00:00In this video, you learn how to add brims to your model in Bamboo Studio to prevent warping.
00:08This is a typical model that could need brims because of its long and thin shapes.
00:13Let's go to the brim settings.
00:16Click on Global
00:19and select Others.
00:24Here you can change the brim type and width settings.
00:30The brim type is set to Auto.
00:34Click on Preview to see what this does.
00:36There's no brim at all.
00:38Click on Prepare to return.
00:43Click on Auto.
00:44And you see there are other settings.
00:47You can select Outer brim, Inner brim, Both or No brim.
00:54Select No brim and click on Preview.
01:00And you see no brim is added, which makes the model more sensitive to warping.
01:08Click on Prepare to return.
01:12Select Outer brim only.
01:18And leave the width at 5mm.
01:22Click on Preview and you see there's a brim all around the model.
01:27It's an open contour, so the brim will appear on both sides.
01:35Now select Inner brim only and preview the model again.
01:43Because there's no inside, no brim will be added to the model.
01:49So selecting Outer brim only is enough for this model.
01:54Click on Prepare and then Preview to preview again without losing orientation.
02:00And you see the brim is back.
02:04Let's change the brim width to 10mm.
02:09The brim is much broader now.
02:11Now let's see what inner brims look like.
02:15Click on Global and select Others.
02:19Select Inner brim only and preview the model.
02:30Because it's a closed contour, a brim will be added on the inside.
02:43Select Outer brim only and preview the model.
02:54And the brim will appear on the other side.
02:58Select Outer and Inner brim and preview the model.
03:06Now brims will appear on both sides of a wall.
03:10So brims are great for preventing models from warping, especially long and thin models.
