00:00The West Indies took care of Pakistan by 25 runs in the women's T20 tri-series in Dublin to make
00:06it two wins from two.
00:07The ladies in Maroon posted 199 for six and then restricted the opposition to 174 for eight.
00:14Windies skipper Hayley Matthews made four-tier and bowled three overs, conceding just 21 runs.
00:19Look, I think it was a really good wicket to bat on for sure and we always knew about 180
00:24was par.
00:25So yeah, I think we got the runs that we wanted to.
00:27But yeah, at the same time I feel like we definitely left back some overs from myself, Afi Fletcher and
00:33some of our main bowlers as well to definitely give people the opportunity.
00:37Despite losing early wickets, some of Pakistan's batters made useful contributions to take them closer.
00:43Whatever the case, Matthews and company felt that they had the situation under control.
00:48Towards the end and towards the middle, towards the back end, they probably started getting off a bit.
00:54But I still think that we had enough in the end and yeah, didn't panic too much.
00:58We've got a lot of experienced bowlers who can get the job done and yeah, I guess even players like
01:04Desire Claxton, who's fairly new as well,
01:06was able to put her hand up there at the end and really use her change-ups to execute well
01:09and keep them tight though and get the big wicket as well.
01:11The T20 World Cup is a couple weeks away, which means that the Windies are using these games in Dublin
01:17to prepare for the big stage.
01:19What is pleasing to Matthews is the performance of the younger players in this tri-series.
01:24Like I said, the likes of Desire Claxton using her in a role, floating at the top of that order
01:29and how she batted today and then came with the ball.
01:32The likes of Janelia Glasgow as well in the inning she played alongside Chanel Henry was really good to see.
01:37So definitely a lot of positives and it will surely give, I guess, us experienced players at the top of
01:42the order some assurances that they can do their thing at the bottom as well.
01:45The Caribbean ladies have a break this weekend and play their next match of the tri-series on Monday against
01:51Homeside Ireland.
01:53Now I need to export.
