00:03When practicing kicks, an interesting drill to keep in mind is the scarecrow drill derived
00:08from the wrestling circles. What you want to do is be able to arbitrarily pick striking areas on
00:16your opponent's body. You want to be able to hit vital points without much thought. What you do is
00:23work in your basic kicks, the front kick, the groin kick, the low side kick, and then eventually
00:29start circling your opponent as you assess various target areas on his body. You'll see here side
00:35kicks to the ribs, ball of foot round kick, and heel, spinning heel kicks to the solar plexus,
00:41attacks to the thigh, floating ribs, back of the knees, again floating ribs, hook kicks either to
00:49the solar plexus or to the groin, attacking the thigh area with the knees, shins, working the side kick.
00:58Many, many different applications here. An excellent drill to be able to pick and accurately assess
01:04target areas on your opponent.
