03:00Hard to call Christianity
03:04Hey, good morning, friends.
03:20Hey, this is Brother Mike.
03:22Welcome to my Sunday morning podcast.
03:24Welcome to my shut-ins.
03:26May God bless you.
03:27Love seeing you.
03:29Sorry about being late today.
03:30My computer had some kind of a seizure.
03:35I barely got the thing rebooted and restarted.
03:38Very strange.
03:41I think I'll go down and buy a new computer today.
03:43That'd probably be a good idea.
03:46Sorry about that.
03:50A couple of quick announcements.
03:52Next Friday is the healing service.
03:56And I'm probably going to need to attend because my voice is going out.
04:06My voice is about, and I'm in trouble.
04:09Friday and Saturday, we're having a special healing seminar.
04:20We've had so many people, excuse me, register for the service.
04:27It's really going to be exciting.
04:32It looks like it's going to be a repeat for our, excuse me, revival services.
04:38And if I completely lose my voice during this broadcast, don't worry about it.
04:43I'll just keep going.
04:45Most of you are lip readers.
04:51Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights, we have live services at the Deliverance Center.
04:57We're downtown on 15th Avenue, just south of Osborne Road.
05:01It's the red brick building on the west side of the road.
05:06Also, we have a counseling center.
05:08If you need to see a private counselor, you're certainly welcome to call 602-636-5800.
05:15And I'll get you on the schedule ASAP.
05:18We even have people coming in today for counseling services.
05:21Please remember our worship service today.
05:23Three o'clock Pacific time.
05:25Three o'clock Arizona time.
05:26Man, that thing is the bomb.
05:29Starts at three o'clock this afternoon.
05:33And we'll have different counseling appointments throughout the day.
05:39Quick, quick story.
05:42Years ago when I went to college, I basically knew what I wanted to do.
05:50Most people that go to college don't know what they want to do.
05:52They kind of work it out during their freshman, sophomore years.
05:55I kind of knew what I wanted to do.
05:59I wanted to get into some kind of counseling and psychology area.
06:03I just kind of had natural affinity to it.
06:07And I was really good with people.
06:10So, um, I just kind of drifted that way.
06:17Well, during my bachelor's and master's degree programs, they had a class called practicum.
06:23And that was a class where you found your, you found a client and then you went to the recording studio at the college and you recorded the therapy session.
06:34And then it was played back during class and everybody would critique it, what you did right, what you did wrong, the different techniques you used.
06:46And all that stuff was evaluated.
06:50Well, in my, uh, working with my master's degree in my practicum class, I was taking the class with my ex-wife, my first wife.
07:00And, uh, how many wives have I had?
07:04Well, um, I don't remember, but she was the first one and she was also working on her master's degree in counseling as I was.
07:12And, uh, she had a long career as a registered nurse and then she retired working as a school counselor for Camelback High School here in Phoenix.
07:28And, uh, I went, uh, different direction with my counseling background.
07:32I went into the psychology and counseling and rehabilitation fields.
07:36And so we would learn by watching these practicums, um, your counseling techniques.
07:46And for some reason, I noticed this when I was in class, I was better than everybody else.
07:51I saw stuff everybody, nobody else saw.
07:55Uh, I had more insight for some reason, kind of a natural.
08:00I was kind of a natural at it.
08:02I was better than anybody else in my, in the grad school class.
08:06So, obviously, I carried that into my counseling career.
08:12But when I started reading the Word of God and I started reading about how Jesus did his counseling sessions, they were more than fascinating.
08:24They were absolutely fantastic.
08:26And I noticed that sometimes Jesus was very soft and loving with some people.
08:36And then I noticed he flipped and he was very strong and hard on others.
08:45It's really kind of interesting.
08:47If you look at John chapter 4, everybody knows this story about the woman at the well.
08:57And, uh, here was a woman who had grown up with nothing but rejection and bad men her entire life.
09:09She had low self-esteem, low self-concept.
09:13She had been married five times and, um, she was completely shot.
09:18But the guy she was living with at the time Jesus met her, he wouldn't even marry her.
09:26They were just living together.
09:28So, Jesus knew this woman had all kinds of painful soul wounds.
09:33And she was a very hurt person.
09:36And so, he was very gentle with her because he wanted to get her to respond positively to the Word of God.
09:50And he would say things like, if you knew, um, the gift of God and who it is that's speaking to you,
10:00you would ask him, and he would give you living water.
10:11And that statement kind of got her curiosity up.
10:13So, Jesus drew her in.
10:15But it was very gentle.
10:17You know, he was, he was, uh, he could see that she was an intelligent person.
10:21But she had all kinds of bad breaks in life.
10:25And the devil had sent her one bad man after the other.
10:30And, um, I've been in marriage counseling for, I don't know how many years.
10:35Most marriages are setups.
10:40They're plants.
10:42The devil is the number one matchmaker on the planet Earth.
10:45And he always sends someone a bad relationship.
10:54And as soon as you get done with that relationship, he's got another one coming in.
10:58He sets you up.
11:00It's one bad man and one bad woman after the other.
11:04It's all plotted out, all planned out.
11:07So that when you're older, you've got all these broken relationships.
11:11You've got rejection demons on steroids.
11:13And you are a miserable, broken, sick human being.
11:18And that's what this woman was.
11:21Miserable, broken, and sick.
11:23So Jesus said, talk to her about living water.
11:29Notice he didn't condemn her of her sin.
11:32He just made her, he made her aware that he was aware of it.
11:36That's interesting.
11:37Jesus said, look, why don't you go get your husband?
11:43And I'll tell you more about this living water since you asked about it.
11:48Jesus said, well, I don't have a husband.
11:50And then Jesus, having the gift of knowledge at maximum capacity, said to her, yeah, I know you've had five husbands.
11:59Dude you're living with now is not your husband.
12:01You're living in adultery over and over again.
12:10And he said it gently, you know, as a counselor and as a person, you know, many times it's not what you say to somebody, it's how you say it.
12:22How you say it.
12:25Jesus said some strong things to her, but it was how he said it.
12:31And she peaked, he saw she was intelligent, so he said things that would peak her intellect, and it did.
12:41She said, you know, this worshiping thing has always bothered me.
12:46The Jews want to worship in Jerusalem.
12:48We want to worship here at Mount Gerizim.
12:52What about this and that?
12:54And Jesus said, you're both wrong.
12:56God is a spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
13:05And the Father seeks people to worship him that way.
13:10The day is coming.
13:11You won't be worshiping on this mountain.
13:13You won't be worshiping in Jerusalem.
13:15It'll all be gone.
13:16Well, not long after that, Jesus is talking to a woman in a similar condition.
13:29I miss a woman's life.
13:31It's broken.
13:33She gets caught having intercourse with a guy.
13:36Everybody pitches a fit over.
13:38They drag her out of bed.
13:39The guy they let go, of course, prejudice.
13:46They drag her down the street and throw her on the ground in front of Jesus.
13:50And they did it deliberately.
13:54Not because they wanted her to be condemned, but because they wanted to catch him.
14:00The woman was a prop.
14:01And then you know the story.
14:06He that is without you, without sin among you, cast the first throw.
14:09You throw first.
14:12And then at the end of that, he says, woman, where are your accusers?
14:18Has nobody condemned you?
14:20Greek word katakrino ultimately judged you.
14:25Has no one ultimately judged you?
14:28She said, no one, Lord.
14:31Then Jesus said, well, I am not going to ultimately judge you, condemn you, katakrino.
14:39Go and sin no more.
14:43Now, here you see Jesus, again, using his counseling skills, running at the maximum capacity.
14:51Going soft on somebody.
14:55Just like the woman at the well.
14:57The woman caught in adultery.
14:59Jesus was very gentle with them.
15:01Because he saw through them.
15:03And saw they were so wounded and hurt.
15:07And their lives were so exhausting.
15:10The devil had beaten the living heck out of them.
15:14And they were in a miserable condition.
15:18Miserable.
15:20Hurting like you can't believe.
15:21And then, right after that, Jesus is teaching.
15:31And the Pharisees attacked him.
15:34Right after the woman caught in adultery.
15:39He's telling them about, I am the light of the world.
15:45They said, hey, wait a minute.
15:46You're a fraud.
15:47You're a phony.
15:48You're a false prophet.
15:48You're fake.
15:50You're bearing record of yourself.
15:51So, then, Jesus goes on to explain what bearing record means.
15:56And the father was bearing record of him.
15:59Remember that?
16:00Sure you do.
16:01You've read this story.
16:01And Jesus talked about judgment and a judgment to come and how he judges people, how father judges them, how he bears witness, how father bears witness.
16:16He explains all this thing to the Pharisees.
16:19They said to Jesus, wait a minute here.
16:24What do you mean your father?
16:25Where's your father?
16:28What are you talking about?
16:30Your father's dad, Joseph.
16:32Kicked the bucket years ago.
16:35And Jesus said, you don't know me and you don't know my father.
16:40If you'd known me, you would have known him.
16:46I'm a reflection of him.
16:49See, as you and I are to be reflections of Christ, Jesus was a reflection of father.
17:00Jesus went into the temple.
17:02He went into the treasury and was teaching.
17:05Okay.
17:06Intercession, all kinds of strange doctrine.
17:08Some old woman comes in and puts in two mites into the treasury.
17:12Boop, boop.
17:13You know.
17:13That would have been technically less than a penny in our money.
17:18Less than a penny.
17:20Pennies are so useless in our society.
17:23The federal government is going to stop making them.
17:25They're so useless.
17:27But she put in less than two pennies.
17:30Less than a penny.
17:33And Jesus said something mind-boggling.
17:35He said, you see all these Pharisees coming in and Sadducees dumping money into the treasury
17:46and then looking around to see who's looking at them.
17:48See that?
17:49They have actually donated less to God than this widow over here that donated less than two pennies.
17:57Oh, man.
18:05They hit the roof.
18:09Jesus, I'm going my way.
18:11And you will seek me and die in your sins.
18:16For where I'm going, you cannot come.
18:19And the Jews go, what are you, crazy?
18:25You're nuts.
18:25What are you, going to kill yourself?
18:27You're going to commit suicide?
18:31Jesus said, where I'm going, you can't come.
18:34You are from beneath.
18:41I am from above.
18:46You are part of this world.
18:49I am not of this world.
18:54Now they're looking at him like they've seen a ghost.
18:57He can't believe this.
19:00Then he says something that they understood and really angered them.
19:04I say to you that you will die in your sins if you do not believe I am.
19:12I am, as you know, is the Greek phrase egoimi.
19:18And it's the equivalent of the Hebrew phrase haya, hachiraya,
19:23which means I am that I am.
19:27That's what God called himself to Moses in Exodus.
19:33Egoimi.
19:34I am.
19:36Now they're, I mean, their skin's coming off.
19:43We're going to die in our sins.
19:45You got to be kidding me.
19:50You got to be kidding me.
19:52He said, that's right.
19:58If you die in your sins, you know what happens to you.
20:01See, the Pharisees believed in the afterlife and they believed in heaven and hell.
20:07They believed in angels.
20:08They believed in angels.
20:09They believed in demons.
20:10They believed in a spirit world.
20:13Sadducees did not.
20:14And those two groups were always button heads fighting over doctrine.
20:20The Pharisees, before Jesus was executed, was Christ's number one enemy.
20:31After the resurrection, the Sadducees were his number one enemy.
20:38Because they did not believe in the spirit world or heaven or hell.
20:46They didn't believe there were any demons.
20:48There's no angels.
20:49There's nothing.
20:49There's nothing.
20:50There's nothing out there.
20:56And then Jesus says something that's like scary here.
21:01He says,
21:03You are of your father the devil.
21:08And the works of your father you will do.
21:15He was a murderer and a liar from the beginning.
21:17He does not abide in truth.
21:21There is no truth in him.
21:27He's like you.
21:29You're a pathological liar.
21:32You guys lie all the time.
21:34You're fakes and you're phonies.
21:36Wow.
21:38You can tell that the woman at the well and the woman caught in adultery,
21:42they're not around anymore.
21:44This is a different kind of Jesus here.
21:47This is a tough one.
21:54But you see the incredible counseling skills.
21:58You know, I can only look at everything from my perspective.
22:02Obviously, everybody does that.
22:03But, you know, my background in counseling and psychology is so I kind of read the word and I see kind of little pieces of that in the word.
22:15So I kind of look at people because I'm in the people business.
22:19I've never been in any other business longer than a year in my life.
22:28I drove a city bus for the city of Wichita, Kansas for a year.
22:36You know, I moved furniture for a year when I was in college.
22:43I did all kinds of jobs that required a strong back and a weak mind.
22:49And I was very good at it.
22:51I had a weak mind and a strong back, so I fit right in with those kind of jobs.
22:57Well, these guys hit the ceiling.
23:05The hatred for Christ was so bad, it was hard to describe.
23:17They couldn't just murder him outright in public.
23:19They couldn't do that because A, the people loved him.
23:23And B, if the Romans found out about it, they'd pitch a fit.
23:27You weren't allowed to go around killing people.
23:29That was the Romans' job.
23:35They went around killing people.
23:39That was their job.
23:40You weren't allowed to take over their job.
23:44And so, as you all know, they set him up.
23:48They got an infiltrator.
23:50Somebody betrayed him.
23:52A dear friend of his betrayed him.
23:54And in your Christian walk, always remember that 90% of the people that betray you were your friends at one time.
24:0790% of the people that betray you used to be in your family, used to be your friend, used to be partners in ministry.
24:27I mean, used to be friends with your family.
24:29I mean, it goes on and on.
24:37But somebody used to love or care for, in the long run, will betray you beyond someone you casually know.
24:50That's exactly what happened to Jesus.
24:52Judas was called my old familiar friend.
25:02When you're witnessing and ministering to people, you do it just the way Jesus did.
25:06But some people you're very firm with.
25:11And some people you're very gentle with.
25:16Last Thursday, I had two counseling appointments.
25:18One of them, I was very gentle with.
25:23She got a wonderful deliverance.
25:25The other one, I was very hard on her.
25:31She got a wonderful deliverance.
25:32I ended up at the same point, by the grace of God, total victory and two women who were delivered from demons and soul wounds.
25:45They were both giddy and happy when they left the office.
25:51But I took two different routes, you know.
25:58If you leave Phoenix, you can get to Prescott.
26:01You can go up I-17.
26:04Or you can go through Wickenburg.
26:06The end result is, you're in Prescott.
26:14I did that Thursday.
26:16I took two different routes.
26:19Gentle.
26:23Tough.
26:27Careful.
26:29Aggressive.
26:30When I'm in my aggressive mode, I'm staring at the person differently.
26:43They notice how I'm looking at them.
26:46And they kind of get scared.
26:49Well, I know it's not them getting scared.
26:52It's the demons in them that are starting to get scared because I'm honing in on them.
27:01They're about to get their faces kicked in.
27:02They're not too happy.
27:06Demons are like people.
27:08They don't like to get their face kicked in.
27:12They're all tough.
27:16You notice that Jesus was very hard on demons.
27:19Ooh.
27:22And very gentle with people who came for mercy.
27:30He's very hard on the Pharisees who were in rebellion, which is a sin of witchcraft.
27:38But he was very hard on the demons.
27:44And very gentle with people that were hurting and wounded.
27:55He had the ability to switch based on his discernment.
28:01Looking for the best outcome.
28:02The demons wanted him to be gentle with them.
28:08So they would try to buddy up to him.
28:12We know who you are.
28:13You're the Holy Son of God.
28:14You're fantastic.
28:15You're the greatest things that sliced bread.
28:17Oh, my God.
28:18You're glorious.
28:20You're incredible.
28:21And Jesus' response to them, very stern.
28:26Fumao.
28:26Fumao was the Greek word it means.
28:29Shut up.
28:33Shut up.
28:40With the dying leper.
28:46Very gentle.
28:48With the Pharisees, you are of your father, the devil.
28:59Whoa.
29:01I thought Jesus was the Prince of Peace.
29:04You thought wrong, friend.
29:08Jesus said, I didn't come to bring peace.
29:11I came to bring a sword.
29:13See that?
29:15He used his sword to separate between the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light.
29:22He was very nasty with the devil.
29:31Peter used to have a second soul, a dipsychus.
29:33I taught on it a couple Fridays ago.
29:35If you didn't catch that teaching on dipsychus, boy, you need to see that.
29:41So, it explains dissociative identity disorder and schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder.
29:49It explains all that.
29:52Multiple personality disorders, we used to call it.
29:56A dipsychus, a fake soul.
29:58Explained all that a couple weeks ago, but.
30:04Peter used to have a fake soul.
30:06And one day he got on Jesus, got on his case.
30:08You're not going to die.
30:11You're not leaving us.
30:12That's not going to happen.
30:14And Jesus, it says, turns, turns around.
30:18Physically.
30:18That's what it says in the Greek.
30:22He said, get behind me, Satan.
30:23He's looking right at Peter.
30:27He's talking to Satan.
30:32That's weird.
30:33No, it isn't.
30:34No, it isn't.
30:38You can be talking to somebody one minute, and the next minute, another person takes over.
30:45Right in front of your eyes.
30:48You're like in a state of shock.
30:51Who's that person?
30:52Well, Jesus saw the difference.
30:57He had discernment running at maximum capacity.
30:59He saw Peter, and he saw his fake soul, the demons, inside his brain, talking to him.
31:06Those were actually demons talking to him, using Peter as a channel.
31:11He was channeling, believe it or not.
31:14Yeah, we have a lot of people in the United States who are, well, I would call them necromancers, but society calls them medians.
31:24And again, I apologize for my voice.
31:27And they channel information from the dark side, from dead people on the other side, to the person that's living.
31:38Of course, they're not real dead people.
31:39Those are demons impersonating their dead relatives.
31:42You can't communicate with anyone who's died, in heaven or in hell.
31:48You can't do it.
31:49They're gone.
31:50When you die, if you go to hell, you cannot communicate with any of your relatives that are alive on earth.
32:00Rich man and Lazarus.
32:02If you die and you go to heaven, you cannot communicate with any of your children or your loved ones here on earth that are living.
32:11You cannot do that.
32:11Once you transverse over from the natural world to the spirit world, you're gone forever.
32:22You're not coming back.
32:24If you're a born-again Christian, obviously, you get resurrected at the rapture.
32:30And then you come back to earth with Christ as a second coming.
32:35That's true.
32:36But before then, you don't know heads from tails what's going on down here on this earth.
32:44You don't know what happened to your kids.
32:45You don't want to happen to your church.
32:48You know nothing.
32:50Nothing.
32:51And no medium can channel you to get that information.
32:57But Peter was channeling Satan.
32:59The devil was talking right out of his mouth.
33:02Some demon was telling Jesus he wasn't going to go to the cross.
33:06He wasn't going to die and he wasn't going to leave.
33:07And Jesus was hard on him.
33:16Sometimes he was soft.
33:19Sometimes he was hard.
33:22Sometimes he fought.
33:26Sometimes he relaxed.
33:29Some people got it right in the face.
33:35Other people got a hug.
33:38The dying leper came to him and said,
33:40Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.
33:42He said, I want to.
33:43And he reached out and touched him.
33:46I want to.
33:47Be clean.
33:48Very loving.
33:50Very gentle.
33:52Wasn't hard on him.
33:56No.
33:57Never said a negative thing to him.
33:59You know how you got leprosy.
34:01You shouldn't have been hanging around that place where you picked up those germs.
34:07You should have got it treated right away.
34:08You should have got.
34:09He didn't do that.
34:12Where are your, where are your accusers, woman?
34:15Well, they're not here, Lord.
34:18Jesus said, nobody's condemning you.
34:20Okay.
34:21I'm not going to condemn you either.
34:24Sometimes he's hard.
34:26You will die in your sins.
34:29If you don't believe, I am.
34:33And sometimes he was soft.
34:41And that's how you're going to be in your ministry.
34:42You have to learn these counseling techniques.
34:47If you do learn them, you can save your marriage.
34:52You can save your job.
34:54You can save your next evaluation at work.
34:57If you learn what I'm teaching you today, you're going to be a completely changed person.
35:09Completely changed.
35:14Sometimes you're hard.
35:15Sometimes you're soft.
35:25I love you.
35:26See you next time.
35:28See you next time.
