00:00 The TNT Red Force Divas arrived in St. Kitts on Friday for the Regional Super 50 and the T20 Blaze.
00:05 Coach Jibran Muhammad is pleased with the squads chosen for the two formats.
00:09 I'm very satisfied with the team selected for the Super 50 and the T20. These are the best
00:15 women cricketers in our country.
00:19 So we're very satisfied.
00:22 Regarding the preparations, Muhammad is satisfied that all boxes were ticked.
00:26 He says it's now left for the players to go out there and do what is required.
00:30 A lot of work has been put in.
00:32 You know, the sort of work we put in has always been a holistic approach.
00:38 We look at the athlete or the player from a technical, tactical,
00:43 physical, mental. So we really look at the player holistically,
00:47 aided by a tremendous amount of
00:52 game sense scenarios, practice sessions. We had a couple of practice games.
00:57 The work has been tremendous.
01:00 There are six teams in the tournament, the others being Barbados, Guyana,
01:04 Jamaica, Leeward Islands and Wynwood Islands. And how confident is Coach Muhammad about his team's chances?
01:10 We're very confident
01:12 of our chances, of TNT's chances.
01:14 I mean, we're always going to give 100%. The players are always going to give 100% to represent their country.
01:19 However, a lot of focus hasn't been oriented around the results so much,
01:25 but more so the process and what we have to do and what you have to achieve
01:29 first individually and then collectively as a group.
01:33 So we'll see how it goes, but we're very confident.
01:37 Having said that, the competition out there is tough and Muhammad is fully aware of it.
01:43 So which teams must TNT be wary of going into the tournament?
01:47 All and none.
01:49 I mean, you must be aware and mindful of the opposition.
01:53 However,
01:55 it's not something that we can control. We want to control what we can as a team.
01:59 What we could control is our attitudes, our behavior,
02:04 the way we play, the way we enjoy the game.
02:08 Our mindset. So we're going to be focusing on those things, our processes and
02:12 hopefully the results take care of themselves.
02:17 In doing that, with the way that we prepared, we're going to win cricket games.
02:23 The Super 50 bowls off first, the date being March 4th
02:26 and the starting date for the T20 blazers, March 17th.
02:30 Vinod Nawani, T6 Sport.
