00:13I think I find Bryson to be a very compelling character in just the world of golf at large, like
00:22just beyond professional golf, right?
00:24Because like now is YouTube golf is arguably his greatest and most influential space.
00:29And a lot of people are watching this episode on YouTube right now that probably come from a Bryson channel
00:36or Bryson content.
00:37And it's like everything that he does sort of bleeds into the way you consume golf on this platform, which
00:43is really interesting.
00:44I think that there is, I think the, I want to say miscalculation, but I think that the estimation he
00:50has of his own sort of worth and influence is he's not estimating it in the correct space, right?
00:58Like, so if you are going to leave the PGA tour, if you're going to burn bridges on the way
01:04out, if you're going to sue that tour, like have your name on a lawsuit against that tour, it doesn't
01:10make a ton of sense then to.
01:13The tour is like, Hey, we want you to come back and play.
01:15And by the way, and by the way, he could have.
01:18And in February, he could, he could have put, I mean, think about that.
01:22Like as, as a, a listed, someone who sued the tour, they said, here you go.
01:26Here's your chance.
01:27We're going to give you a little one month window here.
01:29Brooks is coming back.
01:31John Rahm can come back.
01:32Cam Smith can come back.
01:33You know, I don't know.
01:34You guys figure out your whole contract out with live Brooks that out on his own.
01:38If you want to, you can.
01:39And he turned that down.
01:41And I think it's, and it mirrors some of the rumors we've heard about his, his negotiation.
01:46And the leverage he thought he had, and then ultimately lost because Piff wasn't even courting, you know, a re
01:52-up with the league, but you know, that's not talked enough enough.
01:55I mean, I'm telling you, man, that the numbers that I heard that were being floated around about what, first
02:02off, what he was trying to get, which the numbers that were being quoted were $500 million is what he
02:08was trying to get from the Saudis and the PIF in this.
02:11And they said no.
02:13And then they go back and they eventually had a number.
02:16And then not too long after that, they were out.
02:19And so we're talking about Rahm and this Bryson.
02:22He never got that second contract, man.
02:24Not to say this guy's loaded.
02:26He's made a lot of money.
02:27But what they've even paid it out.
02:30You know what I mean?
02:30Like, I mean, I don't, you know, again, what we're now guessing, like, which courts are these cases being tried
02:36in and what do those look like?
02:38And how do you file for bankruptcy?
02:39All of this is like, are you going to go to Saudi Arabia and show up on the courthouse steps
02:46and say, give me my money?
02:49I need my $500 million.
02:50But I think for Bryson, it's like, of course, there are still a ton of PGA Tour fans who would
02:57love to see Bryson competing on the PGA Tour, without a doubt.
03:00But I think when you're talking about the way he wants to come back into it, it's never going to
03:07happen that way for him.
03:08Because of, you know, kind of what you're saying, his estimation of his value.
03:12It is large, and it's large in the game of golf.
03:14But it's, you know, I think that's why everyone's kind of okay with him saying, okay, if Liv doesn't work,
03:21I might not play the PGA Tour.
03:24Like, I don't know how that looks like for major qualification.
03:26You know, obviously, the U.S. opens a 10-year deal.
03:30Well, yeah, I mean, he's through 2029 for the majors, man.
03:36Like, he's still in a really good spot there.
03:39He's 34 for U.S. Open, right?
03:41Because 10 years for the U.S. Open, yeah.
03:43You're still so heavily reliant on how you play in the majors to keep yourself in that top 50 past
03:48that 2029, right?
03:51Yeah, it didn't go well for three.
03:53But he was looking pretty good there for the Open there for a minute.
03:56Well, and that's exactly right, but I'm saying, like, if you are, not to belittle his Open performance,
04:02and it's two years in a row, I mean, where he was left for dead in the first round and
04:06then came back in almost, you know,
04:08over three days, you know, would have won the tournament.
04:09But I think that if you are going to bank on that and if that's your stated goal is, like,
04:15effectively play the majors to get the visibility for whatever it is, your sponsors, you know, your Liv team,
04:22if that still exists, then you've got to play well enough to make the weekend and all of those
04:27and hopefully contend to keep staying in the mix and getting world ranking points and things like that.
04:32And then you go back and do your YouTube projects and play with everyone else and people still find you
04:36compelling.
04:36Or you can play DB World's War, guys.
04:39Which he doesn't need to do.
04:40I would just say that all the players in that league, they need a star to be able to lift
04:46up the league.
04:47You know, if any of these stars start to jump, we've already had Brooks Kepka leave.

04:53If Jon Rahm decides to leave, like, they have to have Bryson in order for this thing to run.
05:00And I think most people, and listen, every time Bryson is with the media, giving quotes, watching him play,
