04:591 John is one of the most powerful books
05:00in all the Bible.
05:03It is quite amazing what the Apostle John wrote
05:06in this book.
05:08And, of course, the Gospel of John is unparalleled.
05:11That thing is so great.
05:14It's freaky.
05:16But 1 John is also spectacular.
05:19And I wanted to go to chapter 3
05:21and share a couple of important thoughts with you.
05:25Really important.
05:26John says this.
05:29Behold what manner of love
05:32the Father has
05:35bestowed
05:37on us.
05:38The Greek word for love there,
05:40as you well know, is agape.
05:44Agape is
05:47unconditional, divine
05:48love.
05:49That means that
05:50no matter what you do or say today,
05:55you will be loved the same
05:58as if you didn't do or say it.
06:02Let's say you do something spectacular today.
06:05Something great.
06:07You did something for someone else.
06:09You bless them in Jesus' name.
06:12Okay.
06:13You do get a reward for that in heaven.
06:16You're rewarded for everything you do.
06:19Even little things,
06:21such as
06:21giving somebody a cup of cold water
06:24in the name of Jesus.
06:25But
06:26it does not
06:27improve
06:29the love of God
06:30toward you.
06:32If you do good things,
06:33great things
06:34for God,
06:36He does not love you
06:37anymore.
06:39If you do
06:40nasty things,
06:43if you
06:44let God have it
06:46and tell Him to go
06:47screw Himself
06:48and you
06:49curse Him out
06:51and you
06:52sin horribly,
06:54the same principle
06:56applies.

06:58You are not
06:59loved

07:23King James Bible.
07:24The Greek word for
07:26sons there is
07:26technon.
07:28Technon means
07:29children of God.
07:32Children.
07:34We are called
07:36those of us who
07:38received Christ as
07:39Lord and Savior
07:39and became born
07:41again.
07:42not the ones
07:43who received Christ
07:44as Lord and Savior.
07:45That doesn't mean
07:46you're saved.
07:47You must be
07:48born again.
07:50John chapter 3,
07:51that's an exact
07:51quote of Jesus.
07:53The Greek phrase
07:54gneonothon
07:55means to be
07:56generated or
07:56born from above.
07:57It's a spiritual
07:58event
07:59that you have
08:02so that you
08:02know that you
08:03are a child
08:04of God
08:04as the Spirit
08:05witnesses
08:07to your spirit

25:17but hang
25:18on, don't
25:19worry about

25:21commits
25:22sin
25:23transgresses
25:24the law.
25:27for sin
25:28is the
25:29transgression
25:29of the
25:30law.
25:31Now this

25:33commits
25:33is the

25:35poieo,
25:36and it's
25:37in the
25:38present
25:39continuous
25:39tense,
25:41and what
25:42you're talking
25:42about there
25:43is someone
25:43who repetitively,
25:45regularly,
25:48constantly,
25:49whatever it
25:49is, commits
25:51sin.

25:53Now, you're a
25:55born-again
25:55Christian, and you
25:56are a child
25:57of God, and
25:58that does
25:58not represent

26:07to overcome

26:09do commit,

26:16We're praying
26:16to God
26:17for the
26:17strength to
26:18conquer it.
26:21But sinners
26:22do not do

26:25enjoyed committing
26:26certain types
26:27of sins,
26:27and I
26:27kept committing
26:29them over
26:29and over
26:30again.

26:31I was talking

26:32frequently,
26:34continuously,
26:35repetitively
26:35commits sin
26:39is transgressing
26:40the law.
26:41For sin is
