00:00Preparations are in progress as Trinidad and Tobago's men's team will be taking part in a regional 40 tournament which
00:06bowls off next month.
00:07But part of the training sessions are a couple of female players who are aiming to further develop their skills.
00:13They are Amelia Khan and Delianis Espinoza, both of whom are being closely monitored by TNT men's coach Riyad Emrit.
00:19I've been doing some remedial work with Amelia. She had an issue with bowling action and it's kind of sorted
00:27out.
00:27But now she has to do official testing. But we have all around the group. We want them to play
00:32against the guys who are a lot better than the women at this level.
00:39So if we could get them doing well against the guys when they go to the women's group, it will
00:44be a lot easier for them.
00:48Espinoza, she's now starting. She's now bowling with the guys. It's the same thing.
00:52We want them to get to a level when they get to the women's team, the national team.
00:57They are ready and they are above the normal players when they get there.
01:02Khan, who represented the Red Force Divas at regional level, is pleased to be training with quality players.
01:07After all, her aim is to improve as a player and reach as far as possible in the sport.
01:12So far I've been pleased with the action because it has been coming along.
01:16But some days it could be bad, but most of the times it's good, I would say.
01:21But it's really going good. It also builds confidence and it's a challenge bowling against the men.
01:28And it helps build me as a player.
01:31Khan was outstanding with her feeling for TNT in the wide ball format in St. Vincent.
01:35She continues to work on that aspect of the game. Plus, she wants to get better with Willow in hand.
01:39Much thanks to Marissa Lidera. She has been a great help because before the tournament, the preparation was good.
01:46You know, she's been working on tracking back, aiming, the action, making sure we're in our line properly.
01:52So that was really good.
01:54The baton, I would say the baton coming along, I just need to build confidence more.
01:58And once I have that, I think I'll be a good all-rounder.
02:02For Espinoza, it's also a privilege to be training with the men's team.
02:06Like Khan, she says the experience is going to be beneficial.
02:09Well, I enjoy it for now. It's a lot of experience I gain as I'm going forward.
02:15I'm just looking to work in my pace.
02:18Espinoza was born in Venezuela, where she was involved in sports.
02:22And how did she get into cricket?
02:24Well, my father, my stepfather, he was to play wimball, so he introduced me to cricket.
02:30I was to practice with coach Anel Lacan, and he bring me in sport to Kelo.
02:35So Kelo introduced me to the fastballing, and he has worked with me for the past three years.
02:40Espinoza was a part of the TNT squad for the women's T20 Blaze and the Super 50 tournament in St.
02:45Vincent earlier this year,
02:47but was unable to travel with the team due to visa issues.
02:50And we're not enough to have any tips to export it.
