00:00Just describe what you felt walking with that group,
00:04the atmosphere that you felt out there today, TPC Sawgrass.
00:07Well, Matt talked about at the end of the round today,
00:09just how him and Cam are good friends being on the same team,
00:13the same TGL team, New York golf club, which by the way,
00:17did not make the playoffs.
00:18So we really need to investigate what happened there.
00:21We need to, we need to make a managerial change.
00:23Nor did the bay and nor did the bay.
00:25Tough, tough look for the bay.
00:27I think you have to start looking at the managers and all this.
00:29And reassessing heading into the off season.
00:33But these two, I could tell, you know,
00:36throughout the day that they were feeding off each other.
00:39It was a comfortable pairing.
00:40Fitzy looked just right from the get go,
00:42executing at an extremely high level,
00:44hit every single shot exactly how he was supposed to outside of a wedge shot
00:49on number seven and holding some putts.
00:52And then Cam, you know, it was a lot of the same with Cam.
00:55You know, he was missing fairways on par fives.
00:57He was hitting some bad wedge shots.
00:59It's he, he made a good putt at the first hole, but really just felt like,
01:04man, this is going to be the thing again with Cam is that it was going to,
01:07it was going to be all looks great on paper,
01:09but just was a couple good wet shots or,
01:13or good drives at the right time away from,
01:16from winning a big event.
01:18The shot that I felt like kind of turned Cam's day around was the wet shot he
01:22had at the seventh hole.
01:24He had one 35, I think,
01:27and it was a back,
01:28right pin and really going back to Bay Hill on Sunday where he drove it on a
01:35string.
01:35One of the best driving rounds I've ever witnessed,
01:37struggled to get anything inside of 10 feet.
01:40Now the greens are really firm.
01:41There was a little bit of wind.
01:42It wasn't necessarily easy,
01:44but what I noticed with Cam was that it seemed like he always hit the shorter
01:49club and hitting it hard.
01:51And that works oftentimes if,
01:53if you have front flag sticks,
01:55a firm greens downwind,
01:57all that's good.
01:58But when you start having crosswinds or into the wind,
02:01you're better off probably taking more club and,
02:04and taking a little spin off the golf balls.
02:06You know,
02:06Scotty Shefford is the best at doing this.
02:08So the one time that Cam was in between clubs was on that seventh hole.
02:13And finally he took one more club and hit a bit of a,
02:17you know,
02:17three quarter shot with it.
02:18And throughout the day,
02:20I started seeing his wedge game evolve a little bit more into that versus the
02:24prior.
02:25He had a really good wet shot at the 15th hole.
02:28You know,
02:28he hit this monster drive down at three 45.
02:30And then I thought he was going to hit lob wedge,
02:33ended up hitting a Sam wedge and started hitting it pin high and controlling his
02:37golf ball a little bit better.
02:39So that was the one I felt like change that Cam made throughout the round.
02:45Cause he was finding fairways,
02:46but just not really making the birdies and just really impressed with how he was
02:52able to,
02:52to kind of manage that adjustment in his game.
02:55I love that.
02:56You mentioned that in the broadcast,
02:57because I think it's,
02:59it's both an insight into the development of his game and also a great
03:02instructive sort of tool for any amateur watching where,
03:05Hey,
03:05most of the time,
03:07instead of trying to hammer some club that you're going to,
03:09you know,
03:09hit up in the air,
03:10you're going to hit it left or right,
03:11taking more club and trying to get something that's more smooth,
03:14more controlled,
03:14flight it a little bit better is usually going to be the better option.
03:17And I,
03:18you know,
03:18we know,
03:18okay.
03:19Camps,
03:19Cam Young has bombed it forever.
03:21Since he arrived on tour,
03:22we now have the track record.
03:24Now the putting being a lot better.
03:25That was the key this week.
03:26To be continued.
