00:00In this video, you learn how to add automatic supports to a model in Bamboo Studio.
00:06A snowman model will be used to demonstrate the supports.
00:11First click on Global and then on Support.
00:16You see it's turned off.
00:19Let's preview the model.
00:22A warning about floating regions will appear because this model needs support.
00:27Click on Prepare to return.
00:30Check this box to enable support.
00:34And preview the model again.
00:38The standard automatic tree supports will be sufficient in many cases.
00:46Click on this box and change the automatic support type to Normal.
00:55Preview the model again to see what this looks like.
00:59Normal supports are not suitable for these kinds of models.
01:05Change it back to Tree Supports.
01:11Let's preview the model and you will see this is much better.
01:19This means that all angles below 30 degrees will be supported.
01:24Change it to 90 degrees and preview the model.
01:30More trees are being added because almost every angle is supported now.
01:35Change it to 1 degree and preview the model.
01:39Now there is much less support added.
01:42Click on the orange arrow to reset the value.
01:47Check on Build Plate only and preview the model.
01:54Now supports are only added on the build plate itself and not on top of the model or other supports.
02:02This is better visible with Normal supports instead of Tree Supports.
02:09Let's change it to Normal support.
02:17Only supports on the build plate are being added now.
02:24Let's uncheck on Build Plate only and preview the model.
02:29You see, there are much more supports around the model.
02:37Now reset all values.
02:40Please subscribe if you like it, thanks.
02:43When the Objects tab is selected, you can select the model here.
02:47From there, you can also go to another Support tab.
02:50Disable it and preview the model.
02:55The supports are gone now.
02:57Click on Prepare to return.
03:00Now click on the Global tab and then on Support.
03:04Here you see it's turned on.
03:06Leave it on and preview the model.
03:09The supports are still missing even though the box was checked.
03:16Click on the Objects tab and select the model.
03:19Then click on the orange lock icon to link the model support settings to the Global support settings.
03:25Preview the model again and you see that the supports are back.
03:29When you turn it off in the Global settings,
03:34the supports will be removed.
03:36The Global settings are now leading.
03:41Turning the supports back on will make them reappear.
03:46Another option is that you can choose a specific filament for the supports.
03:56Reset the angle and preview the model.
04:01The supports are made of the same filament as the model itself.
04:09Now click this plus button to add another filament.
04:12The color is red in this example.
04:15Then you can select this filament to be used for the supports.
04:20Preview the model again to see this.
04:24All supports are now made of red filament, which can be special soluble filament for example.
04:30You might also want to check out my 3D design channel.
04:34See you there.
