00:00This is a pot pie for the dumpling lovers, because who doesn't love the idea of curling
00:03up with a hot pan of dumpling flavors covered in a buttery, flaky crust? This recipe starts like
00:08any good pot pie with puff pastry that gets rolled out, cut, and then chills in your freezer. Then
00:13we're making the sauce with mirin, chicken broth, and soy sauce, plus a little cornstarch as our
00:17thickener. In a cast iron or any oven-safe pan, sear shiitakes and brown your ground pork. Then
00:22we're packing in tons of cabbage, ginger, garlic, crushed red pepper, and white pepper for heat.
00:27Let the cabbage wilt and all those flavors will come together. Pour back in that sauce
00:30and simmer and add in scallions and those mushrooms. Cover the puff pastry with an egg wash and black
00:35sesame seeds on top and bake until the crust is done. It's an upgrade to a pot pie like
00:39you've never seen before. Delicious, perfect. It tastes exactly like you think it would when
00:43someone says a gyoza pot pie. What's not to love?
