.
03:31But after that, I felt started to feel comfortable.
03:34And, you know, him alongside me leading leading the way, showing me where the range was on this course.
03:38I had no idea. You know, I'm I'm calling him.
03:40Hey, I'm pulling in. Show me where the locker room is.
03:42That's right. Where's where's registration?
03:44Where do I get my yardage book? I get it.
03:47It's speaking of good friends, the Corn Ferry Tour, Chris got her up.
03:50Is that I assume y'all's relationship kind of developed a little bit on the Corn Ferry Tour.
03:56Obviously, he's gotten off to a great start in 2026, winning a couple of times, Sony and Phoenix.
04:03Chris said that when y'all got y'all's cards at the very end of the ceremony, he said he
04:07sprayed champagne in your eye.
04:09Is that true?
04:10Yeah. So we're standing down there doing the card ceremony and someone hands him a bottle first.
04:17And about five seconds later, they hand me a bottle.
04:19So he's already got he's already got the wrapper off and he pops it.
04:23And before I can, I think right when mine popped, it hit me in the eyeball and I just completely
04:29panicked.
04:30I just froze and mine just kind of dribbling out the top and is is spraying me in the face.
04:34So all the pictures I have of the card ceremony, my eyes are bloodshot red.
04:39Oh, it's it's like a bride waiting for their big, big day.
04:42And unfortunately, the pictures didn't quite turn out like she would hope.
04:47Not the best closing ceremonies or ending ceremonies of corn free tour for you.
