00:00there's been enough good golf for me to see that Scotty Sheffert can put 72
00:05holes together this week.
00:06I think it's going to come down a little bit more to his mental side of the
00:10game. I think he's been, uh, overly dramatic at times,
00:16which he's just been frustrated. So I think a week like this, you know,
00:21when you could have mud balls, you could get some gusty winds.
00:24I think just kind of reeling back in. It's like,
00:26I've won here multiple times. I've done it coming from behind.
00:29I've done it, you know, being on top the whole day,
00:32just reminding himself that, Hey, just stay in it. Just keep giving up,
00:37give yourself a chance going into the back nine. And, um,
00:40I think that that's going to have to be his goal.
00:42Yeah. And I think the thing that the curiosity that I have just from a fan
00:46perspective is, you know, is there in the same way that he's talking about, Hey,
00:49I'm not really worried about my first round scoring average because I led in
00:54every round last year on tour, you know, that, that do we get, is this,
00:58is the iron play just a blip in the radar? It's just,
01:01it's just something that's, that's, you know, Hey,
01:03I'm a little off happens to everybody and I should get right back to where I
01:07need to be and have been when I've won this tournament twice in the last three
01:11years. Or is it something where there is something mechanical or technical
01:15going on there?
01:15I know we talked about this earlier in the year with Ludwig Ober,
01:18where, you know,
01:19you're trying to figure out if it's a swing thing of something to be corrected.
01:22And then maybe it's just a slight equipment tweak that you just get that
01:26little small thing. Right. And then boom, there he is, you know,
01:29in contention at Bay Hill and everything's fine. Again, it's,
01:32it's trying to figure out what that piece is. And you don't know if you see
01:35anything specific there.
01:37I'm just kind of looking at just some,
01:38some advanced data with Scotty, like he's 117 from one 25 to one 50.
01:44Wow. To me, he's always like one 25 to one 50.
01:47I think that's his like sweet spot or really one 25 to one 75.
01:51I can look at that statistic too. But he's, you know, fairly,
01:56you know, pretty far down. It's like, he's,
01:58you're going to have to hit like pitching wedges, nine irons,
02:00eight irons really well this week. So that's obviously a concerning stats.
02:04Let me look at one 50 to one 75 to actually that's,
02:10that's hard. That's green percentage. I want to see strokes gained.
02:14I don't want green. All right, keep going. Let me look at this thing.
02:17Well, yeah. I mean, and, and, and just to continue on Scotty,
02:19before we move over to Rory, I mean, I think that, that it's, you know,
02:23the iconic highlight on, I think it was four year, a couple of years ago,
02:26he holes out from the fairway with the wedge in hand,
02:29like that sort of kickstarts that comeback. I mean, it, it, it's wondering,
02:33it's not that I wonder whether or not he can do it. I know he can do it.
02:37It's just that in, in his current form and he,
02:39and he said he left,
02:40whether he was just kind of giving a passing comment to a reporter on the
02:43way out at Bay Hill or whether he really believed it.
02:46He said there was enough he saw on Sunday to make him feel confident about
02:50what he was bringing into this week. So, you know,
02:52just time will tell as to whether that actually holds.
02:55And overall ball strike and still says he's fifth. So it's pump the brakes here.
03:00We are knee jerking a little too quick.
